  1. Yeah long torso and shorter thighs. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  2. Now when I prep to paint the inner barrel should be flat or satin black and the outer can be a hammered texture right? Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  3. So still need to glue, but think I've worked out my inner barrel. I also found a creative solution to making my inner barrel more stable. A bit of packing material, a couple of lengths of 1/2" pipe and some elbow grease. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  4. Possibly gonna do it tomorrow. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  5. You're using velcro? Hooks and elastic may help possibly. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  6. So need to clean up the vent holes. But I think the outer barrel shroud is ready to be glued and painted. Also need to decide which of the two pieces I will use for the inner barrel. barrel and yes I have feline assistance. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  7. So went ahead and added the power cylinders and D-ring mount. Had to really wrap the cocking lever and it was still a bit loose so added some E-6000 to it we'll see how it goes in the morning. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  8. I would say the thighs are too low. Raising them should solve the sniper plate issue as well as give you more room to flex. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks. I'm almost more nervous over this and my E-11 than my armor build. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  10. So yeah some updates. Finally decided to replace the tip because the barrel tip was just really jacked up. It was have that jacked up or filled in hex nuts. I went with the filled nuts. Also got a bunch of putty on to rebuild or fill in bad spots. I may have missed some spots, actually I'm sure I did. I also decided to swap out the grip bolt for the real thing I had laying around. Actually found a pair, but they lacked the knurled pattern on the heads. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  11. This, the anovos and a THG E-11 salvage job. So yeah busy with some stuff. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  12. So finally got to trimming and I ended up only taking roughly a 1/4" off, plus removed a bit more return edge. Not a big update, but it is coming along. Also working on a DLT-19 and trying to salvage a THG E-11. So far the blasters are coming along just fine. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  13. So I'm not sure what exactly happened here with the first photo. All the rest of them printed okay, but this one no clue what happened. Quick mock up of where I am so far. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  14. Ejection port cover boxes done. Hopefully my measurements are good, they look good. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  15. Butt stock is about as close as I'll be able to go, just a bit more sanding. Stock extension works well. Drilled it out with a 3/4" spade bit and then used my sanding bit on the dremel to open it up just a bit to get the extension in. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  16. It is definitely a learning experience. Having fun with it which is important but at the same time it's almost as nerve wracking as my near complete armor build. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks. I still need to decide where that hole on the rear of the tip should be. It looks as if it should be between the vent holes of the outer barrel, but not quite in the middle. This is from the reference pictures on Astynaxs thread. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  18. Barrel tip is complete minus the drill hole near the end working on placement of that one. Outer barrel parts are cut and ready for drilling. I've also gotten my feed cover parts done and mocked up. Still working on the receiver outer parts. The Happy Trooper plans seem to square for my liking so I plan on cutting them at an angle like the original mg34. Having to work that out though. You'll noticed I switched out the hole templates as I found that the HT ones were just too far off for me. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  19. So I believe I've found a decent enough cocking handle replacement. Thanks the 420 gods, I joke but a friend had a piece of a glass pipe break and this was that piece, not a smoker myself. However it looks decent enough. The salvaging continues. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks Paul I'm not sure that I'll need to trim more though. Need to get them on for photos and some feedback before I move forward with any further trimming. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  21. Yeah not concerned about the return edge but more that odd notch at the top here, if I go another 1/4" I'll lose that almost completely. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  22. I'm about 5'10" and 170-ish and don't need them, but it is a little tight but manageable. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  23. So the easy way to put it is ideally there is no gap, but depending on your size you may have one. This mostly depends on if you plan to join the 501st and at what level you want to make it. Basic approval you can have some gap, can't recall but think it is a quarter inch, after that you need to add a shim. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  24. I also noticed I'll most likely need to bring them in a bit as well. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  25. So I finally trimmed them by a 1/4" perhaps one more cut to be sure they fit well. Taking a 1/2" in total I think will be enough. My concern is losing the upper detail of the left side if I do. Does this matter? Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
