  1. I've managed to get my hands on a adjustable mannequin! ----------- The hands need some work. I'm going to separate the fingers so it can wear gloves. I'm not sure about how to pose the arms, I guess I'll go for the 'standard' TK pose What do you guys think?
  2. That's a great solution! (Why didn't I think of that? I'm losing my geekness :S My armor better get here soon ) I've question for you guys (and girls ), is there somebody willing to help me get a ipad? I've been looking around here in The Netherlands but the prices are outrageous (600 - 800 euros). Even on eBay it's not getting better since the prices are high and I'm gonna need to pay custom-tax and what not when it goes trough Dutch customs I know it's a long shot but maybe someone here knows a way to get one of those pads to The Netherlands Greets, Lennaert
  3. I used 'Baskerville Old Face'.
  4. Hello Troopers, Does anyone know a source for quality star wars plaques? I need it to be something like this: ------- I found a guy on eBay (that's where I got the little reference picture) but maybe someone knows a better source? Thanks Regards, Lennaert
  5. Donation sent, I'll just have a few beers less tonight Let us know how things work out!
  6. Amen! (on the cheap booze part )
  7. Hi Tyler, Welcome to the FISD! (If you have some spare time, why not drop a line in the New Member Introductions-section ) About a month or two ago I had the same question(s) you have It may sound a little lame but what you (really) need to do is browse this forum and read everything you think is (remotely) interesting. You'll be amazed about the time and effort the troopers on this forum put in their (armor) kits ! After reading and browsing trough all the topics and user posted photos you'll start to see all the details on different available kits. You'll be able to spot the difference between a fan made kit and a cheap (eBay) knock-off with a quick look When I started with this and I saw photos of the first stormtrooper-kit I could find on eBay I was like "omg that looks great!", after some research I am so (so!) glad I didn't spend my money on that kit! There are so much better kits out there (I mean here, on the FISD ) So the lesson is: read, search, learn and then make your choice about your armor And if you get stuck with anything, or you'd like to know other peoples opinion feel free to ask! Everybody on here is extremely helpful To answer your first question: Yes, most of the time kits are less expensive than a completely build costume. Of course this depends on the kit It's better to buy a kit so that you can modify the armor on your body for a perfect fit. Have a blast! Greets, Lennaert
  8. Good one, it never hurts to check the security camera footage..! Troopers helping troopers!
  9. So sorry to hear that! That is a @#$%* shame! Maybe there is a change someone took it by mistake, e.g. someone took the wrong bag/case?

    E 11 Blaster

I've got that one in the mail last week, as a kit, un-painted. It's decent (Got some pics over here)
  13. No, you are right, the mag+holder are not curved, I guess they custom made it.. (it doesn't bother me _yet_ )
  14. I got the blaster from eBay seller predalien64. I asked him to send it in parts & unpainted. Some parts needed some more trimming (the trigger) so I had to do that myself (hence the crappy job ) I've attached the front & rear sight, magazine. Here are pictures of the blaster & parts (of course: build in progress): The scope rail was kinda messed-up, I'll be getting a metal replacement.
  15. Lol, I'll go change my clothes and take a shower
  16. Hm, I just read something about resin being very poisonous. I've used the dremel on the resin, I covered my mouth with a dubble folded t-shirt and I was working on a well vented balkony. I didn't use gloves or anything. Fine dust was floating around (probably still is). Should I worry?
  17. Allright, thanks for the info all! I'll visit a hobbyshop tomorrow and see what they got I've just got the big resin part cleared with a new bigger dremel bit as well Going good!
  18. In that case, just wait until PayPal discovers the error
  19. lol, the problem has shifted to the buyer. He got a refund from PayPal, which they will take back from him. So he's out 2x the payment Just wait for the buyer to notice it, or drop him a e-mail about it.
  20. Wait, what? How did that happen? Did the buyer pay twice?
  21. I'll post a picture of the large part I'm removing when I get home. Has anyone used Tamiya 'Fine surface primer' and paint on resin? I still have some of that left from my 'RC car'-period
  22. Hi, I've got a resin E-11 blaster that I need to put together. I was wondering what kind of glue/filler, primer & paint I should use? Found this for filler / glue (it's available in shops in The Netherlands): http://www.milliput.co.uk/prod.htm I also need to remove some resin to create a nice fit for some parts, what is the best way to do this? I've removed some small pieces with a dremel, that works fine, but for larger parts this takes quite some time :S Thanks! Regards, Lennaert
  23. Allright! Good to hear it worked out for everyone after all! Well played
  24. Does the receipt from the Post Office state any of the following: Proof of shipment is acceptable documentation if a buyer files a chargeback or reversal for an unauthorized payment. You need a document from a shipping company that: - Shows the status as shipped or delivered, or shows a postmark. - Shows the date of shipment. - Includes the recipient’s address, showing at least the city/state or ZIP code (or their equivalent). You could try to contact the Post Office and ask if they have any record of that shipment/transaction. The more info you get, the more PayPal likes you
  25. The weird thing is.. Why would paypal assume you are trying to rip someone off.. Everybody knows the buyer will always get his money back in cases like this. So it's always the buyer who's in the position to hassle, never the seller. But like you already stated: no proof of shipment = fail
