  1. Also, I got this really fine mesh that I will be lightly spraying with white paint for the eyes. How can I flatten it out? It got creased in the mail. Should I iron it? Also, whick glue would work to stick this in the eyeholes of the cowl? I don't wanna have to wear raccoon makeup every time.
  2. Hey, all I have costuming ADD and I can't work on just one at a time. I've slowly been peicing together a comic style batman suit and I got this amazing cowl. Problem is, it was designed for a slightly larger head than mine. When I put bubble wrap in the back of it it fits great as you can see, but I want to glue foam in it. I tried E6000 but it didn't stick. I want to get contact cement for my hand plates. Would it also work for this?
  3. Illegal schmillegal. I need it to be glass to hold emergency ABS paste! But seriously, this is an awesome idea.

  5. Well, I've come to the conclusion that ATA is a real pain. There are so many mods and adjustments that have to be made. I really wish I would have opted for TM. Regardless, here is my latest issue with the armor out of the box; the left calf opening is too narrow. Like an oval, whereas the right one is perfect. HEre is the photos: Why? What should I do, guys? Blow dry it? Boil it? Throw it onto a busy freeway? I'm getting frustrated. Plus, here's the progress of the upper body sans the kidney as it is due for surgery when funding becomes available for acetone
  6. On the quest for acetone! I walked by a truck that was carrying new washers and dryers to install in my apartments. I was actually thinking about ABS paste and acetone. Suddenly, on the back of the truck, there was a big container of acetone! I considered "borrowing" some of it, but just walked on by. I really should have asked if I could have some. That's what I get for not asking. Seriously considering criminal acts to finish this suit: PRICELESS! lololol
  7. I'm in the middle of modding my frown. I'll post pics when I finish. I hope it turns out as clean as yours!
  8. Will this testor's paint thinner work instead of acetone for the ABS paste? It's what I have on hand.
  9. Will the Testor's paint thinner I bought work instead of acetone?
  10. No, I spent all morning making the straps for the left and right side connections. Havent done anything to the belt. I'm gonna look at getting a small container of acetone or borrowing it from someone's garage. I am really glad that Karin talked me into that sandpaper and Novus polish that I was sure I didn't need haha. As far as the return edges on the kidney cutouts, I marked the cutouts according to billhag's diagram, leaving about 3mm between the pencil line and the edge of the cut. Then I used a heat sealing iron on heat setting 3 out of 5 and ever so slowly bent the edges over to the line ignoring the ugly warping. Then I sanded with increasing grades of sandpaper from 150 down to 400. Then it looked all right so I skipped the Novus plastic polish since this ESSENTIAL detail is hidden by the belt anyway.
  11. AAAAAAAAAHHHH!!! Does this madness never end??? I guess I gotta track down some acetone. Nail polish remover is out of the question, I assume. Since it's tinted funny colors. I wish there was a little smiley emoticon throwing his armor out a window, cause that's how I feel righ now. I'll use these instead... ... and finally Sticking this thread here for easy reference: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/2041-howto-make-your-own-abs-repair-paste/?hl=abs%20paste
  12. I am so upset with myself. I drilled and installed the upper exposed male snap on the kidney instead of the ab plate. How would I go about filling this? Also, the advice would be helpful to those who put split rivets in the wrong place and have to fill those holes.
  13. New problem! I put my exposed upper snap on the kidney and not on the ab plate. Any suggestions on how to fill a hole?

  15. How on earth do I bend the kidney plate with only a blow dryer? Help?
  16. Yep, just realized my exposed male snap is on the kidney and its supposed to be on the ab. Besides that, I can't seem to get the ab plate to bend with the blow dryer. Is there a good visual reference on what points to hit with the heat to get the bend I want?
  17. I was imagining being at a party or something and saying to a helper "hey, grab my butt tube." So, yeah, it would require a second person. It's just an idea! If you found a top that fit it well there could be many uses for it besides drugs and alcohol
  18. If someone can locate a screw top container that fits well in the TD please let me know. I might have to go to the craft store or something.
  19. AAAAAH!!!!! I need help. I got hardcore flaring going on. I don't know if you can see from the pics. Keep in mind the chest to ab and crotch to butt connections aren't in yet. Just a test fit before I continue. What should I do? What are my options??!! Here's my internal setup so far: Belt corners before bending Butt snaps. One Is glued directly to the plastic. Can you tell which one? Neither will anyone else haha. The glued one is for show I really need help. If I can solve this flaring thing, I can be done in the next few days!!!
