  1. Yes, one more: "Mr No Stripes" carries the DLT-19 as he's inspecting the Millennium Falcon--the only stunt TK to do so. Interestingly, he doesn't have a holster in that scene, either.... If the blaster is being sent to you in a finished state, make sure you get him to leave off the Hengstler Counter and Power Cylinders--they aren't on ESB blasters. I'm thinking about getting one of his for ESB and have been asking him questions online about it.
  2. Cool...I did not know that. I love learning new stuff.
  3. I was simply trying to help you out on your build by letting you know that people use M19s and M32s interchangeably and either would be fine for Centurion (even if the CRL isn't very clear on that). The M19 and the M32 are essentially the same scope. With that said, are you going to sell your M32 as I will be building an ESB, too?
  4. The M32 for all intents and purposes is the same as an M19. They are used interchangeably and I wouldn't be surprised if the M32 appears throughout the two movies. In fact, the CRL SHOULD say "M19/M32" to reflect that the M32 is completely acceptable to Centurion level and, indeed, preferable over an M38 for ESB. See, for instance: http://www.partsofsw.com/e11guide.htm
  5. Why do you say "ANH scope" here and why did it need to be removed for an ESB build? It looks like you've hacked off an M19/M32 scope off your blaster. Is that right? While the M19 certainly did appear in ANH, it was even more common in ESB. In comparison, M38 scopes are significantly more rare in ESB and more prevalent in ANH.
  6. When in doubt, check out the photo reference library above. Here's the suit upon which the RS kit was based. That set of pics is incredibly useful for any ANH/ESB build.... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/59-the-rs-suit/
  7. On the wrist end of your forearms, you trim along the red line. The entire return edge should be removed.
  8. Looks great! Personally, I've gone from liking the look of "no gap" to purposely ADDING gaps to my builds. With that said, most Hero helmets had relatively small gaps compared to the majority of Stunt buckets.
  9. Good suggestions by Steve. I would add CAP-W by Scootch to the list, too. I've built a few of them with good success. The WTF is a GINO V2 and is apparently quite good--I've ordered kids kits from Walt and he's a great guy. If you can swing it, I'd go RS or TM--you won't get much more accurate than them. In terms of colour matching the helmet to the rest of the armour, I wouldn't worry about it too much. As you probably know, the original helmets were painted, while the other pieces were raw ABS so they didn't match either. The good thing about CAP-W is you HAVE to paint it as it's formed in HIPS plastic. Painting it allows you to go for a more accurate chipper build, too. Here's a couple of mine (Mr No Stripes and an ESB):
  10. For sure I'd trim out more of the eye near the nose bridge. Smooth out the curve on the outside, too. For reference, check out these on-screen ones:
  11. I think the holes look fine....
  12. Get rid of it now...why wait? The only canon way to finish your wrist. It's more comfortable, as well, so there's no reason not to.
  13. Very cool...had to buy the song!
  14. Hey Terry, my Troopermaster-built TD is: Length - 7 1/2" 190mm Pipe outside diameter - 2.7" 70mm End caps - 20mm deep Gaps between caps and control plate - 15-16mm Control plate - 116mm TD clips - 1 3/32" 128mm
  15. Paul, I was looking through the Humbrol colours again and #157 "Azure Blue" stood out so I added it to the mix. What do you think? See if you've tried that one yet....
  16. Thanks Gino...I'm glad I wasn't going nuts in thinking that, too!
  17. Here you go Paul...as requested:
  18. I know it's not in any way conclusive since we have zero control on the lighting from the screenshots, but I did this anyway to compare possible Humbrol colours to "Luke's" yellowed hero bucket. I think #96 is pretty close to the blue in these pics. I like the brightness in #109 too. I agree, #40 looks pretty good here for the grey. Of course we have no way of knowing how much the paint has faded. If it were stored in direct light for the past 40 years or so, it could very well have been close to #14 and #5 originally. Hmmm....
  19. I concur that they wouldn't have formulated a special colour and Humbrol paints were undoubtedly used a lot by them back then. Have you ever tried Humbrol 96 on any of your builds Paul? It looks pretty close to this colour (from these screenshots anyway).
  20. I wonder how much could be from fading and how much is actually different colours used? A lot of it would depend on how this item was stored. The ABS has certainly yellowed more than the the one in the Lucasfilm archives. I did see someone on the boards recently who used a different colour blue for the tube stripes and they got the 'secret' formulation from eFX off their hero, I think? It looked great, in any case.
  21. I meant to include this picture, which shows the second tear stripe is thicker at its base:
  22. Thanks Paul! I only wish I had a few clearer photos. Anyone buy that new French sci-fi book yet? Is this helmet in it? http://www.sciencefictionarchives.com/fr/actualites/18/livre-generations-science-fiction With that said, they also have some other REALLY cool props in the collection: http://www.sciencefictionarchives.com/fr/collections/franchises/10/star-wars
  23. Here's another angle of the yellowed Hero helmet from the video link above: Now you can call me crazy, but is it possible that this is Luke's helmet???? Looking at the left side of the helmet above, we can see that there are 13 tube stripes and 8 stripes in the tear--just like Luke's. We can also see that the second stripe in the left tear is wider at the bottom. Furthermore, the spacing follows the same pattern in the both the tube stripes and in the tear. Unfortunately I can't find any pics of the yellow helmet from the right side to count the tube stripes and compare it to Luke's.... To top it off, the vocoder is painted virtually identically, as well. Thoughts?
  24. Paul, wouldn't you say that this one in the Lucasfilm archives is the promo helmet? It looks closer to my eyes anyway....
  25. Great videos Roy! I'm sure they'll be useful for newcomers and veterans alike.
