Working on the helmet, was a pain in the butt to assemble the top and the back piece together but i finally did it. Then i installed the brow and the front to decide how i want my helmet to be and drilled holes on both sides. I have an old ATV helmet laying in the basement, i will try and see if i could use the layer inside as this helmet layer, i was thinking i could glue pieces of velcro inside and stick the layer inside so if need to wash it, just take it off, wash it and put it back in! Anyone ever tried that? What do you guys think? Ideas? Painted the inside black. Kitchen in total mess... lol So i started to paint the helmet and this is where i need your advices! Is it ok? One coat of black, will do the gray later tonight or tomorrow if its not dried yet. Back Left side: Right: Side: And i was wondering about the Hovi mic tips, i'm not sure if they need to be matte black or gloss black? And i have to leave the round top edge as it is right? I just realized i forgot the ears... Back to painting I will be waiting for your advices, before going any further with the helmet... Martin

Lol, love that happy face! Good job Peter! I'll let more experienced Troopers chime in for your back but it seems ok, maybe it's the kidney that is too low... I just started my helmet tonight, it's fun but and frustrating at the same time, mine is in 3 pieces... Arrgh Your looking great Pete, happy for you, your almost done bud! Martin.

Leo's TK ANH Build [*ATA]
Rawgee replied to RampantLion's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Very nice build Leonard! Love the helmet! You did a good job, inspiring! -
Thanks Walter! Yours as well! @Tolo It would have fitted you like a glove! Haha But seriously i will probably end up buying another helmet at some point... First the ears doesn't seem like they can fit properly, i'll do my best anyway and the overall shape, it looks more narrower than others, i like wide helmet with low-brow... Anyway we'll see how it turns out... I'm working on it right now, i just cut the teeth, i will continue tomorrow. What do you think? Personally i like them like that, i wanted them to be round shaped rather than square... For a change i used Pandatrooper's ATA Helmet Build as Reference.. haha http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/14806-how-to-assembling-ata-abs-helmet-1/ Ended up doing a second coat on the buttons:

Those thighs man... Wow they gave me a hard time... First i've cut the front leaving 10-11mm on each side so i can use a 20mm cover strip. Tape the front together (using the tape as the cover strip) then i ended up squeezing both parts on my thigh, bottom ridges aligned as most as possible, then asked the wife to tape it, remove it, make pencil marks where each edges ends as a guide in case they move, then find the middle in the back, make a pencil mark on top directly on the edge of both parts then repeat for bottom, draw your line, double check everything, cut, assemble and it ended up not so bad... I'm sorry i didn't took any picture of the process but if you have any questions feel free to ask i'll do my best to help you out! Like others said, post your photos here so we can help! From the first initial tests, they seem close but not as much as i thought, but to be honest i would cut off 1cm of the top of the thighs all the way around just to be sure but i know i won't be able to do the return edge, i've tried heating a few times and it didn't went well... I'll take a picture later to show you. It's crazy how much time i spend on the forum doing research compared to assembling... I have like 20 tab open at the same time... But i guess it's paying off so far, good job on your build as well Peter! Just glued the shoulder straps, again no picture during the process but basically for the left side i stacked two piece of strip together and glued them under the first bump to add more surface touching the chest, for the right side there is a bit of an angle on the chest so i couldn't do the same thing because it would add more rigidity to the shoulder strap with pieces of strip under the first bump resulting in unable to bend it to fit the chest... If that makes sense? :S So since i am not a big guy i decided to leave 6 bump of the shoulder strap on the chest, more would look weird... I have found these pics on WideAMG's build http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/25538-wideamgs-rs-props-pvc-anh-stunt-build/page-4 Exactly what i did but i only stacked strip pieces under the first bump: (i suggest using very fast dry glue for this part, that's what i used for the whole build but since there is not much surface that sticks to the chest it's more efficient)

I bought the latest version, first thing you should know is this kit needs a lot of trimming and fitting if your an average sized person. Like Tolo said, the helmet is probably the weakest thing about this armor, other than that its nice and glossy and it came with a lot of extra stuff to make a TD if you want. I had a real bargain pm me for more info. My build if you're interested http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/25853-big-brown-box-has-arrived/

Finally i decided to do some painting... (Model Master 2715 French Blue - Testors 1138 Gray Note that Model Master is made by Testors) The brush i used:

Salut cousin Germain! I will be using Pandatrooper's tutorial for bending belts ---> http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/8757-howto-get-a-good-heat-bend-on-your-belt/ Last night i pretty much trimmed every part of the body, i am probably going to start the strapping tonight or tomorrow. I seem to be better when i work on the build at late hours, is it like that for you guys? Right now i am considering doing a strapping system like the one Pandatrooper's did: Not screen accurate but practical!

Thanks Peter! I will try that i just wanted to make sure there wasn't a guideline to follow... Here is what the bottom looks like so far: (Without the knee ammo pack, as soon as i receive the rivets i will install it)

Happy new year to you as well Ingrid! Thanks to the staff for coming in, i should have known better in the first place, the page doesn't mention FISD and 501st at all anymore and i will use good judgment trust me on that, i don't see why my Facebook or my personal Instagram should be clean and not this page! That was just not me i guess i just wanted to please everyone... Sorry and thanks again, Martin.

Ok been away for a while, Christmas time obviously but also my wife had a shoulder surgery, basically one arm is n/s... So i had to take care of her and step up in the house and just to add a little bit to that, my daughter had a concussion... Anyway back on the build, both thighs are done now, i realized i am not too good at taking picture during the process but here is the final product: i need to fit the knee ammo pack or battery pack...lol People seems to call this part whatever they feel like... haha So i was wondering (i didn't find the answer on the boards) what is the length it should have from the last box to the edge? And what did you use to do the round angle at the edge, can i use my TD or there is an angle degree i should know? This chart doesn't say how much i need to cut... I just trimmed the shoulders straps and belt: And now i am not sure what i should do next... I could do the TD, i had aluminum strips laying around here 1inch large, 2.5mm thick and long enough... Would that be good? For the rest my problem is that i wasn't able to find any of the rivets locally, so i am waiting for Echo's kit... I think i will start trimming the body parts and i might take a look at the helmet... omg can't believe i just wrote that... This helmet scares the crap out of me.. :/ Finally i chose to go with velcro to close the calves, i might change it later but for now that will be the best for me i think, i notice most of you guys calves seems to be closing easily, mine i have to force them together to close them, means the elastics will have a great amount of tension which results in very hard to remove, correct me if i am wrong but i did some testings yesterday and i wasn't really convinced that will work. I need to go out to buy the velcro, i'll take a picture of me wearing boots, calves and thighs later!

This is my own personal page, nothing to do with whitearmor.net, mine is called The White Armor because a Stormtrooper wears a white armor...So please stop referring to it as the property of the FISD, i created it and decided that i wanted to call it The White Armor, its only an Instagram profile page, not a website promoting stuff or selling stuff in the name of the FISD...Nowhere it claimed to be affiliated with whitearmor.net. I feature members that are very happy with this page so far... This is getting very embarrassing and childish... My personal Instagram? @rawgee, i invite you to meet my wife, and my two kids. My TKID? I don't have any because my armor is not complete yet. For your last question i think i already answer that one! I've had enough of your arrogance and your lack of respect my young fellow, i am done! Martin.

This is not going anywhere, seems like you dont want to see my point... Check this out, i am a father of a sick kid, i heard that the 501st makes appearance in hospitals too give morale to the kids, i am an Instagram user so i think to myself i'll try and get in touch with a 501st member and use the #501st and see if it leads me to a member... You see where i'm going now? During my research i come across this lady in a sexy stormtrooper outfit doing a sexy pose... Viewing the profile i quickly realize she is a member so i start to think, that might not be appropriate for my kid... Would you want a girl in this outfit to come visit your kid in a hospital? How does that photo represent the 501st in a good/better way? Even if its just one photo... That was my point Derek, if you would have been the type that do not endorse this type of behavior i would have completely understand your point and it might have had a better influence on this situation, but you are doing the same in your everyday life... According to your IG profile... That's what surprised me... Again i totally agree with your opinions/concerns and i would never want to give the 501st a bad reputation and that's why i deleted the photo of the lady grabbing her breast with a bucket on... As far as i'm concerned the guy showing the middle finger is directly linked with the t-shirt he his wearing which is total humor/funny, we are in 2014 not the 50's... I am pretty sure anyone who see's this photo can figure this one out... Hope we are done with this, your opinions/concerns has been valuable to me and if for some reason this page goes against core values of this group i hope the administration team will contact me and i will make any changes needed and even shut it down if needed as this group is more valuable to me than an Instagram profile page... Feel free to PM me if you feel like so... Martin

You know what Derek, i agree with what you say here, this morning i was about to post a picture of a lady in underwear, sexy but classy, with a little Stormtrooper figure looking at her... And i thought, my son might see this, he's only 11, so i decided not to... Plus i agree that i don't want the 501st to be associated with mature content. Where i get confused and i mean no disrespect here is that its you that is against all this but even you stated your girlfriend @jangofettish as appeared on @force_girls and when i look at your IG profile, there is a lot of mature content with 501st hashtags... Like your girlfriend half naked with wearing parts of an armor... Again no disrespect don't get me wrong but i don't understand, your actions do not represent your words here... @thewhitearmor is a public profile meant to regroup Stormtroopers enthusiasts wether they are disney troopers or dude who wears an eFx bucket or 501st members, personally i don't judge people because they don't have the time, knowledge or money to get into armors like we do here on FISD/501st, in the end they are all Stormtroopers enthusiasts like we are and share the same love for Star Wars, why should we turn our back on them and point fingers at them... As far as i'm concerned i don't want them to be in the 501st, if they want to i will tell them to come here and get educated on our community/movement and requirements... In conclusion i thank you for your intervention, i will definitely manage this page carefully as i don't want it to be a source of conflict with the 501st!

If you are an Instagram user, come follow @thewhitearmor! This is a page i created to feature as most Stormtroopers as possible from the 501st/FISD, even Stormtroopers fan that only have bucket that takes cool photos and even funny pictures or toys but always Troopers related. So in the end this page will be a gold mine of Stormtroopers pictures, photos and funny stuff! If you are on Intragram post your name below, so i can follow you and use your photos to feature on the page. I always tag your name in the comment so you get the credit you deserve. Rawgee

your Christmas gift is THAT! Darth Vader deluxe (toy), Stormtrooper Premium Format (Sideshow Figure) and a Stormtrooper keychain! Merry christmas to all of you, i wish you the best and spend some quality time with your family!

That's a very good price indeed, thats the armor i bought a few weeks ago and personally I am satisfied with the product, it is made for a bigger size person but if a new guy like me can work it out and trim it to fit my size anyone can! Don't be fooled by the price, it's high quality and I recommend it to anyone, the only cons I have is the size of the parts that need a lot of trimming and the helmet that came in 3 piece instead of 2... I agree that it's a bit provocating to sell on ebay at that price... But we all need bread and butter on our table...
-
I dont think that something you should be scared of but if it bothers you esthetically I suggest trying to fill it with CA glue (Cyanoacrylates) like Zap-a-gap or Insta-Cure+ and old it 15-30 seconds...

Cant wait to see the whole thing together! Outstanding work! Wow!

Thanks, i really appreciate your help and advices! Absolutely! Today he asked me if we could make him a Jawa costume...haha As for the hooks i just can't figure how will i be able to close it if the hooks are inside and i can't reach in... I really want to go with the velcro because of that. If i don't have space for my fingers to reach in, how you do that? Right Shin/calf done: Both cover strips close's on the inside (Thanks Germain) Front view: My progress so far: I'll try to post a picture of me wearing all that stuff tomorrow Now i need to go buy the stuff that i don't have yet, which would be: Snaps Split rivets?? Do i really need those? For what and how many? White elastics (multiple sizes) Black elastics (multiple sizes) Frown screen for the teeth holes Foam Am i missing something? I have all the elastic sizes write down on a paper.
