  1. fellow 2.0 build club member here will be watching as well! Good luck!
  2. Not much done the last week or so due to work schedule but I did manage to do more painting. Fixed dome traps painted cheek traps I think they look good Also painted Vocoder I added lens screws around the eyes so I could have smaller lenses instead of one big lens running across the inside of the bucket used 6/32 screws flipped them over and used plastic weld putty and mounted them around the eye socket and will be using Acorn nuts to hold down the lens. Forgot to take pic of this but you can see them in a pic below. I plasti-coated the inside of the bucket took 3 coats used the spray can and it was a breeze. One thing I did which I wasnt sure if it's been done before was I took cotton balls and shoved them inside the teeth that I cut out and was surprised that not a single spec of paint bled thru removing cotton final result a little more left on the helmet, I want to get all of Ukswrath's voice, hearing and cooling systems just not sure if I want to do them now or start the armor first.
  3. Thanks Jorge! Have to admit I was a little overwhelmed with the first kit so I took some time away and cleared my head and figured I'd give it another go! It's tuff for a new guy here in DE I think there's like a dozen members so getting help local looks to be limited so I'll read builds and more builds and see what happens! And AM's definitely thicker which I like, don't have to be so lite handed with the armor.
  4. Enamels, Testors 1138 Grey and 1149 Semi-gloss black i think. What's crazy is even after over 24hrs dry time I was doing a second coat of grey and it was loosening up the first coat. Not sure if Ishould just put it on thick or what to do. Any ideas? here's a pic of what i mean
  5. I'm thinking nocking the line in half and that should do it something like this BEFORE AFTER
  6. Thanks guys! Didn't do much here due to work but the stickers on the helmet really bothered me so I took them off and painted the first coat last night, let me know if you think the lines are too bold and maybe thin them out just a bit. and the other side
  7. Here's my second attempt at a TK build about a year ago I ordered an AP kit but ended up selling it due to size issues or maybe just ME issues! Anyway after taking a break from the boards for a while and dropping 20lbs the dark side has called me back and I ordered a AM 2.0 kit and received it last week see below BBB day was Thursday! The goodies Starting with the Helmet, I watched Eric's youtube video on building the AM 4.0 helmet here's what I have so far let me know how it looks (I have since lowered the brow about half the size in this picture looked too high) The following pics show the brow where I was originally going to keep it, let me know if I'm on the right track here. side views Also did the teeth how do they look?? that's it for now thanks!
  8. Great build! Will be using this as well.
  9. So get my forearms to fit and say they are 25MM edge to edge and my biceps are 30MM do I use the 15MM cover strip and leave the edge exposed or do I go with a 25MM cover strip to match the forearm and not worry about the bicep? I know I'm being a PITA but I'm hoping for centurion and want to make sure I do this right.
  10. Gary, Thanks for the reply the cut lines are actually 8MM I thought I did 7.5mm but I remeasured them last night i think I did the 8MM so I could sand them and not lose anything. My concern was the return edge is supposed to be hidden by the cover strip, right? So if that's the case the cover strip will need to be wider to match, correct. I've cut one forearm and one bicep at 8MM and neither one will work for me so I asked Tony (aka ukswrath) for help and he said I could widen the space on the cut pieces and put a shim on the backside to accommodate the opening. I'm going to try a mock up of that and see if I like it if not I will see if Mark will sell me a new forearm and bicep. Here's a pic of the forearm taped up at 8MM or 16MM total. would it pay to try and do a hot water bath see how it's not really round More oval At 16MM I can't even get my hand thru the wrist opening and as much as I hate to say it I have small hands
  11. Jason second guessing the hot water bath been working on the forearms and biceps and nothing fits can't get the forearms on at all and the biceps fit but the second I start to bend my arm it pops apart!! I could understand if I was overweight but I'm 6'3" 230 and my arms are not big in the least. Completely bummed right now after researching other builds of guys much bigger and having no issues.
  12. Awesome job Jayson! Everything's looking great . Buttons are really nice do you think there will be any issue with them peeling off?
  13. FYI, On May 4th use code MT42016 for 15% any Star Wars item 1 day only.
  14. Thanks for the info Jason! I really think the issue I have is that the forearms are more oval than round. After I read your post I took out my cloth tape and measured my forearm at the widest point and it's at 13" so I would think they should fit no problem, right?
  15. Gary, Thanks for the input keep it coming!! Jorge, same here I've ruff cut the forearms and they "bite" like crazy and they're super tight to try on which makes me real hesitant to cut anything of them! case in point here's my forearms I've measured them to 7.5MM and taped them at the cut line does this look right to you guys?? This was all I did last night with the NFL draft on and not sure of myself I just wasn't feeling it to do more. I think this is right but with the temp fit as tight as it was I am just super hesitant to cut anything. Thanks for your help!
  16. Sweet bag Jon, nice to see another DE member on the boards.
  17. Gotcha I'll double check mine, for your helmet did you get S-trim with it for the head opening or extra brow trim for that?
  18. So I was able to get started last night and honestly I was overwhelmed once I sat down with a razor on my hand so here's the good stuff Can't believe all this fits in this box! Now I know who to call to pack my wife's suitcase when we go on vacation! And let's not forget the spread the contents out pic Question to all you AP TK's the trim for the brow and neck trim are they the same? My kit came with 2 pieces of brow trim no S trim not sure if I need to contact Mark or not. More parts My build space, nothing like having 2 projects going at once good thing is theater's almost done. Here's my tool box I think I have almost everything I need to do this! So I wanted to start with something easy so Sniper plate it is! Well not as easy as I thought I trimmed to the best I could but wasn't sure about how thick the return edge it on it so I let enought that I can trim it back if needed. Any pointers? What's the actual size? You can see the edge on the bottom it's thick I wasn't sure the actual width it should be. Same here I left some extra in case but I'm thinking this needs to be smaller. Next I was feeling good so I tackled the shoulder bells same here I left a little extra that I can sand away later. That was fairly easy so next was the forearms. Now I didn't do any trimming for sizing yet but I tried to put it on my arm and it's tight does this look right? I'm no hulk and my forearms aren't big at all but this looks odd does it need a hot water bath? here's the other arm this looks better. That's all for the night more tomorrow. Any questions or comments are welcomed! Thanks Guys.
  19. Jorge, Where did you see R's and L's on your legs? I tried to figure it out last night but couldn't find any.
  20. Ok so I broke down and ordered the Anovos TK kit last May because well I always wanted to be a white plastic space guy so I took the plunge. Anyway while I waited for my TK kit to arrive I purchased a DD E-11 blaster kit and took my good old sweet time to complete it which I finished this past March. Anyway after reading and following builds for almost a year now my Anovos kit arrived in February and after looking it over for a few weeks I decided to sell my kit and go with a vetted seller from the FISD which happened to be Mark and AP so I placed my order and now the wait AGAIN for another kit was on! In the meantime my boots arrived! Was very surprised how comfortable these are and the quality is amazing! So I placed my order and received an email with my tracking number just over 4weeks later, super surprised as I thought it would take much longer. Anyway yesterday the brown truck arrived and dropped this off at work! Didn't get a chance to open it last night due to baseball so tonight I'll rip it open and take pics of all the plastic goodness!
  21. I saw some of these just thought maybe I missed some. Thanks
