  1. So it's been a bit since I've updated my build thread. With a new baby and then funds running low building had to be put off for a bit but after slowly acquiring the $$ needed to finish I was able to get to this point. I haven't posted any updates as I was more concerned about getting work done with the limited time I had then to take pics and post. Now that I am done for BASIC approval I've thought it was time to update. I plan on going for centurion later but my goal is to lose the weight and not have to shim. Let me know what you think. I've taken about 1.5-2" off the top of the thighs and 1" off the bottom of the shins. Still need to cut out the back for movement (stairs aren't a good thing right now), and paint the rivets white. 9. Another great newsletter!
  10. Going to try this tonight and see how it turns out. GAH!! This is so nerve racking. Thanks for the tips!
  11. Thanks Mathias! I'll give it another go tonight when I get home from work. Did you clamp the ruler to the plastic? Or just hold it with your hand?
  12. Oh man. I just started on my cover strips and I have a confession...I cannot cut a straight line if my life depends on it. I tried using a level and clamps (clamps popped off). Tried using my own weight (knife went under the level). Anyone have some good tips cause anything at this point will help.
  13. 5'8 oh man..I wish I there. I have a lot of trimming to do on my AP to get it to fit my 5'4" frame (yes I am short for a Stormtrooper)
  14. Walmart also has the Everlast brand (not sure of pricing) - check mens underwear section. Most of the logos will be hidden but can be blacked out with a Sharpie. A few of us up here have these suits, and I must say they make my legs look good (at least that's what my wife says lol)
  15. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/51-thermal-detonator/ There are these pictures to. But ask Steve (Squeaky) he knows all
  16. I will be wearing AP...soon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Why? Seems like you would want bigger on the back of the thighs to? Or is that how they made them for the movies?
  18. Metric works for me, good thing for digital calipers Thanks guys. Going to add this to my notes - and hopefully not lose it this time
  19. Oh man do I ever feel like a noob for asking but I won't know unless you ask (atleast that's what mom always said). I am having a hard time finding what the measurements are for the cover strips. I thought that I had wrote it down in my notes but I guess not. So some help would be nice Thanks!
  20. Ya forgot to mention the top one lol. Sounds good I'll add that to my notes. Going to start a build thread soon once I am ready to start this process. Thanks for help! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. What about this rivet? Is there a measurement for it's location? Or does it use the 10mm rule?
  22. Oh man, this is a great thread for a noob like me. Looking at going hard on building in the next couple of weeks - once my ever growing list of material is filled out - and I am definalty going to use this as a reference when it comes to the placement. This is to be used for both the kidney plate and abdomen plate correct?
  23. Well that's a kick in the cod piece. Oh well armor first THEN upgrade to ps4..or another costume, but armor must be done first..soon I hope Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
