Actually it is news. That link didn't have a date on it and they've changed the TK suit several times. ABS, PVC etc. Who knew if that link on their page was the current production.
-
Straight from their FB page.<br><br><br> ANOVOS Hi Kamin, we can tell you that it is ABS, but thickness may vary from piece to piece. .060" (thinner) to .090” (thicker) depending on what was more important---durability or detail.

I plan to go as the "screen accurate" version on the Tantive raid with ankles falling off and split wide open. Hey, it's screen accurate. It should be approved. S&T(airsoft) Sterling L2A1 to E11 "build" thread
Luke S replied to charlesnarles's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
If you do, remind them we like to mod our own for accuracy. I'm hoping they offer a L2A3 and not JUST the E-11 "blacter." Many of us, myself included, have vintage scopes and counters waiting to go. It'd be a shame to have to rip off theirs to install ours. There prototype pic also shows the scope rail mounted to the receiver and not the rear site. I've tried many times to reach out to ST with no reply. I'm glad to see the local garrison has made "First Contact." -
It looks nice. I'm not sure just how accurate it is.<br><br> I'm holding off and waiting to see what S&T airsoft comes up with. They're working on an all metal blaster. Their first L2A1 was pretty good but needed some modding. They're making improvements and hopefully will debut an accurate E-11 soon. <br><br> I just wish I knew how long soon was.

Thanks for clarifying that astyanax. I studied armor years ago when I was getting into it. I've forgotten a lot since getting back in.
-
I see the ab buttons making an arc. Let's hope the quote "prototype" sticks. If they're "listening" like they say they are id also hope they have the 501st spec sheet. There's no reason they can't make it approvable less the personal fitment.
-
I'm glad to see someone used it. Sorry guys.
-
Guys I posted a 10% discount code a couple of pages back and it's a better discount than yesterday since the price is now $650. Not sure if anyone used it yet.
-
I haven't been active on WA for a long time. It's good to be back. I've been too busy being Rebel Legion Jedi and running ImperialRoyalArms.com I just pulled the plug. Any fence sitters can use my 10% coupon code. Sorry already used. I've got a resin E-11 for sale here. http://imperialroyalarms.com/thread/5262/skywalker-gofundme-sales-thread I'm not sure if it's a doopy or not. It needs a little work. One fin as a missing piece along with the ejector port curve/fairing being broken. Two easy fixes get a nice trooping blaster for cheap. I plan to build up a deactivated sterling.

WOW. If you guys don't know Erv he rocks. He makes the best lightsaber soundboard ever. His quality and customer focus are superb. If he is making a voice amp system I would expect it to be the best. Erv makes all his boards by hand. Last month he came out with I think 60 saber sound boards and they all sold in about 2 hours time. Unfortunately I missed my chance by about 15 minutes. My guess is with this board you won't be disappointed. Any you can customize the sounds with the SD card so static burst click whatever you like. He is also working on a blaster core soundboard that works great in an E-11. If you don't care about accuracy to the movie he even made it work with a little LED screen that shows ammo use and radar as well. You can even put in Aurebesh. Erv you rock keep us posted.

What a tease TK-4205. Watch this with great interest I will. I was disappointed like many when you had to halt that mean setup of yours. Hope your new system works as good as the first one looked. That is bar none the sweetest system I have seen.
-
My big issue with any of the voice amp setups is the "static burst". If you watch ANH it is not a burst but a click, viewed on Tattoine in Mos Eisley and also at teh tractor beam. The click is undeniable. I can see it being all to difficult to put in a click vs the static. If you are making your own static by blowing across the microphone ou could also make the click by inhaling and using your tongue on the roof of your mouth. I am a pilot and played around this week while I was flying. You can easily make the click after a little practice. Of course it would be much nicer to have it auto after you finished speaking.
-
WOW where's the thread on that build and what are you using? Erv from Plecter labs is working right now on a blaster soundboard that even supports a small 1" screen that shows ammo usage and everything. Several sound banks including stun blast full auto or anything else you care to download into it. I also will run the leds down the barrel and one at the muzzle. I like the laser idea but careful not to shoot your eye out.

OK same question just a couple months behind you guys. I too was leaning RT, AP and now TM. I think TM being UK and the US$ tanking it will be out of my price range but we will see. I am leaning towards the AP as I am a bit short to be a stormtrooper at 5'8" and 175lbs. I was almost sold then I read that they reuse parts on the arms and legs, meaning that parts of the arms and legs are the same mold from right to left. Does this make a huge difference and is it really noticable. I was hoping for a pretty accurate snd thought the AP was the one for accuracy vs affordability but this kind of threw me. So what do the actual AP owners think or better yet ones that have had several sets and can compare. I am so confused. Too many choices.

Try this link to IMA-USA. --------- I bought this gun here. In the US now the only way to legally get them is chopped up like in the pic. They didn't sell the $40 dollar magazine with it so I haggled with the guy to take out the barrel and throw in the clip. He also didn't charge me the $30 to pick best in lot. You might be able to work out a deal like that if you are lucky but I know they don't like to break the kits down. One of the guys that works there (can't remember his name) is a huge Star Wars fan so that helped out a lot. Good luck on your build and keep us posted. I am just starting to braze my receiver tube back together. FYI every once in awhile you can find a vintage scope on Ebay. King of Parts tends to have them on a somewhat regular basis. Also TK-MD has the hengstler counter and they rock. If you are going real sterling you might as well go all the way. IMO take out the barrel and take out everything you don't need as this will help to cut down the weight tremendously. For the muzzle cap screws if you take the whole gun apart and you have a socket extension that is 18" long you can put fiber locking nuts in to hold the muzzle screws back on. This is what I did. You will need to ground down one side of the nut a bit as they won't fit in the muzzle area. Use the socket extension to get it started then you should be able to pull the cap screw forward so the nut fits snug in the muzzle then tighten away. A little bit of work but IMO pays off with the weight loss. Mine I think will be way less than 5 pounds when I am done. I have a 3 pound laptop and they both feel about the same. Also I recommend you take it to someone that has a bead blaster. Take off the grips and trigger assembly and use MAAS metal polish to shine up the bare steel, unless you want to paint it. Then have the entire thing bead blasted. This will give it a somewhat rough texture and will also help the paint to adhere way better. It also will help to give it that dull flat appearance we are all used to. In the US bead blasting this costs about $20. I also have the instruction manual and assembly in a PDF. If you want it shoot me a PM and I will email it to you.

The email he sent me says it will fit a 6'2" by 210lb person. He never told me how big he was but this is what the RT cna accomodate. I think us smaller guys are better with the AP. -

Thanks kiyotei, and yes somewhere on this forum rob mentions making it bigger. I really think AP is the way to go for me. I am sure I could trim his and make it work but when spending this kind of $$$ I want it to look the best it can. As for help I am a DIYer all the way. I enjoy jumping into a project that I know nothing about. 3 years ago I buillt my own house. I had help with my dad a bit with sheetrock and I had a framer but the rest was me Google and Home Depot. I doubt I will make this summer in fact know I won't this will be a winter project most likely for next summer. I will carefully do the lid first so I have something to look at and enjoy while I wait for the rest. -

Thanks I knew it was something like that. Well should be on their forum shortly. An old classmate of mine and his wife are on the list of officers. Just waiting for the email confirmation. Actually don't mind the tedious cutting and rather enjoy making things myself. You can check out my graflex saber on my welcome newbie post. As for teh price actually the AP is just a bit less according to my findings. Either way they both look great and have great reviews. What ever way I go I am sure I will be happy. -

Thanks Marvinrobot. No I emailed one of the legion officers of my local CT USA garrison. I can't remember which one. It was shortly after I joined the FISD forum when I saw some of you recommend that avenue. Yes I registered for the forum yesterday so I hope to be able to hit my local forum in a few days when they unlock it for me. And yes unless I find some glaring reason it is AP for me. Sorry I lost you for a second, GML is? It stinks being a padawan. I would like to be active it is just the pilot schedule that makes it tough. I know my schedule a year in advance, the problem is it is fixed, so I work every other week 7 days on 7 days off. Weekend troops are a 50/50 shot. I already see a couple events on the schedule within 20 minutes of my house but I will never have my armor done in 2 months. The other schedule killer is a 20 month padawan and a negative 6 month padawan. My wife encourages my SW hobby and even enjoys SW herself but when I am home ever other week taking off to go trooping won't go over big. Once in a while I am sure will work. Thanks again for the help guys. -

Thanks guys that is the way I was leading too. I have spent the whole day on the site trying to make a decision and I think I have it. From what I have read the RT would be a bit too large for me and the AP would be a much better fit. I think it was Chester? that had the great AP tutorial. Thanks to him that was an awesome read. You did half the work for me. lol -
OK I have been on the forum reading and reading for a few months now and I am looking for a little wisdom from experience. I am just finishing my Sterling blaster and am getting ready for the armor. I have emailed my local 501st but have not gotten a reply yet. I also just signed up today and sent them another email. Just want you guys to know I am trying here. I think I have my choice narrowed down to AP/authenticprops and RT-Mod. From what I have seen and read they are both great armor and I am sure I would be happy with both. I have been in communication a bit with Rob adn he seems like a real great guy to deal with. I have read a bit about sizes and I know the whole one size fits all trim story. But, I also know that some are larger than others. I believe RT to be one of those? I am 5'8" and 175lbs (a bit short to be a stromtrooper) so just wondering if the AP would make a difference. Both kits are about the same price. I am looking for a good quality but not insane break the bank quality. Mostly this will be on a mannequin in my den/office but I do plan to join the 501st and troop in CT as much as my flying schedule allows with 7 days on 7 days off. So looking for pros cons whatever you can give me. Like I said I have my thoughts from my research but would like some from the experts.

Well I am 39 just getting into Star Wars hardcore with 2 custom built sabers under my belt and now a british sterling. Armor when I can afford it. First off my wife is the coolest. She even picked the award ceremony music to play as we left our wedding. As we left the church towards the car all the guests started humming the SW theme song. Now you must understand my real name is LUKE S. and I am a pilot in real life. Many times when I am flying a fellow buddy will hear me talking to Air Traffic Control on the radio and I will get the infamous "Luuuuuuuuuuke" over the radio. They all no my obsession but have fun with it. While I was building my luxeon saber several guys and a girl at work watched as I designed it and couldn't wait to see the final product. I brought it to work and made a couple of poses while my fellow pilots all snapped pics with their camera phones. They saved the pics on their phones so when I call they see the jedi pilot on the screen. I guess I have been lucky and have always been encouraged. Of course they could be laughing and talking about me the second I leave the room. I say who the heck cares. I love it and will pursue it. And one sweet day I will get my armor and hopefully join the ranks.

Airport security and armor/buckets
Luke S replied to Thanos's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
It would cost you more and require a bit of planning on shipping destination etc but it would be the safest way to go. I don't mean to scare anyone from checking their blasters but just to alert you all to the potential issues that can pop up. Better to know all the options and go in prepared vs being caught with you cod piece down. I think that most people could check their bags without issue but I like to always play it safe. If you are going to a Con or Disney weekends it would stink to have your armor or blaster get lost in transit. -
Airport security and armor/buckets
Luke S replied to Thanos's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Well guys I am a professional pilot in the US. I live out of a suitcase 180 days a year so here you go. In the US any weapon even if is it a replica for costuming is off limits. If anyone has gotten through with their pvc E-11 you were lucky and I have to say I am not surprised that you got through. I have seen lots of stuff get missed. Anyway the bucket should not be an issue but be prepared to take it out and show them what it is and how it works. I built a Luke ESB graflex lightsaber with a 5w luxeon led and soundboard. Made it through every time. Of course 50% of the time they made me pull it out because they thought it was cool and wanted to see it work. But a lightsaber is not a real weapon so I was safe on that one. The E-11 is based on a British Sterling submachine gun and lets face it, it just looks like a real gun. My best advice is to get to the airport early and as much as I hate to check my bags for fear of loss or breakage, check them. When you check them declare them also. I would never check my E-11 out of a vintage British Sterling for fear one of the handlers may steal it. Yes that happens very often. Also don't forget to pack them well as the gorillas that throw the bags can easily damage pvc or resin blasters. Basically the TSA has the right to ban anything they want to so yes they can ban the bucket, armor or anything else even if it is not named on the list. BUT the E-11 is def on the list of prohibited items. All TSA agents and all airports although have the same rules also kind of have their own quirks and HOT items. Basically just because you get past one screener and one checkpoint doesn't mean you will get past the next. I travel out of many airports and Boston is one of the worst with the pickiest screeners. Many times have I been in uniform and gotten the full pat down. But of course Boston was where it all started on 9/11. You can also go to the TSA website for the full list but trust me all the SW blasters would be covered. Hope this helps. "You're gonna need it." -Han Solo
