Thanks Germain, actually its the slack inside of my forearm that bothers me but some pieces of foam will do the job for now and i might try to re-do it at some point... My local hobby store told me he has some stuff to "unglue" so i might give it a shot! As for the biceps yeah they came out better than i thought! Now i'm working on the Shins, my 11 years son helped me to draw the line in the back for sizing. I like to ask him to help me, i want to make him feel he's part of the project! Here is my left Shin with the Knee Plate on, not sure if i am going to use velcro or hook and eyes method for the rear(calf). This is a 20mm cover strip and it will probably be the same in the back, i am not a huge guy so i think i will be able to respect all of the sizes standards for cover strips. (5'10", 180lbs)

Ok so i finally manage to do the biceps, man they gave me a hard time! NE Armor is definitely for bigger size people... The left one with the spoon print was the easiest, but the right one... The two parts were ok if you have big arms, a little trimming and that's it but if not, problems starts... Unfortunately i got so concentrated in the process that i didn't take as much photos as i wanted! But here is the few that i took, hope it help and tell me what you think... Here is the right biceps, as you can see, a lot of trimming and cutting needed to be done! I even had to twist it a bit to make everything fit ok. I had to trim the bottom side to make it straight otherwise it had a curve... Final results: (please believe me it wasn't easy, if any of you NE builders need help just ask) My progress so far! Oh i forgot, i got my TK Boots in the mail!!!

LOL! Dude, come in Quebec City and give me a hand...lol I really thought i could do that in a week but it is a bit more complicated than i thought and i don't want to mess it up... But i'll sure have some spare time next week during the holidays!
-
Thats what i tought! Thanks i'll post pictures of my progression later!
-
Did you remove the edges on top also?
-
Merci Fred, jusqu'à maintenant ca va, se sont les termes/expressions spécifiques à la construction de l'armure qui me pose problèmes parfois mais je fini toujours par trouver! Si y'a quoi que se soi je te fais signe, merci encore! Well it seems to me that on screen there is no return edges on the forearms and thats why i got rid of them and i just pop my ANH blu-ray in and it looks like there is no return edges on the biceps as well...
-
Congrats on your approval, i can't wait for that moment myself!
-
The forearms seemed to me like the easiest to start with, depends on which armor you're buying I suppose... Thanks for the great words man, I think there is some way better build thread then mine on these boards but thanks, ill try and do my best to help future Troopers! Ok so now on to the biceps. The NE armor has a weird curve in the biceps, not natural... Should I leave it like that (Redforce picture as reference) or should I cut and even it, that means I would have to get rid of the return edge... What do you guys think, any ideas? I feel like I should leave the return edge...

I was not expecting to have fun doing this but wow! I like it a lot! It was hard getting started, figuring which part was left and right etc... But when i did my first cut i said to myself okay this is going to be fun! Ok i'll be back later, biceps are waiting for me!

Here are a few others pictures. I've complete both of my forearms, i'm happy with the result, it could be better but for a first timer i think i handled myself not so bad. The only thing that bothers me is my left forearm, i've made my cuts very straight but i should've give it an angle because its a bit loose around my wrist. I included some pic of my Dremel tool because i think this thing is awesome, all of my inner curves were done with this tool, it was so easy and precise! About to get started on the biceps!
-
What do you mean? Because when I look at other builds especially NE builds they look the same, maybe it's the angle of the photo? You kinda scare me, I feel like should've post picture before gluing...
-
Thanks again Glen, seconds before you posted this i came across the tutorials section of the website with the answer i was looking for... I should've dig a bit more before asking... But my problem is mainly the language barrier, some of the terms used i cannot understand... But i'll get through it! So this is my first forearm (right), am i on the right path? I used what was left from the cover strips to strengthen the joint and i glued it inside. I trimmed all of the return edges, is that ok and will that be acceptable for Centurion? I'm having so much fun right now, i hope i did not screw up? Martin.
-
Thanks Glen, Ok so that tells me that i will built a Stunt version (i only have parts for a stunt version) but i would like to go for Centurion. First of all in the CRL's it says that overlap construction is not allowed... Do the right way is to fit both pieces together and add a cover strip on each joint and glue them? Cover strip hiding the joint?
-
Yes thanks! I'm just not sure which built to choose, what are the big differences between Stunt and Hero?

It's a NE armor (mytkarmor)! Can't wait to get started but I have a busy weekend! I'll keep you guys posted! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

7 days after my order, here she is! Tonight I have a dinner with friends and co-workers buy tomorrow I'm unboxing and building! Stay tune for a build up post and i'll sure need some advice from the more experienced Troopers here! It's going to be a Stunt and i'll do my best to make it Centurion straight away, why not? Troopermaster is right, especially with NE armor, line up elbow and trim wrist and get rid of the return edge. Post picture of your build!

Thanks a lot Red, i'm pretty sure this will help others as well! I'll probably go shopping today because from what I see on the tracking USPS site, my package won't take years to arrive! Thanks again!

I am building a kids TD for my 5 year old
Rawgee replied to tightlines's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
Can't wait to see it coming along! Just so I get an idea, how much did that cost you? I know my son would love me to build him an armor! -
Hi Redforce, i am waiting for my NE armor to arrive hopefully next week! I will be using your post as reference that's for sure, its a very nice build and very inspiring as this will be my first try at this kind of project! I was wondering if you could list what was not included in the box, so i can start gathering everything i need to do the build! If you want to you can also add the tools you used that would be useful as well. Thanks Martin.

Wow very nice build, the best I've seen so far! Like others say, very inspirational!
