There's no one "optimal" set up. Same applies for padding. I'm Anovos as well... modifications to the helmet are visual ones and is your choice. It's accurate as it is. Sounds like the included speaker seems okay but not variable volume vs Aker's 10watt (or 12watt) with variable volume control. I do like the "tininess" the modulator makes your voice though. Seems like the Akker simply amplifies your voice and the icomm just adds the clicks and bursts at the end.

Shout out to IB for working with me and another customer. I found my IB boots too large when ordering a size up. They coordinated with another buyer and reimbursed me in a timely manner as promised!

I put my name on the list a few months ago - when I was notified I had boots available in my size, I put the order in about 2 weeks after their email. My order was shipped on the same day. Had it not been a Thursday, I'd probably had gotten then within the same week. They came in a day earlier the following Monday.

I ordered from TKBoots last Thursday and received them today. Will post my experience with them when I get my hands on them!

My experience thus far with Imperial Boots has been poor. Poor communication. I ordered a size up as suggested. Normal 13 ordered US 14. But apparently I'm not within the majority of customers. They came over WAY too big. They gave me the name and address to send my 14's to someone and IB said they'd send me a replacement 13. I messaged the person they told me to send my boots to on Facebook and he said he was told to swap with me. Conflicting messages/instructions!? Now I know the Holidays are upon us, but I received the instructions to send my boots on Thanksgiving and I've made 3 attempts to reach out to them to clear up some confusion. I'm considering selling them for what I paid, then buying from TK boots if I don't hear back soon. PM me if interested.

Ordered on Oct 30th - US Size 14. Had to be custom made. (Im normally a 13). Dealt with Vincent - very nice and quick to respond. Latest status on tracking is that it arrived in my city today. Should expect delivery tomorrow.

I just ordered mine at a full size up (ordered a 14). They're saying - and a few other users saying - that you can pad the extra space w/ inserts. Your feet also swell if you walk around in it for a long time.

Does anyone know if the Aker 1505 (vs the 1506 in your vid) will work with the icomm? Anyone have experience with this? I believe the wattage is higher making the device slightly larger but louder. Thanks!

Do these TK Boots fit true to size? If I wear a shoe size of 13, should I go a size up or order 13s? Fitting inserts in these would be ideal.

Yep we've swapped messages through email and messages here. I consciously send my messages during our late PM hours. Yesterday's email was sent 11:30pm...making it 12:30 in the afternoon in Shanghai. I understand there's a lot of emails to get back to since coming off a month + of vacation so ... I'll wait a little longer before looking elsewhere.

I really appreciate all the kind words. It's really encouraging! I'll take all your suggestions to heart. So I'm continuing modification with Tino's kit. First, I hollowed out the stalk - how's it look? I think there's a bit of a gap where the Y portion starts. I also went drill happy and went through a bit too much...I'll fix that up with green stuff.

Full size up eh? Guess I'll be looking at size 14 boots then. Still no luck at getting a consistent dialogue with him. I guess I could skip speaking to him first and order straight from the site. It'd just make me a little more at ease to speak to 'em first like you all have been able to do.

I just did what Sam suggested and just send my previous message again. I got a short reply saying he had '421' (TK) boots in stock. That's good news since TKBoots is struggling with stock. However, my concern isn't with stock - it's with proper fit! I dont think I have wide feet since I never seek out special shoes and sizes. I just want a good fit and possibly use inserts. A personal goal of mine is to walk a 5K or some kind of charity walk / run in TK armor so getting good boots is important to me!

Since I'm a 13 I guess I'll see if he suggests getting a size 14 if what yall said is true... that he doesn't do half sizes above 11. O_o So I guess there's nothing really to discuss with him huh?

When ordering a full size up + inserts + thick socks, will that make up for the extra space in the toes? I've given him my measurements twice but I'm still waiting for a response. It's been nearly a week since my last email to him. I won't send anymore emails until I get a response, no point in spamming his inbox.

Thanks, Steve! Yeah I got a bit over confident when drilling holes from one end to the other. Lesson learned: Go half way in from both sides. Fortunately, I got some green stuff from T-Jay's kit that arrived today. Surely I'll need more, but for now I have some to use on areas like you mentioned. I didn't get time to work on the kit today, hopefully will be able to tomorrow.
