Ran Into An Issue With My Bucket

Okay I'll have a picture up by tomorrow once i get one and figure out how to post it. This whole situation is very frustrating and discouraging. :/ -
I have everything put together and am now fitting my ata helmet to my head. Only ive ran into an issue. My eyes press against the lenses. I have no liner or foam in my helmet. is there anyway to make "space"?

Hello there, ive recently finished my bucket and have encountered a slight problem. The long brass screws scrape against my head (painful) and don't allow me to put the helmet on. is there any way to cut the screws shorter? Is is even acceptable to do this?
