How many WIP'S are you doing?

Looking forward to the build mate!I decided that today would be helmet day. I've been terrified of helmet day. I knew it would come and I decided I could no longer avoid it.
It was an arduous four hour journey, both physically and emotionally, to go from here:
to here:
I started the ears but decided it was enough for one evening.
I cracked a beer, sat back in my chair across from the workbench and thought, "Wow... there's a stormtrooper helmet on my workbench."
Cool stuff.

Looking good Jorge. You'll be done in no time!

Yeah that's what I mean. I guess there's no getting away from it? Just seems a little "clinky" at times. I get that it will be down to all the independent sections. It occurs mainly with the chest and Soulder bellsCan of oil
Seriously though, if it's built correctly the only thing you should be hearing is the plastic sections rubbing against one another.

Just a quick question.
Any tips on stopping the armour creaking when moving?

Can't quite put my finger on it, but something looks a little off. Ah, that's it........ I don't think you wear it that way!

Hi
Have you tried the blaster builders club?
They do blueprints of the e11
Here's mine.....not perfect but happy with my first
-
Sorry. A bit off topic but just had this conversation with the Mrs.....
Joanne....."I've moved your books and put them beside mine. The only thing that's doing my head in, is that they're now mixed up" me " what do you mean?" "Well, I need to sort it, you have yours next to my Karin Slaughter books." Me "ok" joanne "well, I've now got fiction mixed up with non fiction." For the record, my books are:
The Star Wars vault
Star Wars costumes the OGW
The ultimate Star Wars guide
Star Wars archives
Non fiction?.....I have taught you well baby.......unless you view Slaughter as non fiction. In that case I'm screwed!

Butt........will be.....play on words!?!?!It is still be worked into the CRL as Tim mentioned in the June 2016 Newsletter. So until the powers that be give notice - it is unofficial.

Yeah that's how it looks. I think the rule of thumb is to discount any shims added and line up the two. Correct me if I'm wrong. So the notch needs to align with the forward edge of your butt plate. Thanks, I caught wind of a change happening, didn't know what it was till now though.

I'm in Manchester. The ukg is a little quieter than here. The main difference being that when you do your WIP on their site then only your armourer can comment on it. Here you tend to get more imput from others. Both are great sites. I would suggest having your WIP on both. Good luck! Looking forward to your build mate! Thanks for the welcome guys, just outside Glasgow in Bellshill. Will check out uk garrison

Hello. What's the issue? Put some pics up and be specific about what problems you're having I'm sure people will chime in once they know what you need help with. I'm in the uk too. Have you joined the UK garrison yet?Hi,

I have an original stormtrooper kit and am struggling to get the armour completed. It is my first time and am really struggling with the remaining pieces of the armour. I have completed the chest and helmet but not the legs, arms or holster. Live in the UK, Hampshire area and am looking for any help.

Thanks

Now my question for us "huskier" guys. I stumbled across this in Tony's Anovos build thread and Tim mentioned it in this months news letter. So I should be correct in cutting a 50mm x 22mm notch?
This is final cut for me.
Interesting, I thought the notch was always 22x22 regardless of size for Centurion? At least that's what the CRL says. Sorry I messed up the quote.
Yeah. My understanding is that it should line up with the edge of the butt plate.
We need some clarity me thinks.... I'd hang fire until we know more.
As they say " it's easier to cut off than put back!"

I am currently working on my other templates at the moment.
Here is a copy of the blank torso I made to use in photoshop. Not sure if anybody else wants to use it for their plans, but feel free to download a copy if you do.

I'm gonna get rid of the curve on the plan. It's just how the armour I used as a template was shot!Nice graphic.
You may have said this somewhere above, but why the two different size snaps? (and why the curve at the top of the kidney plate?)
Webbing for the double snaps, elastic for singles.

Been looking all week......and I still can't find any with the right sized head!A splash of black Paint and they're look good to go
-
You will probably find that you won't need to order any. You should have enough excess abs from trimming ..... happy days!Oh yeah I have over 100 snaps and enough elastic I still need the paint, some extra abs for cover strips, helmet decals and I need more nylon. Other then that I'm ready

Ebay is good for items like this. Anything specific though is best to ask the forumCan't believe I have been to a lot of places in Maryland and just can't find the elastic or nylon I need. Ocean city not..... my home in Dundalk not.....Not sure where my path takes me but hope it leads to what I need. I did find a good deal on my top and pants at the outlets in Ocean City happy about that.

It depends on your preference really. I'm just getting ready for my second build. Like you I'm sourcing materials ahead of my armours arrival. I went with mainly using elastic on my last one but feel that webbing is a better option (for me) on the next build. Going for webbing on the torso and elastic on the arms and legs. Good luck, enjoy, and if ever there's a question just ask, loads of people will chime in to help out!Is it nylon or elastic that actually holds armor together getting some more supplies this weekend.

Looking good. Any issues fitting the rivets? I've heard they can be a bit of a pain at times.
