  1. Very nice, thanks for the tip there. My wife's kit laid out. This is a more scaled down kit overall. This trimmer was great for those first cuts, nicer than the dremmel for straight cuts. We got her into a test fit pretty early, but progress has stalled here. This allowed my kit to catch up. Always nice to see the helmet come together. Hate working on the ears. Dave's Left and 850 right Dave's Left and 850 right Dave's Left and 850 right Dave's Left and 850 right, I like the trimmer fit for myself but I think 850's could benefit from a bit of additional width Dave's Left and 850 right Here's the anomaly where the 850 shins are way bigger than Dave's 850 bicep probably could have used more shaping on my part. Helmet details coming in, very out of practice on my hand painting.
  2. I wanted to try out a rather budget friendly kit from the local armorshop (Gotta love skipping shipping) for my wife and I to have some TK's we could travel with a bit easier. 850 has been messing around with some classic kits with a more ladies/kids scale and something closer to his normal size similar to the R1TK. WE made some quick progress early in but have slowed down a fair bit these days as cadet #2 is on the way so my build has taken the lead a bit. Problem is I'm slow as can be at building up kits, but tutorials and reference here have helped me get this kit built up pretty well I feel. I still have a fair bit of fine tuning, but my initial setups have been pretty good. The road to Centurion is a long one and I don't know if this kit will quite make it there with me driving but I'm doing what I can to get it there! 850 Build Photos Hoping that finally making a build thread here will get me some motivation to finish up. It's quite close in many parts but that helmet detailing has slowed me down a lot. My wife got a fast suit up but I'm well ahead. Just need to get my belt sewn up and I'll really be able to toss it all on more. I also have some size comparison photos with the DDS kit I have. Massive difference, though the 850 shins are huuge! I trimmed them down a fair bit to get a better fit to me. Been a while since I've had to host and post photos on the forums, any good tips there when linking from Google Photos?
  3. I'm doing my part!
  4. Thank you very much everyone for your help! I've already started work to keep going.
  5. Sounds great, just let me know if there's anything else needed. Having fun working on this. Been trooping it for years and have been meaning to do this. Glad to finally get going.
  6. That's right! Brilliant event one of my most favorite ones! Yeah after that troop I removed the bolt and replaced it with some aluminum flashing. dropped a good pound or two, the demil definitely gets heavy as the day goes on. Really makes me wish single point slings were canon! I did swap from Makaze to Parjai as I moved to NW Florida for a new job. Definitely miss Orlando and folks there but I've got a good group here too, just wish Disney and such wasn't 7hrs away!
  7. I wish I lived back in Orlando so I could link at one of the TK Sweatshop armor parties. Always missed them when I lived in Orlando. Thankfully up here we have 850 Armorworks locally so sometimes I can get in on a build part. Should make getting myself a R1 TK easy enough in the future too! I got a chance to crack away at the thermal det and got it down to our 7.5 inch size on the dot. Had to slice off some and redo some screws' placement. I also had a chance to set upo an album to more easily view my photos. I've been wrestling with the forum's file size limits and that's made uploading tough. TK-3437 I also have my 3 glove options laid out. The two shorter ones are the dipped fabric gloves while the long ones are vintage chem gloves I got when I bought an old surplus gasmask. It's been nice to have options. The shorter ones make it a little easier to manipulate items since they are thinner rubber so they are typically my trooping ones.
  8. Thanks for the notes. I took a ton of photos and sorting them has been a pain. Trying to get them straight. I'll have to look into the kidney plate some more, but I did a suit up right after I noticed that darn shoulder strap got tucked. Didn't think that made it into my upload. I went and made several other corrections as well. More to come. Working on an Imgur album to hopefully make the photo uploads a bit easier.
  9. Thanks, the ab buttons have been a bit of a pain but I'm tweaking those. Got the paint off of a few spots though.
  10. Cool thanks! I can get working on that hopefully today. Working on getting all the photos together and uploaded.

  12. If the details are there and it is built correctly I don't think it would prevent you from getting approved. All depends on what your GML says about the details. Recasting is a big no no around here but I've not heard of it preventing approval. The key I'd think is if the proper details are in place, if its too soft I could see them rejecting it.
  13. Nice to see troopers doing something int he trailer already. Plus we could have jetpacks too.
  14. Thank God little has changed. Though the leaks for the possible 709th red helmet are something new. Perhaps this trooper type will have more than 10 seconds of screen time!
  15. The power cylinders are nice, but it is still plenty screen accurate "naked". It's an upgrade I'm interested in but it's another $100 minimum that could go further in other project upgrades that would make more of a difference. I think I do have a resin set I could play with if it s that important to have now. The scratch builds do look like some fun, but I need to make more headway on other projects like my Death Trooper before tossing on another!
  16. I get a lot of flak for waiting as long as I have. I hate I sold my alpha as early as I did now, but hopefully I'll be up in a few months with any real luck.
  17. Despite the weight I've not run into any issues with the demilled save for Celebration. I've trooped with it since the beginning. I also have an SE-14R and a hyperfirm DLT-19 if that's ok.
  18. I have a demilled Sterling and I've tried to only use original parts with it, thus far it has a working M38 and a real Hengstler counter (Sadly not an eagle) mounted to it. I'd rather not glue on some resin/printed power cylinder for approval and while the metal replicas are excellent their price point is somewhat significant for a small detail that was not on every E11. Are the power cylinders and absolute or more of a idealized guideline? Thanks. also it has been been way too long since I looked into doing this program!
  19. the holster looks like it would be something like a keymod system, but the resin doesn't allow for that to work. In order to properly do that the holster needs to be made from layered aluminum.
  20. I'm really wishing I had taken close up shots of the one the Anovos 10 had. I mean it was right there in front of me when I was taking a water break in the back of the Anovos booth.
