Over a year and almost there.
I have to double my efforts for celebration!
Still need: Belt, knee ammo belt, shave down ears more, shoulder straps, handguards, buttons, and a Blaster!
Please tell me what you think! So I can try and fix it. Some things are E6000 and some zap a gap so I can't fix it.
Thank You!
Preparing for some ABS paste.
Lets see how I screw up this one! LOL.
I hope a lot of future troopers read my posts. It will really help them out on what not to do! LOL
Looks Great!
Any problems with the snaps?
Looks like this is the way I will be going. I already built double nylon snap plates and going to be gluing them on soon.
DAMAGE REPORT AS FOLLOWS:
Before the holidays I was using the brackets to join my armor together. I made the mistake of tightening the screws too tight.
The Loctite I used to keep the nuts and bolts from coming undone made the cracks worse. The Loctite is not meant for plastic and it even says so on the package. (Did not read that part until after the fact) This caused cracks and chips of plastic on my armor.
I would still recommend the screen accurate bracket method, just don't screw them on too tight like I did!
I'm back! It's time to finish my TK! Funny how life gets in the way of our hobbies and things we want to do.
I guess working and paying bills so my kids can eat is a little important. LOL
Here is a report on the the damage I did before the Holidays.
Please help me Lord Vader, you are my only hope!
I'm hoping Santa will bring me some new parts that I messed up on.
I'll be back after the holidays! Have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year everyone!
Well, I did it again.
I was putting my kidney and butt plates together using brackets and I must have screwed the screws too tight because now I have cracks everywhere.
So frustrating
I will put up pictures and give a damage report a lot later. Right now I'm going to eat my blaster.
I know, I don't see why they had to change the Stormtroopers in the new movie. The Tie Fighters look the same. oh well.
No, I have not fixed the ears yet. I am probably going to do them last, I don't want to slow my Armor momentum.
I am currently doing my straps and waiting for the E6000 on the nylon snap plates to to dry.
Thermal Detonator spray painted with gray testors.
Evilboy metal clips. Painted black, #6 32 3/4 inch round head machine screws.
Total Length 7 1/2 inches, with little to no gap.
Thank you Steve, Kyle and Adam.
I will try and take them down a little more. It just sucks, it's going to take away time from finishing the rest of the armor.
Plus, I'm still really new at this and might screw it up. But I will try my best!
Don't give me that "do or do not, there is no try" stuff, that's what rebel scum says! LOL
So when it lined up i had a major problem. I had moved the line back because the width of the ear was now an issue.
I had to glue a small strip for strengthen it because the lower ear screw hole and screw..
So now the width of the ear barely covers it and the pop rivet too. If I trim more of the ear the width will show both
the pop rivet on the right and the split on the left. In fact, you can barely see the start of the split on the bottom of the ear.
Help me Lord Vader! You are my only hope!
