If its not in the CRL - no go, at least at official 501st events in my opinion. What you do outside of the 501st is up to you.

I tried dyeing and it didn't comet black enough. In the end I painted it.

I used strips and the acrylic paste - no problems since.

If you can trim and glue armour, you can probably make a Plasma rifle. Give it a try - it doesn't have to be expensive - just use your imagination and be creative. I based mine on a toy rifle from Amazon and added some plastic downpipe. A few other plastic strips, some tubing and a plastic water bottle and hey presto! Coastwise it was about $40-50 with paint.

Yay! Another Incinerator. I can't really comment on your points but would offer the following advice when joining the butt and kidney plate: rather than just glue them together, use some strips of ABS on the inside to bridge the two sections as they may be under a lot of stress. Also, as directed by my armourer - I filled the seam with some acrylic paste I made. I would be interested to see the Plasma Rifle you are planning too Larry

You can try making some small L or V shaped brackets out of ABS and using them to help secure the ears.

I have mine mounted in the chest plate, facing outward and its easy to hear and plant loud. The whole ROM Fx set up is supported by a foam insert with some velcro running across to hold it in.

Hi there, I am not an armourer and others are better placed to advise but from the Incinerator that I recently completed I can offer the following suggestions: 1. If you will forgive me, you are a larger framed guy. Your breastplate looks way too small and does not wrap around to the side. I am surmising that the backplate is similarly small? There is armour for the larger frame and I myself used the RT-Mod which covered my 42" chest. 2.It looks as if the Ab plate needs to be strapped properly to the rear armour to eliminate those gaps at the side. 3.The whole Ab plate/cod piece looks as if it needs to be lower. This will reduce the "black" between the cod piece and legs, perhaps make the belt sit better (it needs to be a littler higher as stated before). If the larger chest plate is substituted, there should be a sufficient overlap with the Ab plate then. 4. I can't see the strapping properly but I found 2" elastic to work better for the thighs to Ab plate and also for the upper to lower arms where it stopped the upper arms moving annoyingly and also pulled up the lower arms a little. 5. Strapping in general is very important for getting a good fit and varies from person to person. 6. Forgive me, but the helmet looks too small. Again, I am not an expert but I think there are varying sized helmets available and a larger one would look more in scale. 7. There looks to be a lot of room around the bottom of your thigh pieces. You should be able to fit your hand int there comfortably - no more. Are they able to be reduced? I hope that helps. More photos as changes are made will help others assist you. It is a lot of trial and error - it took me 3 months to get it right for trooping but even now, I still find myself tweaking it here and there. Best of luck. Larry

I am new to trooping but recently switched from an old all in one to a two piece UnderArmour set. Fantastic! Light, comfortable and cool (even in the UK summer where it does get hot occasionally).

I second that. Although it may not be as hot here in the UK as elsewhere, we have out moments. I have only done 6 troops but for the last 4 have been drinking water little and often in the 24hr period leading up to the troop. What I have found is that I am not so thirsty on troop day and hardly need the bathroom. I sweat a lot - but thats the body cooling and I have drunk enough to allow for this. Switching to Under Armour bodysuit has helped a lot as the sweat is wicked away by the breeze. Even us Incinerators don't like it THAT hot

It looks great. Its only after a few troops that you start to understand how it all fits together and feels. I took the plunge and cut some OFF my codpiece to shorten it. I have just trimmed some off the tops of my lags where it was rubbing in my nether regions Onwards and upwards!
