  1. Just thought I'd let people know that I've been revieving an error for most of the day when I attempted to access the forum. I'd just get a blank page that would state there was an "IPS error", and to attempt to refresh the page by clicking a link, which didn't work. I did a little research to see if I could figure out the problem, but I didn't see any particular solution (I guess because it can be any number of issues). Not sure if all the garrision sites are on the same server, but perhaps with running streaming video on the server from the event today could be taxing the server? That's a lot of connections to have to maintain if everyone who has the web cam page open is hitting the server for a request every 10 seconds. Just specuating of course. May have nothing to do with it. From what I read, you can see the IPS errors by going to the forum directory/cache/. Not sure if this means anything, or is helpful, but I thought it worth mentioning.
  2. Not that I need to stick my .02 in here, but really if you do any photoshop at all, it really shouldn't take that long. I messed with an old pic I found here the other day on the site (just for fun). If it took me an hour it was a long time, and it was a lot of cleaning up and finding some good backgrounds to 'fuse', but fun to do. I do this every now and then when I need a break from things. So if there is anyone who has some pics they really like, I'd be happy to transport them to the SW Universe .
  3. wife beater... lol. Yes, I feel bad as well for those who will get suckered by the marketing (which is all about opportunity and placement). You really do have to do your homework, though. I remember my first jaunt out here when buying armor was more of a fleeting dream, and not so much a soon to be reality, it was pretty intimidating, but I learned a lot pretty quickly.
  4. I've been lurking on the site for a few weeks now, but really started reading a lot of the posts this last week. I haven't recieved my armor yet, but I want to be ready when I do. It's a great resource (and some entertaining reading if you find this stuff fascinating). I've already ordered some 'extra's myself; custom buttons custom hovi's with speakers custom lenses (I always liked the emerald look) I'm still looking around for a good canvas belt and some under armor wear (still not sure if Wyatt is starting up production again any time soon). It has been a great community, and everyone has been wonderfully helpful. Be sure to get in touch with your local 501st as well. They were invaluable in getting me started on the right track. I'm looking forward to trooping with them once I get my kit and get it together, but I'm definitley not in a rush. Enjoying the process; even if I haven't done any real 'work' yet.
  5. That's just scary man! I was considering a 1 piece myself, but after talking to some locals, the two piece seems to work much better for 'real life' situations when it comes in very handy. I'll have to check out wyatts.
  6. THank Noel. I appreciate it. I think an FX for my first is going to work out. If I am trooping, and really love it that much, I will go for an AP set and really do it up!
  7. I'm still not quite ready to order mine yet. I was first looking at Doug Barret's armor. Good price and would ship quick, but then I started perusing here, and really thought to get into something a bit more authentic. I got in touch with AP, but they've got quite a backlog, and trimmingi it out will take quite a while. I've now thought about RT, but haven't heard anything back yet. Waiting patiently. Funny, though, the more I wait, the more I go back and forth between the three; all the pro's and cons. Driving me nuts! I think I'll go order my hyperfirm e-11 to make me feel better
  8. Well, it's been a fun few days perusing the forums and seeing what everyone else is doing. I msyelf have been an avid fan for years, and finally decided that it was time I lived the dream and joined the imperial ranks. I've been doing a lot of research (I actually read the whole armor history thread... omg)... and I don't know if I'm going to go completely fanatical on accuracy, but I do want a decent set of armor that will fit well, and not spend eons trimming and such. When it comes down to it, the little kid staring up at me is not going to care if my chest plate is a little off . I think after all is said and done, I'm really beginning to lean towards an RT. I'm 5'11" and about 190 (give or take a few depending on the day), so a little more room wouldn't hurt, and I'm raelly don't want to spend eons trimming everything. My modling skills are definitely rusty, so I'm a little nervous to say the least, but I really want to do this.
