I don't know about you guys and flexibility, but I can sit, kneel, and I could probably lay down in my armor (probably take me a while to get back up though). "Does this grappling hook go with my blaster?" Accessories are nice.

You know, that's what I'm taking about. I would be 'belt kit trooper' I'd sew up a canvas belt, make a canvas pouch for keys/wallet/etc, wear my O2 canister, comlink, droid caller and a grappling hook. That would be awesome. Stuff for the sake of stuff.

Yes, I concur. If there were to be a small run of these, I would want one to wear in addition to my o2. Why should the Jedi get to wear all the belt candy?

Aw man, what was that really old Star Wars RTS, that most all of the action was space based, and the planetary takeovers via ground troops were automatic? It came out around the same time as Warcraft 2? Whatever the name of that game was, I loved it hardcore. I remember many a night staying up until 3-4 a.m. playing that as a kid.

Good point. I can just mount some of the shoulder strap rings that the original Sterlings had and rig up a little strap and toss it over the shoulder, and detach it for anything that isn't a lengthy troop, and just wear the holster for show.

Here's my question: Even without the counter, how are you supposed to fit an E-11 with the clip into a right handed holster? An no, I can't use a left handed one because I'm going to be ESBed.

I started to do this mod to my armor a while ago, and here is what my thoughts on it were. I was going to get some white marine vinyl and cut it to slightly overlap the 'hole' in my backplate. Then take three strips of ABS and rivet it to the sides and bottom of the vinyl and epoxy it inside my backplate, making a pouch with the top open. Then I was going to mount velcro straps up the backplate to where my dickey on my neckseal would start, so I could run the tubing. Inside the helmet, I was going to mount a clip very near to my mouth and attach a bite plate to the end of the tubing to the hydration bag. That way you can just undo the straps and slip the bag out of the backplate for shorter troops or for filling.

I was at EB the day after the PS3 launch buying a game for my PS2, and I know the manager there pretty well, as I'm always buying some game or another... He asked me if I wanted anything else. I made a joke and said "Yeah, a PS3." He lowered his voice and leaned forawrd. "Really? We've got one in the back." I thought he was kidding. Until he opened the door to the stockroom and had me lean around. And there it sat, a PS3. I asked him if it was for sale, it was. I laughed and told him I'd probably only sell it on Ebay because I didn't want one right away. And because I didn't have the money. Bet it sold by now, though.

Anyone have a source on FX sized ESB decals? I'm going to need a set, and fast! That is, if I want to be ESB accurate by a Christmas parade on Dec 2nd. I'm gonna need the blue-grey colored decals for all the trapezoids, as well as blue tube stripes.

I went to log on this morning and the background loaded first. My reaction was "Woah. That wasn't like that before...sweet." Most excellent. Cleanest place to troop. None of us could accidentally get dirty in there.

Personally, I don't use the ABS glue simply because it takes a good bit of time to cure. I'm pretty sure a lot of people recommend E-6000 Epoxy. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and they should have it. Also, get a nice fine grit sandpaper for smoothing down edges, and the hard-hat liner that comes with it isn't the best thing, in my opinion. You can install it and see how you like it, but I hated mine (it slid around on my head like crazy) so I went to Wal-Mart and got the foam that goes around window unit Air Conditioners, but it in half width-wise (So it wasn't as thick) and test fitted it as a donut shape in the top of the helmet, and it fits much better (no bobble head). I hot glued it in so I could pull it out and replace it when it starts to get funky. Something else that foam is good for is on pieces that don't fit just perfect. Cut some strips of foam, and hot glue them inside your armor pieces and trim them until the piece fits on without sliding, etc. Take a look around at some old threads and see what you think you would like, but what I've found is that I'm constantly changing things. I try something, and it either works or it doesn't. Hope this helps.

Ok, so I did a little looking around, and if any of you happen to need Code Cylinders for TIE or Imperial Officer digs, check this out. ----------- Edit: Thanks to the other site requiring a $100, minimum order, here is an updated link that is a bit cheaper with *no* min order. Still need to paint the white plastic bit blue. They are only $3.19 each, which is a lot better than finding a resin replica, when you can have the real metal thing. Enjoy.

If you can't find anyone, I work for Choice Hotels and I can look into getting you a 'Friends and Family' rate room. It's still $40 a night if I can find one that will take it, but that's still cheaper than it would be.

So, at this point a canvas belt would be considered optional, I imagine. So far, I think this is a pretty good set of guidelines.

What made me want to be a TK? The first time I saw ANH when I was a little kid and the Stormtroopers came through the door of the Tantive IV. I was hooked. It was when I was around 8 that I made the decision that someday I was going to wear armor. It was on my 21st birthday where I sat at my computer nursing a massive hangover and I looked at my bank account. After two years of hard research on armor sources, assembly tips, helmet mods, etc I took the plunge. And that was in August. I must say best decision I've ever made. I've been to the SanDiego ComicCon in 2003, and I'm in the 501st photo, waaaaaay up in the back as a Jedi. That costume sits in a closet collecting dust, and the armor stays nice and polished. Been to 2 troops so far, plus Halloween, and I'm looking forward to years more. And, I can't disagree more with the over 30/under 30 comment. I think it depends largely upon when you got into Star Wars. Also...clones...bah. TK is the way for me.
