Rumors drive me nuts.... but I'm excited for what lies ahead.
"Fezzik, are there rocks ahead?"
"If there are, we'll all be dead!"

WOW BURBANK! Well between me, Ralf, and Troy, and about 7 others... you are right in our hood. We have armor parties now and then so make sure you're on at least one of the SCG avenues to find out about them.
If you're on FB, try the EP!C FIRE TEAM (SoCal TKs) and the Imperial Academy (general building area) will be up soon.

Welcome aboard, Kris! Plenty of great locals to help you out in the Nordic Garrison. Our own detachment leader Mathias is in Sweden!

WELCOME, DAVID!
Be sure to sign up HERE and introduce yourself, too! We have several people in So Cal just chomping at the bit to get you looking great and trooping soon
-
Welcome, Carlos! If you're based in Los Angeles def sign up at http://www.southerncaliforniagarrison.com/forums where we have a new Academy getting started to help everyone
Of course, if you're going to be trooping the shiny white, you definitely want to live here for now!

Where are you located, Ashley? We may have an Attaché who would be happy to help you through it all.

I squeak anywhere two pieces of ABS rub and clatter anywhere two pieces of ABS touch.

Welcome, Janae!
I believe there is a German term for your cleaning problem, it is called putzfimmel. My German-born mother has it. Thank goodness I am a slob.

Sounds like you are on your way to the shiny white awesomeness. Be sure to contact your local garrison, find out if they have armor parties and local help, and of course plenty of research and information here. Read other AM build threads so you know what you're up against and what to do when you run into specific AM challenges.

Welcome, Nick!
Some of the armorers have the option to buy a kit fully built to your body measurements. There still will be some tweaking and what-not, nothing is ever perfect, but there will also be tweaking if you buy a used suit. It also costs more and takes more time, but its' convenient.
I do like to encourage people to "try their hand" at this armoring thing. My suit was built in about 3 months by collecting the accessories (neck seal, boots, etc.) while waiting for the suit to arrive, and then once I got the brown box I spent about 30-60 minutes every day or two, with some 2-week breaks, just doing one little bit at a time. (I had full time job plus kid plus volunteer work so finding time was hard!) It is not difficult at all. It does take patience. Since you have to wait for glue to dry, one piece at a time works great for people who don't have a lot of free time. You can trim, measure, glue and clamp a bicep in about half an hour to an hour. So trim one day, glue the next... it sits overnight... People who live in altoid tins and shoe boxes in NYC do this in their apartments and people with garages do this in their kitchens... I'm just pointing out that it is not out of the realm of possibility for anyone.
In any case, if you order soon, you'll have everything you need by Ep7... and Celebration7... and charity trooping. GOOD LUCK! -
Yay Mathias made it over here... sorry I'm late to respond.
Let us know if you have any questions!

Hi, Jess! Welcome to the ladies in white, even if you do plan to go dirty on us.
AM is now the NE kit which you can find on the Legion boards but to be honest I would just go for an ATA which can be made to fit you. It's a bit of a wait but worthwhile. If it's "too small" for you (which is not uncommon for any armor) you can always add shims to extend it out. I had to add shims to my AP armor between the Ab and Kidney to account for some "extra baggage" in that area
While you're waiting, scroll down to some of the build threads and do a little reseaerch. Many of the questions that you'll have will have been answered by others in the process of building.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Welcome to FISD!

That's awesome! I commend you!!!
The shape of the crack... just go with it. Many shape their armor thusly to avoid bites there.

Welcome to the white armor!

While their costume/props are pretty high quality (they mostly do soft stuff), they're usually pretty overpriced.
I'm dying to see how their hard armor and mixed costumes come out. I'm not going to judge like a snob yet We can hope the product jockeys at LFL are on top of their game lately.
You know we're going to see a lot of this at C7...
New from sacramento.
