1. ----------- So got the 10 mm trimy on both sides which will give me 20 mm total for the cover strips. I installed the inside steps for extra support. The only "problem" is that my lines on the front didn't really match up very well on the shins. I'm guessing that after sanding and adjusting the back it will be fixed and no problem. It's not perfect as I am a complete newbie but have been trying to follow Navajo Bros AM build as closely as I can. Plus you guys on here giving feedback has been a huge help!
2. that is not with the skin tight undersuit.
3. so I am doing the fitting of the thighs but they seem like they are a bit too long for my legs. In fact my kneecaps are under the armor. Do I trim the tops down?
4. Looks great! I am thinking about going back and filling in some space with zap a gap just to give it more strength. I used e600 and it feels like a strong bond but not a super strong bond if you know what I mean
5. I agree, Navajo Bros does a great helmet build. I am following his build thread right now on my AM kit and he does an amazing job explaining each step!
6. Wow! That one is in rough shape! Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
7. Sigh.....ok thanks guys. So I for sure need to trim edges off of the bottom of both thighs and shins correct? ?
8. So I'm working on the thighs and didn't read the build thread closely and cut off the return edges on the top of the thighs. I feel sick to my stomach now. Someone ease tell me this is OK that some people trim it off anyway. Or if not how do I fix this or make new return edges.
9. I wonder if I use velcro to mount the plastic brackets if that would be better than glue. That way if I ever decide to do a different set up inside the helmet I am not stuck with what's in there?
10. I have them. They are the same color as the other stuff right?
11. Also...is there a thread showing how to install the head strapping thingy that comes with AM 2.0?
12. well I finished forearms, and biceps and decided to take a break and tackle the helmet. its not perfect but its a good start. I decided not to worry myself sick over the gap in the ears because if its really accurate there will be gaps. plus I can fix them later. As for the eyes, well for now I taped in the bubble lenses just to see what it will look like. I am going for stunt, so I will swap out lenses next week. Gaining confidence!!!!
13. So I was pretty set on doing the classic bracket method but then I read that there is not enough return edge on AM 2.0 and I should use the snap method. Any thoughts?
14. Thanks man. Got my forearms and biceps done today. I am a teacher and today we were out for snow so I spent the afternoon working on my build.
I am doing the inner strips now. Turns out that ABS glue that comes with the kit works great for inner strips
15. I know that for newbies, e6000 is the way to go. Just wondering if it would be OK to use zap a gap for the inside shims on let's say forearms and biceps. I'm a little nervous but gaining confidence
16. 1st of all I want to thank everyone in the forum for all of their help and willingness to help new guys like myself. I could not do it without the words of encouragement from guys who know their stuff! Today was a good day. Although i made a mistake on the teeth (not a bad one, just filled out all 10...oops) I managed to get me forearm return edges removed in the correct spots and forearms sized. I am waiting for my magnets to arrive which should be tomorrow. so I will wait till then to cut and join. Till then I started working on the helmet. I must say that Navajo Bros AM build thread is awesome!!!!!! It has helped me out a ton. He is the MAN! As you can see Im trying to follow along as best I can to his. busted out the e6000 for the 1st time tonight. whooo that stuff stinks.....gotts headach now. anyway thanks guys.... Till tomorrow!
17. Well crap. I guess we can chalk that one up to dumb rookie miskates. Well for now I will move forward then go back at the end and fix it. Thanks guys. I will be back on here later tonight with another question after my daughter is asleep. Seems like that's going to be be only time I can get to work on it. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
18. i know its not perfect....gotta get in there to get more sanded out but afraid I will screw it up.
19. VERY nervous but tried it. Took it slow and proud of myself.
Posting a pic to get feedback.
20. That makes sense...thanks Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
21. Can someone direct me to a thread or topic dealing with the helmet build for AM 2.0?
I have a pretty good idea of how to do it but have noticed long and short screws in my kit and am a little confused about which screw goes where.
Thanks guys
