  1. Hi All, I was just looking for some advice! I'm thinking of re-strapping my shoulder bells to make them more accurate and also so they sit better. I noticed on the original suits there is elastic holding the chest plate to the back plate with the shoulders attached to this with a snap it seems. Is this correct? And if so, what sort of heavy duty glue should I use to attach the elastic to the chest and back? Looks like it'll have to be pretty strong. Also are the shoulders on elastic too or just webbing? Shoulders have been my nemesis now on two separate suits! I just want them done properly and forget about them! Thanks for any help!
  2. Ha ha! Thigh videos! I thought this was going to head off in a different direction!
  3. Thanks guys! I appreciate all the great comments! Yeah, I was going for the sort of uneven, lopsided paint job on the teeth. It turned out asymmetrical anyway! Here's the latest addition to my collection! It's taken quite a while to finally get all finished, but well worth the wait.
  4. Awesome armour! If you're reading this Paul, what are your weathering tips? It looks great! Amazing work!
  5. Amazing job Pete! Well done! What type of glue did you use to attach the straps to the armour though?...
  6. Thanks guys! I'm very happy with it... Especially after the hours spent sanding the ears!! The armour is all done too, just have to get some pics up!
  7. ha ha! Looks like we finished at the same time! Great looking helmet! Can't wait to see your armor pics! Mine are going to have to wait till after CV...
  8. Here are some pics of my recently completed TM helmet! (and a few friends!)... Probably time to rein it in a wee bit!
  9. Thanks for the help everyone! I'll get back to work and try to make the necessary changes! I'm just glad it doesn't involve any more snap! I hate snaps!
  10. Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has any good suggestions / tips for a solution to stop the shoulder bells rotating backwards? Currently mine sit in a good position, attached to the chest straps with nylon and snaps, but they seem to move backwards a little too much. I was thinking about maybe sewing some velcro onto my Imperial onesie and then using that as a safety to keep them from moving, but I'm open to suggestions! Thanks!
  11. Awesome! Thanks for the info! I'll check that out too!
  12. I got to thinking about this the other day as summer is approaching... (Everywhere except Portland OR though)! Has anyone treated their armor with an anti UV treatment of any kind to prevent yellowing from the sun over time? If so, any recommendations of good stuff to use? Also, I heard about anti lens fogging spray or something like that. Anyone know anything about that? I've got a fan in the helmet and probably have to add another, but anything else that might help with misting up would be good! Thanks for any advice!
  13. Awesome suit Allan! After hearing about it yesterday, I had to see some pics! Great job... Not too many of those out there!
  14. Awesome! Happy Birthday! Hope to see you at CV!
  15. Congratulations! Great looking suit! And great pics!
  16. I'm about 5'7'' on a good day and I managed to get my AP armor to fit just fine with only very little trimming around the ankles. I've started building a TM kit recently, and I've noticed it's a wee bit larger than the AP, although it looks like it'll also fit okay with very few mods... I'm sure if you managed to get an FX to fit you'll be fine! I was also worried about this size problem in the beginning but I didn't want to be an Ewok! Anyway, it turned out to be a non issue. Just lucky I didn't want to be a Vader... Good luck!
  17. Well, I managed to gouge a wee bit of my armor while making a cut and now I'm trying to figure out the best way to buff it out. It's in gloss capped ABS. If it were my AP I'd just sand and polish, but can I do this on the gloss capped TM stuff with out making a mess? Otherwise I guess it'll just have to go down to battle damage! Thanks for any input!
  18. Cool! I'm glad you guys think it's okay! It's easy to sweat the small mistakes while you're putting it together, but the more and more completed it gets I don't even notice some of the little screw ups! With a few decals! The whole family so far! Next project!
