  1. Thats funny. I do have a ata kit but decided for a rs bucket because i think the ata bucket is a little bit so smooth and just not as sharp and accurate than the RS props. Id choose the rs bucket over every other helmet. At least for now. Maybe the anovos armor and helmet will blow us all away.
  2. LOL Yeah you're right.. True that...
  3. Dude. If you're used to ANH because of owning one and most build threads are about ANH troopers/buckets, the rotj looks so darn strange! Don't get me wrong. Your build is great. Seeing a ROTJ just kinda feels funky to me. But,.. Good job so far!
  4. PVC is (in most cases) more glossy and more "white". I don't really like the PVC thing, especially because the suits in the movie were ABS. So I prefer ABS. But i am still a newbie. I also don't think they gonna produce Something that is not 501st acceptable. That would be a stupid move. I really think about preordering a set... Hmmmm...
  5. This is going to be very interesting. Anovos is actually very very affordable. So... Ata (AFFORDABLE trooper armor) will get a hard competitor. I am very happy with my ata but as nice as it is... There are still a lot of things i really dislike. It's gonna be interesting if anovos will have a better chestpiece, shoulder bells, ab plate Detail. But i guess Anovos will have better/more accurate details. We will see!
  6. Nice! I doubt anyone will start picking your armor apart as long as you know the important parts and things you need to take care of. Are you aiming for centurion?
  7. Thats true, there is a a and b side. I remember now but i didn't really care. I decided having the more scratched side as the side i put the glue on. I sanded it a bit to give it a better texture for the glue to stick but i doubt that this is necessary. I would suggest to cut freehand. Just don't try to be over-clean in terms of cutting. I mean... You can do that but this is not the way they did it in the movie. If you check some screen shots you will see how rough the armors are assembled. I am almost done with my ata and start roughing it up a little bit to make it look like a Trooper from the movie and not a idealized armor. But that depends on yourself... Long story short: just cut. Measure twice, cut once. True to that. But don't worry about 100% straight lines. But as always: my opinion!
  8. You are prepared just perfectly. Wow. I was not nearly as prepared as you are. Not at all...! You will run into some issues for sure but you already minimized that possibility to The lösest. One tip i can give you: Get a iron. Sealing iron or whatever you guys in the us call that. If you wanna go super accurate you need to modify your thigh and the belly with the iron.
  9. Yeah more ROTJ for Germany! Erstmal hallo und viel Spaß beim basteln! Is that your first armor? Back to your question: actually i can't tell what part is which by seeing the picture but if you look at it you should be able to tell by yourself. Hold them together and see if it fits. Imo it's really hard to do that wrong. The thighs are super easy to identify. To shin is a little harder but just check your own. I mean... Your real one. I saw a video where it's explained pretty well but cant find it right now.
  10. Looks great!!! Congrats! mtk seems to be a really decent set of armor. And you did a good job on it, too.
  11. Nice. I think this is gonna be my next build as soon as i am done with my TD. And this build is just excellent! But what else to expect from a real pro....?.. :) ;) Paul, BTW: Send u a text on the MEPD. Don't wanna push you, just a hint!
  12. Looks really nice. I can imagine its much more comfortable than a TK. Is it?
  13. Flametroopee is so killer.. Changed my mind like 25 times since the design was officially shown at the celebration. I am so excited about all this...
  14. I understand many people are concerned with the whole anovos thing. But i thought about that and after seeing this picture 0----------- i think there is a good thing too. If there is only 1 supplier, all the troopers will be (or at least when assembled correct) very accurate and they look all the same!!! So check out whats the negative thing about a whole bunch of suppliers is: http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-images/Film/Pix/pictures/2007/07/17/Jim_starwars460.jpg Same troopers, everyone looks different. Dont get me wrong, its always the "builders pride" and the opportunity to chose the builder you want to buy from. But i just noticed the pros..
  15. Empire isn't called Empire anymore. I think it's called "first order", at least that is what it says on the suites that are displayed at celebration. That explains why the logo has changed. Yeah dude! I wanna know who is on the stage sooooo bad! Maybe it's Gollum? Who else could it be?
