1. You can see some gap in this pic Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
2. Remember this....some gap is cannon. If you look at screen shots from the OT you will see some gaps on all stormtrooper helmets. So don't worry too much about eliminating all gaps. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
3. Took advantage of the nice weather and no work to cut out all of the pieces. Now I need to sand and paint Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
4. Are those suspenders? Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
5. Very nice! Any more pics you have of the interior would be appreciated. I'm trying to decide if I need to add a shim or something between the chest and ab piece Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
6. Don't they make a spray paint just for plastic now? Wonder ifor that would work?
7. Ok so I decided to start a build thread on this. I am building this for my 6 (almost 7) year old daughter. These "battle buddies" were on clearance (and may still be) at Target for $49. So after we got it home and played with him it was time to cut and hack it apart. 1st thing I did was take apart the blaster which I will use later. A lot of it comes apart but removing the screws. Won't be able to use the helmet. It's way too small, so I will order a rubies 2 piece. I am starting with the forearms. There is quite a bit to gut out. I did not realize how long it takes to gut out everything inside! One thing I decided to do was line the inside of the forearms and thighs with white craft foam. This will just make it more comfortable to wear for her. I then glued inner strips to the forearm using some scrap abs from my TK build and used e6000 That's day 1 and 2. I'm pretty tired already. I will say that it seems to be a bit more work than my TK build. For one there is way more to trim and sand. And also the plastic is harder to work with than abs. Anyway the good thing is that I don't have to worry about it passing for any kind of approval except for the approval of my daughter which can be a bit tougher than 501st. 8. I am converting a 48" FO trooper figure into wearable armor for my 6 yr old but need a better helmet. The one with the fighter is too small. Don't need anything expensive as she will out grow it. Any thoughts?
9. ------------- It was this one. Thoughts?
10. Any suggestions? I saw a few at advanced auto but not this exact style. The handle was off center, but was rectangular in shape I I'm pretty sure the same size. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
11. This seems to be unavailable? Any suggestions? Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
12. Awesome! I'm excited about this build! Can't be that difficult right? I mean not compared to a TK build? Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
13. Yes I will! I am looking at pack build threads now. Just like with building armor, I am trying to decide which thread is the easiest to follow.Any thoughts? Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
14. Hey guyes,
So I have a TK ANH stunt. I am ordering a DLT-19 and curious about transforming it into a HWT but not sure what needs to be done or added. Of course a Pauldron (orange)
Dof I have to have the pack? Or is that optional.
Or is it cool for a TK to just have a pauldron and dlt? Just looks cool.
Thoughts?
15. Cool. You should find lots of troopers in that area to help you out. I am near the Asheville area and I know of several guys in that area as well. If u have any questions feel free to ask. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
16. Very cool! I am a member of the Carolina Garrison! What part of the Carolinas are you in? Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
17. Yep...and those are pretty good kits! To me they feel a little lighter or thinner plastic than my AM 2.0 but still....really nice kit!
18. Well, you have a few routes you could go. Have you researched the differnt types of armor yet? Once you do that then you will need to make a decision on if you want TM, ATA, WTF, AM 2.0 or anovos (just to name a few) they all have pros and cons but all have been 501st approved at some point. Remember, the maker of the armor or armor itself does not get 501st approved. YOU are the one who does the work to get it approved. In other words, there are plenty of guys with Anovos kits that are not getting approved. Take you time, research research research. Do not get in a hurry or you can make some pretty bed mistakes. Keep us posted on your journey and ask LOTS of questions!!!! Someone will answer your question on here! Enjoy! Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
19. Totally do not understand why? Can someone explain this to me? There has to be an explanation
20. YES!!!! AM is the best!!!! Very thick and sturdy. Way more than anovos! Plus it comes pre trimmed!!!! I love mine!!! Do it! You will be glad you did! Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
21. Ok guys so I am seriously thinking about building a shadow trooper and I have a couple of questions.
1. I already have ANH AM 2.0 TK that I build last year and a member of 501st. Do you build a shadow trooper the same way? In other words is it just like building a TK only a differnt color? Could I follow the same building thread I followed for my TK, because I know that thread inside and out.
2. Since my TK kit is AM 2.0 I am thinking about sticking with that. Are there any recommendations you guys have for shadow?
22. does anyone sell them anymore? I really need to buy a set.
23. Looks great! Couple of things I have noticed: The thighs look a little long to me. This can cause mobility issues. I know I did for me! I would suggest trimming a little off the top of the thighs. I used a pencil and drew my line all the way around the top then trimmed and sanded. That will help a lot! Also another thing that will help would be to cut out some of the back of the thighs. If you look at the screen references you can see that most troopers have a pretty good size "U" shape cut out of the return edge on the back. That gives you more room to bend you legs. I hope this helps!
