  1. Hi Ron. Welcome to armor building. I am in Huntington Woods. I would be happy to help. I’ll send you a PM. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. These upgrades are awesome. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to use video display glasses and a connected camera to give full vision while wearing a stormtrooper helmet.
  3. Thanks for all the comments. I have redone most of the strapping and added snaps and a garter for thighs. Attached biceps to the shoulders to bring them up. I still plan to close side gap and go for EIB. Here are some new photos including some at my first two troops. At step up for Down Syndrome At ford credit with Vader and Chewie kicking off united way drive
  4. The armor looks AMAZING!! Great job to everyone who participated and helped to make this little girls dream a reality. I am proud to be a member of the FISD and 501st.
  5. I just read this entire post and it really bothered me that someone could get away with lying about his product and no one on eBay has any idea. I have a pair of CFO mic tips in my AP lid and they are great. Then I realized that there may be something we could all do to make this guy go away. It's a little nuts and we would help the recaster in the short term. What if 50-100 of us bought something from his eBay site and then told the truth in our negative feedback. Just a thought, probably wouldn't work but I'd do it if we got a big enough group to support one of our own.
  6. I recently added nylon snap plates to my armor. Soldering iron once hot works like a charm. As many other people have already stated, e-6000 for glue. They conform very well to curves in armor and seem very secure. They have held up for 3 troops and numerous fittings without a problem. Time will tell if they hold up for the long haul.
  7. What a great story. It would be my pleasure to help. PP on its way.
  8. TK boots rock! Well worth the wait even if longer than 3 weeks.
  9. Congrats to a fellow 5 digit TK. I like your Avatar photo with the kid in the mask. I have a similar one with my daughter.
  10. Aha! Thanks. I was in the right forum and thought it was only for 501st access. Guess I didn't read far enough down the page.
  11. Now that I'm approved, how do I get my group updated to StormTrooper from member? Thanks.
  12. I appreciate all of the comments and take no offense from criticism. Yes. It is true that the armor was ordered to fit me but I never expected it to be perfect out of the box. I will happily listen to comments and decide how I want to proceed. Thank you all for your input.
  13. Late last week I received my AP armor in the mail. I am so excited. This is something that I have wanted since I first saw Star Wars in 1977. This is AP armor. Expertly built by the AP armor builder (a member of this forum). The build is first rate with excellent workmanship and strapping. Attention to detail is fantastic and I could not be happier. I know many on this forum build their own and my hats off to all of you. Here are some pictures. Please let me know any comments before I submit for membership. Thanks. Kevin The box:
  14. About 17 years ago in a galaxy called the milky way..... A young couple (my wife and I) wanted a dog. We lived in an apartment that didn't allow pets. So we didn't get a dog. Our friend's cat had kittens and wanted to know if we wanted one, we or course said yes and took 2 kittens because they don't bark and 1 would get lonely. One kitty was named Jasper and the other was a fluffy crazy kitty named Psycho. After taking the cats to the vet, we found out that Jasper was really a girl and she became Jasmine. Now Psycho was an amazing cat. He was so friendly. He did not run away and act aloof like his sister. He approached everyone and made everyone love him. In fact he acted a lot like a dog trapped in a cat's body. Now, I grew up with dogs and was not a cat person. Psycho was such an amazing cat that we both fell in love with him. However, Psycho was not really a fitting name for him only the name given to him by his original family. Shortly after Psycho came to live with us, we decided to give him a better name. Seinfeld was one of our favorite shows and our cat reminded us a lot of Kramer. Thus our crazy, lovable cat became Cosmo. That same year (1995), I signed on to AOL for the first time. I needed a screen name and because of my cat, became MrCosmo. Cosmo passed away a little over 2 years ago. He was a wonderful companion and had a great life. He lives on in my screen name and our memories.
  15. I have purchased a Hasbro conversion and a resin build from them. They do ship to U.S. It just takes a while (like 4-6 weeks). Go to http://www.doopydoos.com/ Of course you can't go wrong with a hyperfirm either. Good luck.
  16. You can even order straight from doopy doos website. I have ordered a resin blaster and a Hasbro conversion. It takes about 3-4 weeks to receive from them. Good luck
  17. There is nothing wrong with waiting. I am happy to wait months for something many of us have waited since we were kids to own. I think the frustration with waiting is inaccurate timelines. If at the beginning people are told something will take 6-8 weeks and it takes 6 months, people get upset. If it takes 6 months, that's fine, just tell me that up front. I would rather have a quality build that takes time and patience then a rush job. Communication is the key. I know the AP builder does great work and is very busy. We all must just be patient.
  18. I did speak with Mark and he told me that the armor was sent to the builder a few months ago. It is out if his hands. Mark has been great to deal with and always replied to my emails promptly. I am aware that the builder has been swamped with many builds. As Jenny said, they have jobs and lives. I still believe that the finished product will be worth the wait.
  19. Congrats Charles. I ordered my AP suit in November, fully built and customized. I am still waiting. I wouldn't get your hopes up on getting your suit for a few months. It will certainly be worth the wait. There are many of us who chose not to build ourselves and the AP builder is hard at work on many armor sets. I got TK boots, Neck seal, Eastbay under suit, Doopy Doos Hasbro conversion and now just ordered a full Doopy Doos kit to have a more accurate blaster. Enjoy the build.
  20. Just bought its great!! Thanks for adding it. It was $2.99 on apple app store. Also available for android.
  21. www.eastbay.com I just received mine. Look on the website for compression, long sleeve. I have not trooped in mine yet but they look and fit great.
  22. AP armor is available untrimmed, trimmed and fully assembled. Contact Mark and he will email you all the information. His board name is ABS80. He is great to work with and replies promptly. Good luck.
