  2. Thanks UKSWRATH, you've made my day! I've already got the blaster kit ready to build so I'll be submitting for Centurion very soon. Regards G.
  3. Thanks ukswrath - here's the S trim on the helmet.

  5. Just had my 501st UKG clearance! Please add me to the ranks! TK-31225. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=22718
  6. Nice build! I'm still at the painting stage of my Hasbro conversion. Really like the modelling clay tip, wish I'd have done that now.
  7. Thanks humperdingle. The P shape is smaller and looks like it might be more accurate, plus you could possibly overlap the flat section in theory to hide the gaps. Won't know until I try it out I guess!
  8. Wow, well done! Looks great. Did you go for the P profile strip or D shape? Can you share how you attached it to the t-shirt? Many thanks Gareth
  9. Jesus, reading all these has made me terrified of trooping at all! I was thinking of doing the occasional kids party but maybe that's not a great idea after all..!?
  10. The scary thing is someone WILL buy it - encouraging them to make MORE!!!?
  11. Definitely going to give this a try. I noticed you can get P shape profile strips which are smaller than the D shape. Once trimmed down it should make it thinner. I'll post pics once I get round to making it. ------------
  12. Hi Bozzy - I'm just starting my Hasbro Doopy conversion and love your 20mm Monocular mod! Could you please tell me where you bought it from? I can't seem to find any like that. Really appreciate you help. Thanks Gareth
  13. Thanks for the info. This helmet search isn't easy is it!
  14. Has anyone used this guy? http://resintrooperhelmets.weebly.com/ I'm after an ANH Stunt helmet and they certainly look the part - £80 for raw cast and £150 finished... tempting! Thanks Gareth
  15. That's true... I don't know too much about recasting but I can sense it's a dark area on this forum and I can see the reasons why. There's an interesting discussion around elsewhere on here whether anyone other than Lucasfilm actually own the right to produce storm trooper helmets but I can understand why people take offence at recasting. Helmets seem to be so hard to come by especially at a decent price and without waiting months for someone to make one so sellers like this do seem like an attractive alternative if the product and service are good.
  16. Hi Major Tom, I'm in the same boat as you and have asked the same questions before, in fact I've just been in touch with a member on here who actually has one of newimage58's helmets who was very impressed by them. I think I might get one as the price is good, he's in the UK and I haven't the time or the skill to put together one of my own! From what I gather there's doubt as to whether he is known as a 're-caster', ie stealing someone's sculpt and passing it off as his own - although judging by his work in progress photos he seems to sculpt everything from scratch... Until I take the plunge and order one then I can't comment on his service but once I do I'll be sure to post a complete review to clear this up for others who are considering buying one. Hope that helps G
  17. I think this has been discussed a few years ago but it seems this seller has now started producing a plastic version of his helmets which seems to be in answer to previous criticism. Is this still one to avoid and if so what should I be aware of? Thanks! Gareth
