  1. I have seen a few mods where people have simply measure out the shim, and then put the rivets through the ab plate as well as the shim, and then connected the other side of the shim to the kidney plate with strapping the same way that you normally would attach the ab and kidney
  2. I think that would be up to an officer who is examining the suit to decide, but my assumption would be no, they would have to be plastic like in the movies. edit: BTW have you changed out the chest and back pieces for accurate ones? I am not sure if that is EIB or only centurion, but if you hadn't you could prolly ask them to throw in a set of belt button covers with them...
  3. Looks amazing so far, good work GL on the rest of the build looking forward to more updates
  4. Don't get those ones, not very accurate can get ones much cheaper online.. a quick google search got me these,--------- and they have your size in stock, like 50 bucks.... just look here for suggestions on exact boot type, i think the chelsea or jodphur boots will do (but don't quote me on it, look it up on here)
  5. The CLR lists that there may not be a seam, these are not acceptable.. if you can't get TKBoots (which I dont see why not, they have sizes 6 and 7 in stock, their shoes run a tad large so if you wear a 7-8 i would suggest a 7) but if not just get some chelsea boots from ebay and dye them yourself, tons of guides here
  6. Not too sure why you would want to Worse than the original FX, and almost as bad as Rubies xD
  7. Got lots of money? RS... no? t/mc.. he isn't doing runs atm though I think.... you could get ap, somewhat cheaper than rs, but a bit more than tmc... have you seen the thread on the new people forum?
  8. Excellent find! Good job and good luck with your sandy
  9. Well your only option would be to remove the cover strip and either add a new, wider one, or do it up with velcro... im not sure that either of these options are allowed for anything but basic so you may just have to order new ones and re-do them >.>
  10. I do believe you would be better off to purchase a hero lid specifically.
  11. That`s ears,,, not teeth.. I will admit I also thought you were referring to the ears when I saw the post title lol...
  12. I thought hero helmets were different molds altogether?
  13. There definitely shouldn't be too much for the ears to cover, in fact they should overlap ears or not.... you sure you didn't cut it too much? Do you have any pics of it unassembled?
  14. As long as it is the correct size and colour, the material doesn't matter.
  15. Your best bet is just to get one of these http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/23997-screen-accurate-thermal-detonators-run-3/ it's accurate for one, a good price.. and you can simply transfer it over to whatever new kit you get
  16. Lol droopy xD Wow looking good, already looks like an E-11
  17. ya that was sort of a problem for me when test fitting... just wear some tight undies instead of boxers lol
  18. He's right, TK boots are a hot commodity lol, especially now since they will be ceasing production, albeit hopefully temporarily... so I doubt you'd have any problems re-selling if need be... also, i'm no expert, but i hear with leather, you can stretch it somewhat too..
  19. I have always heard that they run a tad large,, never small... so if you were 11.5, an 11 would be perfect.. too bad I just bought the last pair of 11s mine should be here any day, my feet measure exactly 11 inches so I will post how they fit (if you haven't already purchased a pair)
  20. That's why you get them to declare the value as something like 100.00
  21. I am by no means, a big guy... so I will be trimming the shims left over on the large parts of this armour, but I am just slightly confused as where to cut.. These were guesses by looking at trimmed suits and references, do they look alright? Now for these, should I simply cut along the mold line? Or should I make my own line, since the mold line is crooked as hell and seemingly to me wouldn't match up nicely with the kidney plate? Should I cut that mold line, or one of my lines here? And here is the outside... Mold line? Or my line? Also, if anyone wanted to greatly help out me and anyone else with an NE kit, could you say measure from the bottom of the box on the butt plate to where the plate cuts off, possibly as well on the ab plate to where the crotch cuts off?
  22. Just got home and opened the helmet package. First up got some very thin flat acetate material for the accurate stunt And these, are quite odd.. they seem to be a welder lens type material, very rigid but they have been perfectly formed to the eyes and are a slight bubble lens, but I know the hero TK has black lenses, so not quite sure what these are for, cool nonetheless Even came with some ABS weld, although I think this stuff is much too permanent for someone as picky as me haha, E-6000 will do for me. These fully aluminium mic tips are awesome, they even have the HOVI-MIX Pa2 on them, look totally authentic, include an already shaped mesh and mounting gear as well, I ordered another pair from http://www.tkboots.com/HOVI-MIX%20Pa2.htm to replace my default AP ones (seeing as they look like Wal-Mart brand faucet aerators), they were only 24.00 including shipping to me while Keith's came to nearly double that shipped O: BTW does anyone have a clue what these are? Because I don't lol. Oh ya, and the it included a helmet liner like sort of a hard hat liner type thing, not too sure if I will use it or not but a nice freebie
  23. I have also heard that, and I like the sound of it so i'm going with it YW, there are tons of NE builds popping up all over the place now, including mine hehe
  24. Honestly no clue yet, it does seem quite thick but I may just do as I did with my AP and drill holes in the teeth sort of like carve out a hole, and then simple shave them... it was extremely easy on the AP, tedious mind you, but easy... so i'm not sure how this one will go if that doesnt work I may steal pandas idea and dremel the backs...
  25. It is listed on the new member thread, the newest make of armour, same guy who made AM, he retired that stuff and has all new screen accurate armour now.. the NE
