I think we are stepping a little into the unknown here. All this is negative conjecture.

I'm really worried this armour isn't going to be as comfy as my favorate pair of slippers or that I'm going to have to try and put it on without opening the box and it just assembling itself around my body shape. A little like an iron man suit only white and plastic. With any luck it will be totally tailored to me with Anovos not knowing what my measurements were before shipping it.
I'm super worried you will need our help putting it together. Noob!

And you haven't had any issues with the strength/hold of the snaps? My instinct is that it would be fine, especially considering the blaster itself is plastic and doesn't weigh much.
Nope. I've done quite a few holsters like this for every type of blaster but a real sterling. And my holster is heavy (thanks Gaz) too. I don't know how many troops I have with snaps but it's maybe 3 years worth.
Use tandy snaps not dritz and you'll be fine.

Write a bug report to Microsoft? Sounds like this is their problem.
I wonder if we could install a new editor on this version of ipb. To the todo list!

For me chicago screws are a total pain in the an impolite person having to screw them on and stuff. They are also too big a diameter IMHO on the outside of the belt. Also the canvas will not hold up to the chicago screws spinning around and wear over time. I do not recommend them for a holster.
What I do recommend is riveting snaps onto the belt. They're much more durable and repeatable than chicago screws with a bonus: more accurate.
Here is how the UKG guys do it:
I did it a little differently on the belt:
Belt front where you can see which direction I went in with the pop rivet:
Belt backside:
Snaps on holster straps.

How I mounted my amp, is I use the strap it came with and just hang it about my neck.. It sits between my ab and chest armour comfortably.
^this
Also Clamps does a cool thing with his: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29342-chest-mount-for-the-aker/?p=374147

New lenses are easy. $8 welder's mask replacement sheet
Truth. Or just use the more accurate lighter colored ones
The CRL is vague when it says they must "obscure your eyes". Heh.

Thinking of having behind chest piece (never understood having at back). Will the 12w fit there?

Yep. See above. That is where mine sits.

Seeing how this original topic was posted in 2010 is most of this info still true? I'm looking at starting my 1st TK build but still confused about all the different types. I'm a bigger guy 5'11" and 250lbs and I wear a size 38/40 pants (39 really as 38 is tight and 40 is loose). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Yep. We maintain and update this list still

Hi, Randy! Thanks! I looked to see if I could find a date and info on the event at EcoTarium, but no such luck. Could you share either here or PM me?
It's in the potential events area of the neg forums. I expect it to move to confirmed early this week. It's scheduled for 1/16
There also a hockey game in the works in Lowell on 1/23.

Do you Ace hardware up there in the great white north? They have springs that will work if you stretch them out a bit.

Is TM in the UK?--I nearly forgot. I'll be in Liverpool for three weeks this coming May. Wondering how hard it would be to connect and have a pair of his XL shins (and perhaps thighs) sent to the university where I'll be staying. Can't think of a better souvenir from my time there! Anybody done this before?
You can send Troopermaster (Paul) a private forum message and ask him: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/user/76-troopermaster/

Greetings from Watertown MA
I see you've got a mentor on the NEG forums already and our CO is in the town next to you. But please let us know here, where the stormtrooper experts commune, how we can help you decide what armor to buy.
Feel free to sign up to help wrangle at one of our upcoming troops. We always need the helmet and its a good way to not only meet some fellow nerds, but see some costumes up close and personal.
Welcome to the FISD!

Here are our costume requirements for your basic stormtrooper:
http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt
It states that an FX helmet may not be used for a new approval.
Additionally it says:
Note: The helmet is accurate in detail and proportion to official references.
- Many commercially available helmets or those considered disproportionate in size or shape are ineligible.

Will the 12w fit in the back armor space?
I have no idea. Mine sits behind my chest plate to be heard by the person I'm speaking to.
Also being tall it's right at ear level for everyone else. Heh heh.

I say louder is better. Or at least the option to be louder. There will be a time when you want louder than the 10w can provide. I rock the 12w but I also like to be annoyingly loud.

Do you make longer thighs too? How well would these blend in with other armors, such as MTK or ATA?
MTK is whiter than 1.5mm TM. But TM matches ATA pretty well. Both are creamy white.
And TM's shins are taller than RT's even. I should take a photo at some point.

Heh Bender you should make that little faq your forum sig

Sweet, thanks for the photo Darth!
Word.
I should have added that I have ATA and TM plastic here too that does not match. They're both too creamy compared to the MTK, RT and WTF (his old batch of abs) I have here that are much more white white.
