  1. Yes to your question and my pleasure
  2. Hey guys let me see if I can help here. Hey Jim if you're shooting for L2 or L3 we generally like to see any modifications or alterations made to the back of the armor. That said cutting more just above the knee will alleviate some of your concern but not eliminate it. You're best best would be to add a shim which unfortunately require tearing your armor apart. Long story short, think about your end goal, if it's to be comfortable first then hack away, it's your armor. If you're shooting for the higher levels of accuracy then I wouldn't cut any further than you already have. Have further questions ask away. Cheers
  3. ahhahahahaha If that's the case then judging by my build threads I'm the founder of that club
  4. You're long winded hahaha
  5. I riveted two nylon straps to each waist pouch. The straps are long enough for the waist belt and then some, not to mention the pouches are now vertical. The pauldron is positioned on the right shoulder. The chest pouch is positioned on the left side of the chest near the shoulder. For that I use a nylon strap riveted near the top of the pouch. It's fashioned in such a way it creates a 1" loop. The upper shoulder bell elastic then feeds through the nylon loop back up to the chest to back strap. The pouch hangs neatly on front. I know some put a snap on their backpack strap and mount the pouch to that. HWT Centurion app http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30095-tk-10116-requesting-hwt-centurion-status-ata2/
  6. Novus 2 and a rag for 90% of spot polishing but when I need to spring clean (full armor polish) I use a buffing wheel that fits on my portable drill, and the Novus 2.
  7. Hey Tom welcome and thank you for your EI application. Lets get started. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Welcome trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. We have a couple minor suggestions to mention here. Centurion Suggestions: Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. This is also where we try and get you in the best possible position for a successful Centurion application. At this time we have nothing to add. Great job on your build Tom and congratulations.
  8. Hey Dale welcome and thank you for your EI application. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Congratulations trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review your armor in detail and make suggestions that will help make you look the best you can. None of these suggestions will effect your EIB status. First off, great job on your TM . We do have a couple suggestions so let's take a look. We generally like to see the shoulder bells closer to the chest plate but there may not be a whole lot you can do but. YOu can try tightening the strap at the top and maybe removing more return edge at the bottom. See what you can do. Reference photo 2) Not a huge deal on the following two areas however, remove or soften the uneven section on the upper return edge of your right forearm may help eliminate any future armor bites and the left lower thigh armor space could stand to use some scrap behind it to mask the gap. Reference photos 3) We're also suggesting you remove some of the lower edge of the vertical ab button before it gets snagged on something. Just a bit Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. This is also where we try and get you in the best possible position for a successful Centurion application. At the moment the only areas of concern are the kidney to ab gap. The CRL states For level three certification (if applicable): Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. You will need to bring these two areas together by either tightening the inner straps or by adding shims. The top return edges are to be aligned also. Reference photo Congratulations again for a very clean build. We hope to see you at Centurion soon.
  9. Hey Chris Sly or myself will be with your shortly
  10. Hey Tom Sly or myself will be with your shortly
  11. Hey Fernando before we get started we're requesting you remove the forearm return edge in the areas indicated in the photo. Thank you It should look like this
  12. Hey Dale before we get started can we get a photo of the exterior posterior and cod rivet/snaps?
  13. Alright Jerome let's finish this. Thank you for your Centurion application and thank you for making the suggested corrections. . CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required photos are present. Your armor meets the requirements for L3. Sly and self would like to congratulate and welcome you to the Centurion ranks. Great job. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section Sly, myself and sometimes your peers will suggest corrections that will enhance the look and accuracy of your armor. None of these suggestions will effect your Centurion application but are highly recommended. May mentioned and we agree, the Vcoder is an area where the paint lines should be sharpened a bit they are a bit washed out. They should look more like this. Great job Jerome, it's time to get out there and represent.
  14. Hey Jack, welcome to your EIB review. Thank you for your patience and application, lets get to it. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos are present. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry so congratulations Trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observation made by us and your fellow troopers. The suggestions are to improve the overall look of your armor. None of these suggestions will effect your EIB status. We have a few areas to cover so let's get to it. 1) Helmet paint lines and Hovi tip interior color. All the paint lines could be softened up a bit. They don't have to be perfect. The interior of the hovi tips should be white also. Following your pictures are some reference photos. Reference photo 2) Shoulder bell to chest gap excessive. Your shoulder bell to chest plate gap needs to be reduced a bit. Tightening the connecting strips and removing some of the lower return edge should help. Reference photo 3) Back plate to kidney gap excessive. There should be minimal gap here. Again, tightening the connecting straps should do the trick. Reference photo 4) Butt plate popping out. It should reside just below the kidney and should be flush with it also. Another strapping adjustment should work. Reference photo 5) Forearm gap Reference photo 6) Ab button paint lines should be a bit cleaner. Reference photo 8) Ab button vertical plate has too much edge on it and were recommending you trim it back a bit. Reference photo 9) Top of thigh has some sharp edges were recommending you round off a bit to help prevent digging into your body. 10) Sniper knee to thigh spacing. There's nothing wrong with the sniper knee overlapping the thigh but you might want to install some foam in the back of the thigh itself which should increase some space between the two. 11) Thigh ammo belt too wide. The areas indicated should be trimmed within 1/8" of the boxes. Our #1 concern is this armor maybe overlap constructed which cannot be used at Centurion. Outside of this, hear are a few more areas you'll need to address before you apply. 1) Thermal Detonator has no screws Reference photo 2) Holster placement Reference photo 3) Kidney to ab shall only have one seam. This area will need to be fix for level three. CRL States For level three certification (if applicable): A single visible seam line is present. 4) Left thigh cover strip is too long. The cover strip should stop just above the lower return edge. Reference photo 4) Calf rear cover strip missing. The calves are to have a cover strip on the back outside half of the armor. The cover strip is what covers the inner half, no the armor itself. Reference photo Well that's it, thank you again for a great application, make some adjustments and we hope to see you in the Centurion thread soon.
