  1. Thanks, Tim, for your input. I have been following your thread and it has given me hope. My big problem is that he isn't taking orders till after the first of the year, and then it might be months until I get it. I might have to go the TB route, and then build the TK later on the down the road when the armor comes in.
  2. Welcome to FISD, Isaac. Great advice here already, but I can't stress enough the importance of researching. It is especially considering what a significant financial investment that a TK represents !! You will find some amazing builds and a lot of people willing to help you along the way.

Wingnut, awesome video, thanks for the link !!!
  4. Kinda curious about this set-up. How hard is it to adjust the channels while wearing the armor, to go from open conversation to a private one (say with a handler or another trooper) ?
  5. Haui, that is sick !!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Once again: "Buy the item, not the story"...... anything that starts off with a story, telling me how it was 'buried deep in storage' makes my hair stand on end. I've heard some many of these tales in the WWII military collecting arena that I can help but question it. That being said, I think Gazmosis' E-11 build is a helluva lot nicer !!!
  7. Tim, looking forward to hearing what you think about it. Went to the site and saw they also had a cold weather version. For those of us living in the arctic tundra that is now the Midwest
  8. Congratulations, Rod !! Welcome to the FISD and good luck with your build !!

Well, now that you put it that way, Bobby..............
  10. Thanks, Jason. Now I just have to find the damn armor to fit my 6'2" frame without looking like a guy in a black body suit with Chiclets stuck to him !!

Brian Never apologize for what you do. I've always been a firm believer that you keep the people in your life who matter to you, support you, and indulge you in your quests, even when they may be a bit Quixotic. If you find yourself being mocked for pursuing something that you enjoy, it's time to show those folks to the door. Facebook has a way of taking otherwise nice people and turning them into 'keyboard commandos'. If it is any consolation, I can tell you that I'm a fifty year old Sci-Fi geek, who has an awesome wife who indulged countless hours going to TRU in search of Star Wars toys. I also did twenty years with the NYPD, working in some rather interesting places and survived 9/11. Any of my friends who'd like to call me a name for indulging in something I enjoy, better do it with a big smile on their face and a beer in their hand. Sounds like you have an awesome wife and kids, at the end of the day that's all that matters. Now get back to building your armor, you nerd !!
  12. Thanks, Mark. Unfortunately, I'm still in the beginning process, so I guess I will have to wait until then to get access. I was just curious if anyone had done a written update on the patches. I know there was a Star Wars collectors book done a number of years ago that had a large display of the patches included in it.
  13. I apologize if this has been posted / answered before. I did a search, but didn't find anything. I know many of the units produce their own patches, and some have done multiple runs. Does anyone know of a comprehensive list. I ran across one site that had a number of them listed, but it didn't appear that it had been updated since 2010/11. Any help / information would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Seriously, this has to be one of the all time best photos ever !!!! I have one son who constantly does this to me in photos, it's become a running gag. I truly can empathize with the good Sith Lord !!!!
