Don't forget to let it dry outside or the paint odor will be very strong. I painted mine and waited 2 DAYS outside before trooping but when I was driving the odor was still strong and felt kinda loopy. It lasted bout a week until it was dry. Sent from my HTC0P4E1 using Tapatalk

Unfortunately, due to recent incident with shootings, rules are very strict. Here in the States theaters are not allowing masks, blasters or light sabers. If its a 501st approved event they let you bring whatever. Otherwise you can only dress. I was planning on trooping on my own as many times as I see the movie but that wont be possible anymore. Only approved troops. I prepared for 2 years for this but it could be worse and not be able to troop at all.

this[ is just an update. I tried covering the rear side of the mic with regular scotch tape and works better than electrical tape bec it seals the mic cavity. Do u guys know where can I find the foam cover for the mic?

unfortunately most cinemas have the no weapon or face covered policy. Shame because a trooper without gun or bucket defeats the point. IF you have your armor ready maybe your garrison can allow you as a guest trooper. I would ask in their boards.

in the movies TKs did not have static bursts effects. They had a gentle "click" after each "transmission". The Icomm unit has 7 different sound effects and you can configure it to do 1 sound. However, the voice recognition is very sensitive and will make a sound even if you didn't say a word. the unit can be activated by a ptt cable but the switch is very small or repeats itself after being activated. The usual combo is the Aker amp with the icomm. Crowds love it, i always get comments like "wow it sounds like a stormtrooper". Using the aker voice amp is ok too.

Awesome video! I have been using an action camera for about 5 months and mounted it on the tip of my dlt-19 to get an angle from me and what happens around me. My favorite events to use it is when walking around the event such as a Commiccon, sporting events or anything where we are on "patrol style and I can interact with people. I found that when trooping in "Photo booth mode" is not effective because there is no much going and the video is pretty static. After 5 months of testing it in the field I came to the conclusion that is great because you can capture the spontaneity of a moment that cannot be staged with poses or re enactments. Also I can troop and get pictures from the camera as well without stopping. I posted this video some moths ago and I still love it. .

What are your ideas and experiences of using an action camera when trooping?

what material can I use for finishing strips? I am working on a replacement thigh and need something that I could buy locally and inexpensive. Any ideas?

First buil was a fiber glass kit from eBay. I didnt want to put much money BEC I knew I was going to mess it up. It turned out ok. Better than rubies. People at the con I was dog it really good. Any ideas in the materials for a more accurate tripod? (non functional). The pvc bars are rounded and the original is more square. Any ideas on the material or where to find it? Thanks

For us troopers Rubies has became something blasphemous and laughable. However, I purchased an E-11 during the force Friday madness and painted it black. I was very skeptical about having one. I usually troop with a hasbro doopydoos and my dlt-19. The hasbro is somewhat heavy and I was looking for something light since I carry it on the holster most of the times. The size seems about right, weights nothing and you cant beat the price of $12. If you are looking for just a blaster to troop and not for "accuracy" this may be the way to go. here are some pics (sorry about the low resolution but these were take with a webcam)
