  1. Would freezing the boot damage the leather?
  2. Thanks Tim! I'll cut new cover strips for the thighs.
  3. Ok I understand what you mean now. Thanks for the clarification! I'm going to be trimming the backs of the legs last to make sure there's enough material to ensure no visible gap. I've already had to heat up the calves and bend them a bit to make room for my calves. So far there's still overlapping material and I managed to keep the shape of the legs fairly accurate. It's been a challenge to trim and make sure everything is butt joined properly.
  4. What is "too tight"? The kit I'm building is an AM2.0 and the cover strips line up with the creased lines on the arms and legs with no overhang. I tried to be as diligent as possible, measuring a few times before cutting. Perhaps they're too tight now?
  5. I appreciate all the help. It has made me far less stressed while measuring and cutting the growing pile of cover strips.
  6. I've been searching the forums and I can't seem to find the thread which has the correct widths of all the cover strips. Can anyone help? Thanks.
  7. I would be interested in a template to get more accurate looking thighs.
  8. Thanks for making this thread. I just picked up a "build-a-blaster" to do a poorboy DLT too.
  9. I have a Darman neck seal and I'm very happy with it. It's made with a light weight breathable fabric similar to the underarmor-style undersuit I have. This gives it a seamless appearance when the bib is tucked into the shirt which appeals to me. There's also a fabric stiffener inside which helps to hold it shape. I'll likely be ordering a Veedox neck seal in the future.
  10. Thanks for the pics and the comparison. How much to both of these weigh? And would it be possible to take a picture of the connection method for the ASH version? Thanks.
  11. Nice. Can't wait to see more progress
  12. Nice tip on the split rivets. I'll be making good use of that info shortly.
  13. Thanks for the pics. I'll probably be going with an RT-Mod kit as well so these will make excellent references for my build.
  14. I had similar concerns, especially since I heard that the photos on the Anovos site are of the prototype and not the final product. However after talking with local garrison members I purchased it for a couple reasons. The first is that it's always good to have spare parts. The second is that since it'll be my first build I'd rather learn how to trim and fit TK armor using a cheaper, possibly not approvable kit. And since I preordered it at a great price I won't stress over the multitude of FNG mistakes I'll inevitably be making every bumbling step of the way.
  15. Ordered one. Worst case I've been told it's always a good idea to have spare parts.
