  1. Almost wishing I had integrated the pipe build into my hasbro, but its just my first E-11 anyways, will be doing an actual pipe build kit within the next year
  2. Looks good David! I see i've started a trend with the rear of the scope if your able to pressure fit your lens into it, it should be fairly easy to take back out if ya decide to change whatever decal you use
  3. Are you planning to do a clear coat after weathering?
  4. Thanks Kyle! Im actually in the works to providing custom blaster stands with customized paint jobs. Once I move into the house and get the marriage said and done I will begin building stands for sale here, and they WILL look much better than the one I made for myself, as it was really just a fun project to test my limited amount of work room. Heres the clear coat I went with, its still drying now, but will be finally completed tomorrow.
  5. Thats exactly what i am looking to do with the clear coat. I do not want my blaster weathered anymore than it currently is., but don't want it to shine like new either. Hopefully I will pick up some clear coat tomorrow, as I don't have much planned besides catching the World Cup final. Will post concepts of the art work my artist friend has for me whenever he sends them. Instead of a more corporate/standard issue look, I an aiming for a customized look to it. He does excellent work and tends to know exactly what I want without me telling him. Shouldn't be more than a few days before its posted, stay tuned!
  6. Just a small update, meeting with the artist tonight to drop off the blaster stand. Should be about a week before its completed! Also, any preferances on clear coating the hasbro? I was thinking of a satin clear coat, but would love some advice on the matter. Thanks!
  7. Thanks Chris! The armor choice will come to you sir! Everyone has opinions about each of the armors, what it really matters is what you want to get out of it. Im counting the days until we are able to run the machines after hours once the work load steadies. On with your build though sir, when life allows it of course
  8. Whatever works sir! Can't wait to see the finished product!
  9. Noted sir! I work on a CNC Lathe and Mill so I know what ya mean! Mainly using carbide and high speed steel tooling that can be very dangerous as well. Perhaps I can have my programmer create a program or two that I can run on my off time to speed the process up, but we will see. Been working 50+ hours a week as it is so there is barely any off time at the moment :/ . Hopefully things slow down before my wedding and before my armor arrives lol.
  10. There ya go! And yes free handing a circle is tougher than it seems for sure! Wish I would have thought about magnifying sheets! Good pick up sir!
  11. Wowzers! Troopers helping troopers to the extreme here! Thanks! Ill have to print this out ill have more time to mess around after we move into the house. Currently at the mercy of our apartment right now. I plan on having a work area for both wood and general work. Now i can't wait to get it set up and finally use the router i bought a year ago lol
  12. And you can always do a mirrored background, that way both sides of the E11 are displayed without having to walk all the way around
  13. Looks amazing sir! I own a router but have never used it. Your build makes me want to at least give the stenciling a whirl! I always have access to scrap plywood, any pointers on the stenciling?
  14. Small update...i decided to bondo the cracks on my home made blaster stand. Doesn't look like much now, BUT i have a local artist friend who is commishioning a custom paint job off of me. I have bought a lot of his comic book hero and villain art and he is simply amazing! Will be dropping it off to him by the weekend so see what he can stir up for me. He ranges from marvel, to dc, to star wars, and beyond, so i know it will turn out great! Heres the stand now(like i said not much to look at, if i could so it again, i wouldn't have bondo'd but i wanted a cleaner look, as my woodworking abilities are little to none, and i don't have access to the tools required to really branch off)
  15. Don't forget to dremel out the tip so the bolts sit flush on the barrel. just speaking from experience lol
  16. Now that a couple of days have gone by, i am starting to think a clear protective finish wouldn't hurt so it doesn't get destroyed trooping. Suggestions? Ill probably go with rustoleum or krylon.
  17. Awesome sir! Ya planning on dremmeling out the front sight? Its not as big of a pain as it seems
  18. Mine turned out that way lol. Ill just be the clumsy tk!
  19. Thanks Kyle! Ill be looking forward to your completion!
  20. I agree, bondo is not the funnest to work with lol. Just remember, even if the sanding is not perfect, more than likely it can be masked by weathering! The wise words of Glen lol.
  21. Thanks! While i await my armor, i picked up some craft wood from Michaels to make a stand for it as well. Since my woodworking skills aren't all that polished up, and i live in an apartment right now, I bought an "inn keepers" pine plaque sign for the base, a pack of two 1.5"x12" craft wood sticks(.25" thick) , and I have A couple of packs of double wide corner braces i had from a previous project that I will use. Won't be the most spectacular base, but i am aiming for a different method as most that are available to buy look the same.
  22. Awesome so far! Wish I could get something like that together!
  23. Yeah it is :/ i was going to buy from eastbay as they usually run killer deals. They had BOGO free for their name brand products a couple of weeks ago, but i saw the stitching in the pants and almost cried...we dont want fashionable stitching dang it! Vader would force choke us
