So here's my new RWA kit
On its way, so I thought I'd start my WIP thread.
Maybe a slow burn due to work commitments and a resin blaster kit WIP on the go too.
We'll see....Looking forward to BBB day!
I have the tools, but was thinking about all the other bits and bobs I need to fulfil the build.
There's nothing worse than wanting to get on with something and then realise you need to wait for the postman! So I tried to get as much as I could ahead of my kit landing
I thought I would put this on here for two reasons.
1) being relatively new to all this I found that as I have been going along in my current rebuild. I have often run out of key things required and hopefully this list can help others prepare whist they wait for their BBB to arrive.
2) I will have more than likely missed something, which I would be most great full if you could direct me in what else I need or whether I'm ordering too much or not enough of something!
Poppers/snaps
Going to be going with the double snap method using webbing instead of elastic for the ab, kidney, back plate etc. So gonna need a lot!

4 poppers for thighs.
4 for chest to abb plate.
10 for arms.
1 for top of ab.

2 for crotch
2 for shoulder straps
Total snaps = 65 order x100 for those ones that don't want to work!
X100 =£ 7.99 *acquired*

Or 40mm white webbing

This is excluding the cost of rivets and pan head screws.

I'm weighing that up as we speak.Definitely a DD, I can tell by the crappy D ring. I love their kits, and have built a few, but I was not aware that they were supplying scope rails, though. If you want to carry your build even farther, Marc, I suggest getting one of t-jay's AWESOME E-11 finishing kits, which includes all sorts of detail pieces, (including a new D ring). I used one on my last DD build, and it looks incredible. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28444-fs-completion-sets-for-e-11-resin-kits-with-worldwide-insured-shipping-and-paypal/
Might have to put a pin in that for the time being as I'm about to pay for my new armour, which is ready to ship!

I believe it is a DD kit but it's not directly from them. I bought it from someone who I believe began the prep and then gave up on the job.
As for the scope rail, I'm not sure if it was initially supplied with one. Or if is correct.
I'll post pics as soon as i can for your judgement.

Ok so this arrived this morning, so I thought I may as well start my WIP thread.
It's not as rough a mold as I was expecting. My first kit was a pipe build, and at the time I thought it was a decent effort. Saying that the parts were alot rougher than this, but there's still a fair bit of filing to be done.
I will post more pics soon, just wanted to get the thread up!

How long did you spend on the trimming? Sounds like you got through alot!
-
I know alot of people prefer to do it by hand. Just rotate the drill bit until done. I guess if using a power tool, use the lowest setting.

Thanks.Yes.

Is that to avoid feedback or just because there is more of a cavity in there?I'm actually going to try mounting it inside of my back plate

Hi AndyWho makes RWA? Where are they from?
Andy
RWA are UK based. Their kits look really good. I have dealt with them in the past and their customer service is top notch. Im going with them on my next build.

Could it be because I'm using Tapatalk?Worked ok for me

Mmm.....Can't get the link to work! Thanks will post a parallel one here. This is also the UKG WIP thread - http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=126&t=59835&p=662627#p662627

This! Do you have a link to your UKG WIP thread?Do a parallel WIP here, as regular members are allowed to pitch-in with advice, whereas on the UKG forum, only armourers are supposed to advise.<br>
Welcome to the FISD

Get a WIP thread up..... if you've not already done so mate. If you put the link here I'm sure others will follow it and comment in order to help you on your wayHello again everyone, I opened up my account on here a while back (a year ago, I think) and then just abandoned it. Well now that I got my first stormtrooper kit from RWA (Ross) last month and everyone mentions this place as a great source of information and advice on a build, I've decided to finally make a return here.
Currently the build is not going too well, but hopefully with some of the extra resources and folk on here, I should be able to make it through (hopefully).

Welcome back! RWA is my next build, so looking forward to seeing yours. Everyone here (and on the UKG site) are really friendly. Just ask any questions and someone will chime I'm to help you on your way. Good luck!
Any thoughts on RWA armour
