  1. No thighs yet. The thighs are way too big. I wanted to get everything north of the thigh situated before I start doing whatever I have to do to make the thighs right....
  2. more progress....later photos are just showing the rivet cover positions on the ammo belt...before it gets riveted to the canvas belt
  3. The forearms were too long for me too....I shortened them
  4. I just score the inside corner where the return edge starts. After I do that I score the return edge in a couple of spots....then the return should just break off with a little bend....check out the trooperbay videos on youtube..... I'm keeping the back as is
  5. thanks......as far as return return edge on forearms...I'm not putting mine back....I wouldn't even know how to put it back...I believe you are not supposed to have a return edge on the forearms if you are going screen accurate
  6. I'm using snaps in webbing instead of plastic snap plates. I believe they are about 2 inch by 1 1/4 inch
  7. for my inner (chest-Ab, back-kidney-butt) strapping.....snaps in webbing glued inside armor for connections
  8. I hit a wall with my NE armor build. I'm torn on what fitting system to install. I have a complete bracket system that I bought from Mr. No Stripes a while back. The style used in the movie with screws and wire brackets. I wanted to go this route. Now I'm second guessing it because I feel it can brake easier in time. Meaning the screw will eventually crack the return edge. Can anyone who has this set up tell me about how it is working for you? I use a snap system in my current armor set up. I do like it a lot. If I roll with a snap system for my new build.... I would want to set up the snap system the same way the bracket system is set up (positions chest-AB, back-kidney-butt) I used snaps in ABS glued to the inside of my armor in my current suit. I would rather use snaps fitted in webbing glued in the armor this time around if I use the snap method. What is better to be glued inside the armor? Snaps fitted in pieces of ABS or Snaps fitted in webbing? Is one more reliable than the other?
  9. Started to attach front cover strips on my calf/shins
  10. OK. started back up. Trimming down my left shins...
  11. Thank you. I goggled the conversion after I posted any ways...
  12. I'll be getting back into the build this upcoming week. Got crazy busy with life and work the past couple of weeks. Updates coming soon.
  13. The latest http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/23285-ne-armor-build-thread/page__fromsearch__1
  14. Ok. Moving onto shins. Question. Which is the inner/outer? There is a really thick/wide one and a thinner one. Also...which is the standard cover strip width (IN INCHES) for these?
  15. fully assembled forearms and biceps. I have a little bit of cleaning up to do on the edges and what not...
  16. Thanks! I am assembling all of my armor but, my CO is going to assemble the helmet. It's enough that the armor will take me forever to do...
  17. I can get it through. I have to squeeze my thumb inside my hand to do it. It's really tight.
  18. Both forearms have been assembled..the edges need some clean up still. The right forearm is a real tough, stubborn one to deal with for sure..
  19. This is a very enjoyable. Thanks for doing this. Although I do log in mostly everyday...the recap of things always comes in handy
