Well, I thought he meant these: So the "silver mylar strips" are the silver tape going around the canister and it only comes with FX? What are those in the picture called then?

I didn't make the clips go all the way around so they are visible in the front, cuz that would look bad as I have them quite close to each other, while in the movie they are wider and further apart. I kept the silver tape I got with my FX kit incase I decided what to do. I first tried to put the strips in front where the clips went down, but looks bad...... I could put them further apart, like in the movie, but the clips doesn't go down at those positions.. so.. couldn't make up my mind...... so went with no front strips.... Can't be arsed to cut more metal thingy... so has to be the silver tape when I decide what to do in the front.

Hi, will do I placed the hengstler going by this picture cuz I thought this guy knew what he was doing : Hehe, nice idea . But I'm not satisfied with these shots. Wish I would hold my gun in an upward, sort of leaning it on my right shoulder position in pic A which could be used for my main shot at 501st and here. Need to borrow that camera again. Hi, been quite some time since I last posted here . But have visited this site almost everyday looking at TK pictures for comparison and stuff. The reason why I make this post is because I want to go Elite, and was wondering if what I've done so far has all the necessary stuff covered. I've been very busy for quite some time now with work etc, but the last 3 weeks now I forced myself (as I'm also lazy ) to finally finish my armor cuz the urge to get my number and go elite has been on my mind everyday since I got my new helmet back from Mike (TK-4510). Before these last three weeks, I didnt do much on the armor, as the legs were driving me crazy. They have this wide oval shape horizontally and no matter how much I trim at the back of the thighs, the shape wouldn't get any better, still oval and just because of that I couldn't get them up high enough. I read here that trimming in the back, a V shape or whatever would solve it, but nope..... so I went back and forth... sometimes weeks went by before I did anything new to the armor... I first even tried using a hairdryer to reshape the legs, held it close for 5+ mins while I had it bent in the shape I wanted, but as soon as I released it, it went back to the old oval horizontal shape :/.... I even boiled up some water, and gentle held the parts in the water, this made them reshapable, but almost immediately after they touched water, the edges started to curve, arghhh!... tried to bend them back and stuff.... oh well... being put off by those darn thighs, another 3 weeks went by... then I tried a new hairdryer, and WOW... 4 mins or so and they finally kept their shape. To get these darn FX thighs up high, and having quite big legs like I do, these pieces when combined must be oval shaped vertically (which I knew all the time, but couldn't get them to stay).... oh well, finally I had the ovally shapped vertically and now the lame "barrel" look went away by alot, and they went up higher.... I was so happy ... BUT, I have trimmed too much at the back... so had to use big shims to cover the gap... velcro and glue didn't cut it.. I had to rivet them, and also in front of the thighs.. I used the smallest one I could find.... Enough typing.... could be spelling errors and stuff that doesn't make sense ... I just typed right off my head while waiting for my pizza to arrive... will make a better explanation of things in the "Request Expert Infantryman Status" section when I have my TK number. Here's a before picture, just for fun .... the dropboxes and canister were still in the box... with those on I did 2 troops with a buddy.... meh, not knowing what a stormtrooper actually should look like And here's what it looks like now (Will do the chest mod someday) A: Front (duh....) Only real good looking part of the armor is the helmet . Oh well, food time..... see ya again when I have my number.....

I personally think you should lower the eyebrow on the left helmet, as right now it has a sad and worried look to the eyes

Yeah, either lower the resolution or lower the size of the browser window.

I too prefer them animated, I'm so used to it from all other forums.. and yes, a certainly is missing. Most common ones: 4. on some computers with standard moniters... The Header overlaps the bar underneath... so you cant access anything in that bar. Only happens to me if I lower my resolution.

Yup, there ya go... but they don't mention anything about smells ...... maybe only our costume boots that has it.

Fish glue? . Never heard of such a glue name before, unless you are joking . Doesn't smell anything like fish anyway though, so why call it "fish" glue?... hmm. maybe because it could be made from stuff in a fish, like I've heard glue is made from horses hooves... but that glue isn't called horse glue, is it?... Sorry for rambling away....

Hey, look at that . Why didn't I read about this until now?... guess it hasn't been mentioned before, or just very rarely. So, why was the silver tape introduced with the FX?... to compensate for the metal hook thingy that holds the CO2 to the belt?... that shouldn't be the reason though as the hook thingy doesn't go all the way around the cannister, it's just on the back.... hmmm.... strange with the silver tape...

Oh, so silver on the cannister is not screen accurate?, didn't know that . Also thought silver was required for elite, or else it's an unfinished cannister. Got a piccie of a CO2 from the movie?.. please

My FX holster was dyed black inside and outside, no natural tan anywhere, but could easily get the natural tan to show if I sandpaper a bit.

Mine is brand new, only worn for 5 mins and they smell alot. The smell isn't very unpleasant, but it's strong somehow and I don't like that . But like I said, they are kept in a plastic bag and smell 0% until they are taken out. I think it's the black rubber that smells.... smells a bit like new car and oil.

Yeah, had the same problem, still do sort of.... but when not wearing the armor, I have the boots in a closed plastic bag... they smell nada then.

Yup, it was one of those. They look bigger on picture than they actually are. I just handslapped it and threw it in the toilet.

Yeah, I could also easily figure out why some are tan, as like you say, they weren't dyed on the inside... but I wonder which color I should go with on my straps?... tan or black, which is most common?. Seeing some elites here on the board, most seem to have black. but my guess would be to have the natural tan color. meh, nvm, I'll keep it black dammit, while typing the above, a mosquito "bit" me....

So, ehm. Stormtroopers have 2?, but Han and Luke had 4?. dammit, should have added only 2 to my belt then. Uhm, another thing I wonder.... I see some having their straps of the belt attached in the front of the holster, some have them attached from behind, some have the straps in brown, others in black.... which one suits for a standard stormtrooper`?

I even got it signed . Wanted to ask you to do that, but I forgot. Now when I got my new helmet, it's time to start working on my armor. I got all I need. What I have to do is: Install foam and voice system in the helmet Replace the TK buttons Replace the plastic belt Debarrelalize the legs Remove some visible screws here and there Add snap-system Cut the front and back pieces Shim some stuff and probably more Thanks everyone!, especially the ones involved in this project. Recieved the helmet today! I got a box with some foam in it... Oh yeah, and then I got these bonus items : 1. The "OMG" Rebuild display plate 2. The Triktoys Voice system 3. The speakers for the voice system, they will go in the arreators on the helmet (which are empty right now) 4. A set of normal arreators 5. 2x 501st cards, 1x 501st patch and 1x 501st sticker
