That's great!

Beautiful work done. I'll go ahead and congratulate you now since my guess is you'll be an easy pass for both levels!
-
My goal will be to finish C3PO, but I'm not that good at documenting my builds. I'll have about 5 weeks in the summer where I can do a lot of work on it. Other than that work will be on the few weekends I can take off from studying.
-
You too, Tony! Hope your big brown box gets in soon!
-
Anyone hanging out in Keystone, CO in the next few days? I'll be here til the 26th if anyone wants to grab a drink or do a few runs together.
-
Happy holidays to you as well, trooper! Have fun when your armor gets in and take lots of pictures!

Looks great! I've been tempted to do a Mark VI Spartan as well lately, but no time for that kind of work and not the kind of confidence to pull off pepakura. I've come very close to buying a Stony Props resin cast helmet, but am holding off since it would pretty much be a display piece at this point.
Looking forward to the rest of your build, good luck!

Looking good, we'll have you out and trooping in no time! You, MisterFubar and I can be the KC ATA crew. That'll look sharp.
-
Super impressive build and very nicely documented. I'm sure all the troopers around you will be super jealous!
-
Very nice work fitting that to your size. And yes, you'll get that line all the time, I get at 5'7 at least once per troop and half the time it is from garrison mates.
-
Welcome aboard, Nate! Your armor (and Tony's and Antonio's) will set new standards for what a TK should look like in our garrison, and to me that is really exciting.
-
Look at that, Karin doesn't need to plug her gloves because other people do it for her! I'd recommend going for her gloves even if you aren't interested in one of the higher standard awards.
-
Looks great, congrats on approval!

I'm trying to think of a way to display mine on my armor box, I'm not sure how mounting a frame would go on a Stanley though.

5'7" 135lbs running ATA. Maybe after med school make a plunge for TM or RS and convert my ATA to something else

Looks like it fits him like a glove too! I did the Stormtrooper helmet and suit for a Halloween party this year, it's a pretty sharp look

Awesome! Now we get Tony and Quixotic in with their TKs and we start working on a fireteam for the 70th

An extra set of hands makes cover strip assembly much easier if they are giving you difficulty. I'd recommend going with cover strips, especially if you are going ANH or ESB. I think RotJ is the only movie where they did an overlap method in the movies, but I'll let the experts chime in on that.

And that is why Karin is one of the best people to work with on here.

Welcome! "The right direction" is more for you to define so we can know how best to help you. Consider things like which kind of stormtrooper you are interested in and then people can point you in the direction of where to start looking at armor. http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL That is a link to the various stormtrooper options, in case you want to look at that. After you decide which stormtrooper you are most interested in, then you'll want to have a look in the "Getting started" section. Most importantly, ask any and all questions. You might also try to get in touch or introduce yourself on your garrison's forums so that you can maybe start getting involved locally and have some local help when it comes to building time.
Best of luck!

Congrats and welcome to the ranks! My only comment would be if you want to change how your sniper knee plate is attached (a Centurion requirement, I think?). I think a lot of people glue theirs. I used magnets to attach mine.
Great looking kit regardless!

Congrats! Great work!

I know of 3 guys building armor or waiting for armor in my area that are all going EIB or Centurion. One is finished and is just waiting for his application to 501st to be approved (MisterFubar), another is beginning the major trimming on his armor (Quixotic) and the third is waiting on his armor to show up (Columbiamo). I've worked with MisterFubar and Quixotic a little with their ATA kits and am really looking forward to Columbiamo's RT build since I haven't seen that armor type in person before (as far as I know).
Greetings, from east Tennessee

The site can be a bit overwhelming, just take your time going through everything. I think I spent about 2 or 3 months browsing things before I set out to purchase armor. Good luck and welcome!
