  1. In my opinion, TM is actually the easiest one to build yourself just because the parts fit together so well. There's also no need for heat treatments to make parts line up, there are clear lines of where to trim, and we have great build threads from people that know what they're doing. To get to centurion you then just have to pay some attention to what you're doing and why. Not just rush into things because you saw someone else do it. But it's not actually harder to do, just requires some thought put into it.
  2. You're welcome.
  3. Sorry, I missed your post. Here you go! http://www.whitearmor.net/eib/certificates/6018-eib.png

  5. I got confused because Phil hasn't finished your EIB application yet and given you the EIB badge.
  6. RT is also only sold as a finished helmet so we don't need to worry about the assembly of those, fortunately.
  7. Because it's harder to vac form the cap and back as one piece. Or so they say. How amateurs are able to do it in their garages with relatively low-tech equipment is left unanswered. It started with the FX or Marco helmet in the 90's btw.
  8. It's more likely down to how you trim and assemble it. I have TM and have handled multiple RS's and they seem the same to me.
  9. The ejection port protector sits a little too much forward. But other than that you look great.
  10. You should paint the outside of the rivet white anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much out scratching the surface with pliers.
  11. Pliers work pretty good.

  13. Yup. Look at the other SE-14R builds for some of the morgan casts. This one is good: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19460-se-14r-sidearm/page-2
  14. The first picture is a real rexim, which has wavy grips (although hard to see). The second picture is an older shawn morgan that doesn't. The biggest change he made to his current version is when he got a cast of real rexim wavy grips to add to his sculpt. Although, to be fair, that version is a complete resculpt since he could scale it to an accurate size since he had the real grip to work from. So it's also a bit smaller than the older version he had. Check out the newer version he has and you'll see it.
  15. I was asking about the shape rather than the texture, but the texture does look good.
  16. Are you going to leave the grip flat or make it wavy like the original?
  17. The model used in game has a flat panel with no details. For centurion we allow both flat and ROTJ style. ANH/ESB style allowed up to EIB level.
  18. There are some replicas out there that are really nice, in full metal (aluminum). But they are rarely sold, or produced in any great number. I managed to snag one from Germany. Picture is from before I added T-tracks and Hengstler. -----------
  19. Think replica mannequin rather than 501st approved costume. Like with what eFX intend to do. If you can wear it, and good for you but it wouldn't even be required for such an award. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
  20. You're missing the point of a super accurate award Glen. The people it would target might not be interested in long term troopability and no cracks. You can't have both.
  21. Lets try to get rid of the inaccuracies before we start demanding more accuracy. It sounds strange coming from my mouth since I'm usually the one asking for more. But it's hard to justify requiring tiny tiny details yet allow atrocities like FX. I tried pushing centurion into more accuracy, and I got chewed up for it from all around. It was not a nice experience and shows just how ready the general community is for such a change (hint: it isn't).

  23. That would correspond to what I've read earlier of CAP's origins. So in that case I'd say you need TM's approval for the knee and any other piece that might be his or sculpt your own.
  24. What about the parts that CAP did not have permission to use, like knee plates and so forth? Those are what is keeping CAP-W from not selling other than helmets here, and what makes ATA able to sell here. Terrell had to sculpt his own parts for those. I'm weak at best at the specific details of this deal, but that's the jest of it anyway, and needs to be sorted out.
  25. There has been talks about making an award for 100% replica suits that are not tied into 501st, something independent that non-501st members also could achieve. But that has been on ice for a long time now. As for AP and an 100% replica award, that would be "sucks to be you".
