  1. That's going to be my motto too! And hopefully by October we will be looking close to finish. Btw might need a belt kit! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  2. Force Friday has given me a second wind. And I'm determined to make a lot of progress this month despite now working full time. So today I revisited the chest and decided to cut out the holes and slot. Boy was that a task but I think the end result will be worth it! Now Force Friday also got me second thinking and I'm really liking the look of this guy! Time to internally debate! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  3. Yeah exactly, good points. I'm actually afraid filling the holes and doing a lot of bondo work may actually make the paint crack more than it would without. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  4. Okay just got my test pieces back from drying. This piece had no prep work done but basic sanding and priming. Now I'm very happy with the way it looks. However here is close up of the imperfections. I think it will pass and I'll be happy. Im not looking to have this build perfect, especially since it will take a beating because of the material. I think it will look perfect from a few feet away and you'd really have to look and know to find the imperfections. Looking for opinions. Keep in mind I have 3 other kits I need to build.
  5. I have had my kit for well over a year and a half (shame on me). After tackling a Shore build I feel much more confident working on this. Jim armor v1 or 2, unsure. Mitcheg1 V2 helmet and an Anovos. Already have most of the other bits and pieces sourced, only need gaskets. Not much to report yet, I've only begun some sanding of the raw pieces. Currently in the stages of finishing my test piece, butt plate to see how I like my finishing work. As of now haven't filled in any pinholes or small scratches. Going to see if they end up bothering me or are noticeable with my test piece. Alot of work but determined to get it done this time. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  6. Following with interest! Looks awesome. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  7. Any way took some shots this morning. Now to figure out the best way to get some chipping once it cures.
  8. Yeah I see it now. Well a bit too late for that now! Didn't mean to debate or question your knowledge. Just went off my best assumptions. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  9. I figured they were painted with the ears on because of the hdpe gaps seen on many of the originals. So I guess I just kind of made that assumption. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  10. Laying down the red oxide primer as the originals used. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  11. Short delay (life). But here's back at it. Got the second ear fitted on and it's looking great. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  12. Frown is not finished yet. Got tired of filing. Definitely see what your saying about the ear. I may go back and trim them if it bothers me after I get the second ear on there. Thanks for the tips though. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  13. Day One progress. Helmet roughly trimmed out and fitted together. One ear fitted and applied. I'm taking care to be a little rushed and sloppy to get the best replica effect. The brow trim is not flush or even on purpose.
  14. I picked up a HDPE helmet kit that I will be completed as a Stunt version. This is a prop I am using for display, and as a little for fun project. I plan on completing it in the same manner and style the originals were. Hope to have it finished within the next few weeks or so. If there is a better space for this thread feel free to move it.
  15. Honestly, I love my MTK I wouldn't change much about it if anything. It's got nice detail and holds up well. It's got great trim lines. After three years mine is still holding up extremely well. It's an amazing bang for your buck. I also love how it has a little extra room for fitment. Now, if MTK were to do a run of black armor.... Well I'd be all over that. *Wink wink* Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  16. Looks like an FX recast. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk Edit: okay one armor set they offer looks like recast FX and the other who knows. The fact they advertise two different things is a red flag.
  17. I really wouldn't worry about it. I've never heard of any issues, and if there was any I have no doubt RS would take care of you. Keep in mind the helmet and armor may be a bit more bumpy and imperfect than most others. They made a good effort to leave every little imperfection from screen armor. 18. That's interesting. This may be the first negative feedback I've heard about RS. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  19. Yeah, it wasn't something I needed to be buying anyway. It was more of a if it dropped more it would be irresistible.
  20. Waiting and hoping it drops a but more. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  21. I think you have your Kevins confused. As far as I know only KB makes fotk not KW. The actual sculpting by KW for licensed manufacturer is another story though. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  22. I really like this. I actually plastidipped one of my shoulder bells on my TD for a con last week. Looks like I was beat. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  23. Have to find the balance of goofy and serious. Can't be too much of each. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
