  1. It does, looks as some have that dimple painted while other skip it and paint the edges. Was looking to see if any one had a recommendation on that
  2. great looking armor! and congrats trooper!
  3. Inner shims glued on the forearms! Next question, is it best to tackle the shoulder bells AFTER i get my chest and back done? If so, I will probably attack the shins next. ALSO, is it best to paint this part of the frown as well?
  4. And i have the exact armor you have, just holding off on a HWT until after I complete my ANH stunt build(as they are interchangeable)
  5. What I did with the biceps is trimmed the return edge off at the bottom of the outer piece of the armor. It will give you a better fit for your biceps and should alleviate the tightness of your bicep. You can even go as far as trimming as far as half of the return edge on the bottom part of the inner piece of the armor. Hope this helps, it surely helped my biceps out
  6. Did some work Also trying to angle the frowns edges I would like to point out that the frown still needs a little touch up, but thats just where i am at right now adjusting it Comments critisism all very much encouraged
  7. I can squeeze my hand through the wrist side without a TON of pressure, and can also manage to slide the forearms on with my gloves(as i basically bought black rubber gloves that are similar in length to those of dishwashing gloves, but i may trim my glove down a bit)
  8. Decided to hold off on cover strips for the biceps until i get all arm components sized and shimmed. Did some work on the forearms, slightly tapered them as they fit much better at my wrist this way. First i took off the return edge at the wrist side Then did the trimming and fitting, and this is what I got. I did not have my glove on at the time of the picture, but did test fit it and sized the bicep according to me wrist with the glove on. And heres a selfie with the bicep and forearm on I think I will go ahead and trim down the return edge on the inner forearm piece by the inside of my elbow, as I am trying to avoid the oh so loveable armor bite there. Actually got my first one when testing the fit with my bicep on. Definitely not something I would prefer to deal with!
  9. I hear ya! TG did awesome taking care of everyone though! Mistakes happen, no biggie. Hopefully my forearms go a little smoother than lol. Thanks for the tip on the abs!
  10. That would be a neat function indeed! Perhaps even have a post of the day posted on the main FISD forum too! Although it would be a hassle to keep up with! Maybe a post of the week instead or month. Just a small quote taken from any post, short and sweet
  11. My inner bicep shims were a success! Took off all the clamps, magnets, and painters tape tonight and aside from a little extra E6k here and there, it was awesome! Its like opening a present on christmas morning and not getting socks! No pictures tonight, will save those for after I get my cover strips installed. I also started taking the return edges off of the wrist side of my forearms during lunch today, again, no pics yet, its been a very late night and long day for me. Back at it tomorrow! Hopefully! I highly recommend to anyone researching that you do indeed begin with the biceps! I know its been said PLENTY of times from just about all the members with a build thread, but it REALLY does boost confidence for the rest of the armor. I did have to take quite a bit off for the biceps to fit me perfectly, BUT i was able to use that as my inner shim material without much trimming at all. So, SAVE YOUR TRIMMED ABS! I will use the spare abs provided with the kit for my outer cover strips however, as they are a little cleaner than my trimmed scraps. I now have PLENTY of abs to make enough abs paste to last me the rest of this build(barring any newbie mistakes I intend to keep to a minimum)
  12. Come to think of it, I haven't heard anyone here on fisd say they had too many
  13. BOTH biceps now set aside for curing Luckily i found my extra clamps and I bought a boat load of magnets!
  14. Inner shims are now set aside for curing! I think I need more clamps!
  15. I think i used krylon clear coat for mine. Blasters looking awesome!
  16. Looks like I found time! Glue will be put off tomorrow, but the right bicep was MUCH easier after getting the left done
  17. Hopefully I will find time tonight to start the right bicep, if not definitely tomorrow!
  18. Got the return edges off the bottom tonight. Got sidetracked with family so I only had time to really tackle the left bicep AGAIN. After cutting the return edge, I had to trim some more for a better fit. I now have about a finger width at the openings between my arm and the armor. Did the flex test and theres only a bit of pressure, and I can move pretty comfortably!
  19. Yes my "giant guns" touch lol. Its a little pressure, not too much but not too little. Ive been trying to find the dang write up that says exactly which return edges to remove, but I cannot find it for the life of me. I think if i trim off the bottom return edge, i MAY need to trim a hair more off of the bicep. Going to attempt it tonight. Was thinking of measuring the amount I cut on this left bicep and mirroring it for the right bicep using my calipers. The score and snap method is hard when your really fine tuning small bits lol. Perhaps ill use my lexan scissors next time!
  20. Was able to FINALLY break the seal on the armor today. Its been a busy couple of weeks for me, and I did not grt much done at all. I decided to tackle the left bicep, for my own self esteem. I fitted, then marked my cuts on one side, made my cuts, then test fitted with an overlap, and marked the other side, then cut. So here I have the bicep test fitting to my left bicep. Do I need to trim more off? I don't want to continue until I have a good solid answer. Its a tight squeeze getting it over my forearm(i play bass and am a machinist, so my forearms are bigger than normal), almost bigger than my actual bicep lol! So, here are the pics.
  21. Same with me! Hurry up and complete this build!
  22. I can see i almost sold my router, but your thread and instruction said otherwise!
  23. Already planning on that trick going to attempt it with my compass. Thanks!
