  1. Well, AM doesn't exist anymore... TupperwareTK sells NE armor now. I am 98% done with my NE set and it's good stuff. Having said that you'll be trimming a lot off of any kit since you're so short. It all depends on what your budget is, and how accurate you want to be. I'm 6'2" 225 lbs and fit the NE with trimming. I have no experience with RS, but the NE is super thick plastic, very sturdy.
  2. Excuse the bad pics and any wonkiness on how things are lined up, I got dressed by myself at like 12AM, haha
  3. No build progress, but here's where I am now... thighs and shins done today! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Don't use Velcro. Use good quality snaps and they won't fail Tandy Line 24 are the best.
  5. I did this previously and had horrible results... I think it was because I hated juicing leafy greens. Tasted horrible to me. So, I did lots of fruit juice and packed on more weight. I'm doing a ketogenic diet currently, and it's super easy and I'm eating things like eggs, bacon, steak, avocado, cheese, broccoli, nuts, etc.. and the weight is falling off of me. By the end of the year I stand to be around 180. If I reach that goal i'm rewarding myself with a new costume!
  6. I take off the return edges on my biceps and forearms or else I get wicked armor bites. You're good to go man. knocking my build out the next two weekends and I will post my pics.
  7. I'm down 45 lbs as of this morning... feels good building this new kit and not needing shims!
  8. I think he meant 235 Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  9. Hey guys and gals, just got my big box in the mail from TupperwareTK... here's the teaser pics: I didn't get the helmet as I already have an ATA bucket completed - but I am hoping to get this going over the weekend if I can. Gonna document EVERYTHING and take tons of pics to try and help out future builders of this set. EXCITED!!!
  10. I've got one of these on the way too. I look forward to building alongside you!
  11. My head is 7 5/8 and what I had to do for my ATA to not strangle me is to pivot out the faceplate a little and cut away the underside of the vocoder section a little higher. It's not visible to anyone, and prevents the dreaded Adam's apple choke from happening.
  12. Hopefully not the same type of surprises that had the Pathfinders in a tizzy at the beginning of the year...
  13. I ordered my Doopydoo's Hasbro conversion kit from eBay and got it quickly. Good luck you guys
  14. SImple - don't send any money until you see pics
  15. I think that's just where I need to paint the frown a little further on the top and bottom. I am out of gray paint, and of course the only color Hobby Lobby was out of was 1138 Gray. I'll paint more and see how it looks.
  16. I think that's the problem, I've never seen any but the one type around here. The basic cheap ones.
  17. Like losing their ability to hold to the mating snap. I think the thin metal bends and the snap isn't as strong.
  18. Dritz is available all over the US at craft and hobby stores, even Walmart, and I have had no luck with them at all. Could be a different quality of metal in our version - but I have found them to be really weak and start to fail after only a few uses. I swapped all of my snaps to Tandy ones and have had no problems yet.
  19. I have done similar things (but more crude-looking) with a heat gun. I simply make the snap plate, then heat the whole thing up and push the plastic around the snap down so it sits flat. It's ugly, but I have never had one come off of my clone before.
  20. This one is just about done - just need to install mesh and paint the ears when I get more gray paint (apparently leaving the lid off of your paint jar makes it dry out) Fun build, I look forward to getting another kit down the road and making an ESB version!
  21. Wish I had seen this yesterday... I was assembling my ATA over and over again trying to get it symmetrical. I ended up with a bunch of holes in the sides... luckily they all were covered by the ears
  22. Not likely, folks... see this thread: http://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=71868
  23. You need a dremel. Go to Harbor Freight and pick up a cheap one. It will save you time and heartache. You can use files too, but dremels are pretty much required for any armor build. You spent $600 on armor - don't be cheap and try to skimp on tools - the only thing you'll do is ruin your original investment. If you don't have the money right now for a dremel, then wait - no sense messing up your stuff just because you're in a rush.
  24. Put some foam behind the plate. Should push it out a bit. I had to do that to my fx armor
  25. That's a hell of a build, great job!
