Congratulations Alexander, and welcome aboard! I think your blaster turned out well and I like the paint job on your helmet!
-
I highly recommend reading about the various types of armor as one of your first steps! There is some extremely helpful information out there for you. Also, asking questions of your future garrison-mates is a great idea too.

It would be really cool if they made the tread underneath the pattern of the Imperial Cog !!!!!
Great idea! Imagine seeing a bunch of imperial cog symbols pressed into the ground.... (wouldn't work on a regular parade route, but still.....)

Lock everything securely in the car, wear keys around my neck with a lanyard under the armor.
+1. If my wife isn't available to hold my stuff, I lock everything in the car and keep my keys in a pouch around my neck.

I bought Blueys! Thank you guys for all of your help! you all have been wonderful!
I can't wait till he opens it xmas day, hes gonna shucks bricks <3
INCREDIBLE gift! That's so amazingly cool.
My wife surprised me with armor last year, so I can say from experience that it's something he'll never forget!!!

They look great! I have enjoyed my TK Boots so far. I haven't noticed any scuffing, but that would just make them more screen-accurate anyways, right?
-
Nice job on your build, and congrats on your EIB!
-
Good luck and it doesn't take that much build effort to build with EiB and Centurion in mind. There is a little bit of a cost, but the results are well worth it!! I don;t regret it for a moment!
Ditto what Charles said. Keep the EIB and Centurion requirements in mind. I built my armor to EIB specs and found them fairly easy to meet without too much additional effort. Centurion may be a bit more challenging but it's definitely feasible!
Best of luck on your build! We all know the excitement you are feeling right now.

Great write-up, great pics, terrific cause. PP sent (hope it's not too late)

Hey Marie- nice job on your build. Or were these just improvements to your current TK? Good luck with your application!

One word - snowtrooper. Makes a great second costume.
Great point! I've always liked how snowtroopers looked, but then again, I like how almost every set of armor looks. This can be an expensive hobby/obsession.

More to the point, chicks can't tell you're checking them out from behind your lenses.
Excellent point!

Your build looks good! Congrats! It's a great sense of accomplishment once you get your build completed and then again once you get your official acceptance letter (email.)

Just remember the simple things:
1) put on neck seal first with undersuit
2) thighs should go on before everything else
3) then boots
4) shins
5) the rest

x1.
I practiced a few times so that I know what to do first without having to think about it too much. But I have always found that other troopers are willing to help out when needed.

Well the printer and I are close to finalizing and offered will be that design on a tshirt (men's and women's) and a hoodie. At the same time I am going to try and get a lapel pin approved.

Sweet! I can't wait to learn the details!

Welcome Justin, and thanks for your service! Get home safe and have a blast building your armor and trooping with the 501st!

A) Chad Vader is awesome
So is Weird Al. I hope I can troop at his event(s) in Northern Cali next year.
-
Wise words!!! Your level of satisfaction with that decision will never be questioned. Building the armor is only half the fun!!!! Follow Frank and Patrice's advice!!
+1.
You'll get a lot of enjoyment out of building your own armor. I think the experience and the pride you'll feel when your build is completed is well worth the hassle of re-selling the Rubies.
-
I also got mine from TK Leper after I tried to use some metal clips from Wal-Mart that kept breaking on me. He was a great resource and I hope his thread re-opens for future troopers sometime!
-
Welcome aboard! I agree that you should plan to build your armor to at least EIB specs-- the requirements aren't that much more difficult to attain. You can spend your waiting time doing research and making a list of forum threads that you like and will help you with your build. There were a few times that I found a helpful thread but then had to go back later and search for it again.
Best of luck with your build!

ok im not in your head so i did not know that ( sorry ) and their is nothing more fun that being it your TK having a drink on the beach
LOL, cool. I can TOTALLY see kicking back on a beach, in armor, having some drinks, being chill and checking out the ladies. "Chicks love armor" right?
-
I liked the first pic, but the 2nd one was awesome!

Order complete. I went with the Mock neck vs the Crew neck for the top.
I dont think I notice this option, and now I am not too fond of my crew neck.
