I feel your excitement and anticipation, folks! I can't wait to sign up with my garrison! Just waiting on Anovos!

My thanks to Starrfox1 for hooking me up with a proper m38 scope! <br><br> <br><br><img src="<a class="bbc_url" href="http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/ff484/Machinimax05/Stormtrooper%20Blaster%20Project/image_zpst9uq5m4a.jpeg">http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/ff484/Machinimax05/Stormtrooper%20Blaster%20Project/image_zpst9uq5m4a.jpeg"</a>alt="image_zpst9uq5m4a.jpeg">

Transporting an E-11
Machinimax replied to DroidHunter's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
This thread could not have come up at a better time! I'm currently in the process of building a specialized case for my E-11. I wanted to know that if I take it anywhere it would be secure. I also want it to look like something a trooper might actually carry with him. Just something to add to the trooping fun! Inside the case will be a few layers of foam to keep it in place. You can see one of them below. -
Not hard at all. Once I removed all of the airsoft firing components then I had plenty of room to insert the electronics. The sound card and battery pack fits right in the back near the end cap where I can also access the speaker and recharge port. The trickiest part was threading all the wires throughout the blaster but with a little patience it all came together nicely.

Another little girl bullied for liking Star Wars

This is a beautiful sight! Well done everyone! Nothing like a smile on a child's face. -
Awesome! I didn't know it all it needed was a good polish. I though it was some kind of sealant that gave it the shine.

This container is obviously too small but this the stuff?<br><br> <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?sku=44042&gclid=CJukn_G6yscCFUyPHwodq6kPeQ'>http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?sku=44042&gclid=CJukn_G6yscCFUyPHwodq6kPeQ</a>

Thank you all! This was a fun and exciting build! I'm getting even more excited to be a trooper!
-
What kind of finishes do you guys use to give your armor that nice nice shinny seal? Any recommended brands?
-
Thought so but doesn't matter to me. Just wanted to clarify how the 501st would classify it.
-
So looking at what we have seen so far, would this count as Stunt or Hero armor?
-
Ditto. I have the same problem on my iPad. It must have something to do with iOS.

"You can't stay on target with these things. You miss your first shot and you were lying on the ground with a hole blasted through your armor." - Anonymous Stormtrooper ANH E-11 Blaster Rifle This is an S&T Sterling airsoft gun that has been gutted and the internals replaced with lights and sounds. This is probably one of the most accurate metal Sterlings you can get without breaking the bank (more or less ) on a real deactivated one. Specs Rubber T-tracks from TFX Studios Super accurate PlayfulWolfCub power cylinders Replica Hengstler Counter from Dennis Custom made scope rail Vintage M38a2 tank scope (Not 100% accurate to the original but still awesome!) Plecter Labs Blaster Core 4.0 RGB Superflux LED barrel light 6 segment LED ammo counter The stand is also custom made using a simple design consisting of wood and PVC. I added a piece of sheet metal on the area of the bolt that covers the ejection chamber to give it a more accurate look. When painting the power cylinders, I gave it a crude paint job by intentionally missing spots and even wiping off wet paint. This was to give them a bit of a weathered and used look. The LEDs used for the bar graph display (and the trigger switch) are held in place using a special part I designed and 3D printed myself. The tube protecting the wires from the counter to the Sterling is actually the same type found in Lego Technic kits. Build Pics Video This build was much more challenging than it looked but in the end the results are what count and they make me very happy! I can't wait to pair this with my incoming Anovos armor and hopefully join up with the 501st. Thanks all for looking!

I am a very proud and happy own of one of Andy's power cylinder kits! Thanks Andy for your quality work and craftsmanship! I will try to keep you all up to speed as a work on this.<br><br><img src="http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/ff484/Machinimax05/Stormtrooper%20Blaster%20Project/image_zpszk78qcjf.jpeg"alt="image_zpszk78qcjf.jpeg">

I finally saw a video of someone demonstrating the Disney E-11 and I have to say I was very pleased with the accuracy of the sounds! They were the same as those on the SW soundboards. Great economy board for an electronics install! Have fun with the build!
-
Since I did an electronics install on this, there was no room to reinsert the spring and stopper for the bolt. Therefore, I had to secure it in a fixed position. However I believe it could still slide back if mine still worked that way.
-
Made an attempt to make the bolt look more accurate. Used some sheet metal to make a strip that I could lay across the bolt. Not too shabby, I think!
-
Fully pieced together minus the cylinders I'm waiting on. As a sub-project and a means of passing the time as I wait for them, I figured I could use something to sit it upright and pretty-like.

Anovos released images of their first test pull today. https://gallery.mailchimp.com/d364b6e2ca1099fb0335fbecd/images/e23e67e0-21eb-4526-9a05-7c2aab48684e.png So far so good, I think! They said the first public display of full prototype armor will be at San Diago Comic Con on July 11th.

Not in person but I've seen plenty of pics. It's disappointing in my opinion. It's basically a short version of the E-11 with an optional barrel extension piece. I will say I like that it has the functional folding stock and the scope isn't to shabby but overall I wouldn't bother with it unless it's for a kid.
-
I might but I'm still keeping my eye out for an m38 is decent condition. So I'll see. In the meantime, here are some build pics to hold you guys over for awhile.

Sorry it's been a while since I updated but some things I've been waiting for took some time to get here. First off, I've got my scope! It's a genuine tank scope, the M38A2. Got it for a great price on eBay. Does it lose me a few points in the accuracy category, yes but it was either this or the M38 replica from Evolution Props. This one has far fewer inaccuracies and a working lens! I finished up my scope rail with a nice paint job. Put it all together..... https://i.imgur.com/vUJEc7s.jpg As far as cosmetics go, I'm just waiting on my power cylinders. I'm working on the electronics install now. Should be done with that in a day or two!
-
Amazing what a coat of paint can do! They look like the real deals with that coloring. Nice vid by the way.
-
They told me, "Get a grip!"......so I did! Once the scope arrives, I'll be able to mount the hengstler and start a proper electronics install.

It's so beautiful I.........
