1. ok I feel like an idiot....... I just realized I had not taken the return edge off of the front near the wrists yet.....ugh OK I did that. Still needs a bit more sanded down but I have the idea now. Im sure fitting will be much easier now. Please ignore my previous ignorant post. LOL
2. AM 2.0 build...my 1st build

3. here are a couple of other shots im just tapping right now trying to see if im doing this right or not
4. Not sure if Im doing this right or not. What do you think?
5. So I am going to start my AM 2.0 build and have a questions about forarms and thought if anyone was on here tonight they could log on to periscope and take a look at my forarm question. I thought this might be an interesting way to get some feedback, plus sometimes I trouble putting into words what it is that I am trying to ask. my twitter or periscope handle is @anhtrooper thanks
6. Thanks Joseph! I guess my biggest question has to do with the very 1st step which is fitting of the forarms. I have determined which is right and left ( please correct me if im wrong but I think the right is the large U curve) Anyway, when trying to fit them which end do I look and measure to cut. (again I am assuming the inner since it has the most material) Do I draw my line in a similar way that one would have done with the overlap method? Or sort of like the AM 1 did? I have plenty of blue painters tape and wanted to size and tape a forarm. any advice? Phil
7. So my AM 2.0 armor is here!
Question :
With the new AM there is no overlap. It comes pretty trimmed for butt jointhe /cover strip method.
Do you guys find that easier for newbies?
It's my very 1st build!
8. anyone know what the correct sizes are for the metal strapping brackets? I know there are tall and short ones. just curious about the proper size.
9. Looks like the classic method would be a more simple process which might be a better route for me since I'm new at this. Plus I already have my brackets made. Although the snaps look more secure. Ugh!!! It's so hard to commit and my big brown box arrives tomorrow. Not that I'm rushing the process but I would like to have a method decided on before I start. 10. So I'm about ready to start my build and want your opinions. Do you recommend the "classic" strapping or the nylon webbing with snaps. I already have my brackets made but wonder which would be easier for a 1st time builder.
11. Is there a website or link to purchase the correct ones?
12. Thanks man. I am so nervous but excited at the same time. My problem is that the closest 501st guys are about 1 hr away so it's not like I could just hook up with them anytime. So I am relying on this forum and the TK armor build videos on YouTube (which by the way is awesome) That guy makes it look so easy though. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
13. Where did you buy the magnetsame from?
Also what about the split rivits?
14. Ok so I posted this on another post but for the sake of keeping build updates on the proper thread here it is.
While waiting on my BBB I decided to start working on the metal brackets that hold the abs and chest plate together. It was harder than I thought but doable. They are not perfect like mr. Nostripes but I'm proud ofor them.
15. Thanks guys! That makes me feel better. I will for sure be asking lots of questions when I start.
16. I have boots and gloves. Gotta get a neck seal and holster /blaster.
Really sort of holding off on the blaster till I get my armor complete. I thought the blaster might be a bit too much to take on. The armor will keep me very busy
17. My AM kit arrives Monday and it will be my very 1st build also! I will for sure keep up with your build thread as I do mine.
What are you going to start with? It is my understanding that biceps and forarms are the easiest and helps build confidence. I think I will start there and document. Also I may try to periscope meerkat my builds so if you want to connect with me on Twitter @anhtrooper maybe we can share ideas.
While I wait, I thought it would be good to start making the brackets uses for mounting to torso to kidney and butt plate.
I used the TK armor build YouTube channel episode 7 to help me.
They are not perfect but they will work. ---------------- Enjoy
18. Ok so I know it's best to take your time on a build...go slow etc.
That being said, what is an average timeline on most builds? Weeks? Months?
I ask because I am an elementary school teacher and have my 1st AM kit arriving next week. We have lots of cool things going on in our school for May 4th and I would love to suit up for the kids. Just wondering if I have enough time as a newbie.
19. Thanks guys! Getting all my supplies in order.
I am making my wire brackets tonight.I figured that way I will have them ready.
20. My BBB day is scheduled for Wed!
Gonna try to do a live stream onot either periscope or Meerkat during my build process. I hope to get some great "real time" feedback from you guys throughout my journey. If you follow me on Twitter @anhtrooper you will get notifications when I am working on my kit....if you are interested.
This is my very 1st build and I am very nervous. Hope to get some good feedback from you guys.
21. Interesting. I will have to check it out for sure. Thanks!
22. My twitter account is @anhtrooper
Hopefully I can get fellow troopers to follow me and give me some advice as I build.
23. I live in east TN (johnson city)
I have contacted both the midsouth garrison and the Carolina garrison(which has members closer to me)
If I start streaming then when people follow me on Twitter, they will receive a notification on their phones each time I'm on live working on my build.
24. It's a live video website where not only can you watch me build my kit but you can communicate back in real time...live
25. What if I streamed my build process? Maybe on periscope or meerkat?
Do you guys think that would be beneficial?
