Probably should ask this elsewhere, but when considering a helmet, is there a particular one that people *prefer* for (a) fit and comfort, and ( considered most accurate? And will there be any problem if I get a particular set of armor (like RT or AM) with a different "brand" of helmet? Like color variation in the white, or shine difference, or will that matter too much?

[Liquid/Water Cooling Elements]

Having done the totally un-breathe-able costume thing at Disneyland in 100-degree heat, I've been looking into cooling systems. One of the Vaders at SDCC last summer was talking about his battery-powered personal air conditioning shirt or something. I have been doing searches and there are many kinds: the expensive electronic kind all the way down to the frozen ice pack kind. I might try rigging up something of my own. Here --------

 

I'm also wondering if anyone's rigged some kind of sneaky camelback bladder... hooked into the back and up the neck into their bucket. It should be invisible.

 

I guess I can experiment with all this fun stuff while I wait for my armor to arrive... there's no shortage of heat in So Cal.

It's fun and then frustrating

and then fun again!

 

NO KIDDING!!! I go through days where I can't wait to get up and get going, then days where I stare at the stuff for hours trying to figure out what I'm doing, or simply want to chuck it... never satisfied... But the creative battle rages and the creative always wins!

I have been lurking for a few weeks while doing research on how to build my own TK costume (I'm assembling my vacuum form machine this weekend, but also for other projects like Shae Vizla from The Old Republic game) and I was happily surprised to find that I can actually BUY armor! So there you have it, I'm making the leap, on my way to being one of those cool ladies under the white armor. (I saw one at SDCC during the 501st photo shoot last summer and that sealed it.)

 

I expect I'll be joining the 501st (So Cal Garrison) with other costumes soon, but I am really, really looking forward to trooping with the brotherhood - the best of the best! There is just nothing as pure, iconic, and powerful as the image of the Stormtrooper, not even Darth Vader himself. (Oops, hope he doesn't force choke me for that comment.)
