From what I have read, I would like to have a set of 90 gauge ABS, "FX" I understand is like this. I have seen articles with "HIPS". My next question, would it be better if the HIPS armor was 90 gauge or would an 80 Gauge HIPS be as strong as 90 ABS? Having never bought this before, I have been researching and wanting the best for my buck if you know what I mean. Thanks again for the info and help.

The worst thing you can do is get in a hurry. Impatience and money is a bad combination. I have been on here for the past two months and I have still not decided on where to get my TK armor. There are choices, but you have to find what will work for you.

When I first started getting my items together for my suit, I had no idea what or where to start looking at armor. These forms have been very helpful. the first thing I noticed was the "DO NOT buy from Ebay" statements on here. That was the best advice I could have gotten especially after researching this hobby for the past two months. I'm still in the market for a suit of TK Armor. I have now after reading this decided to look at the 90 gauge armor. Now it's time to locate a maker of 90 gauge armor. Thanks for the insight on this guys.

I have yet to receive a TK number. I will try and use the date I receive one. A way to remember when all the fun starts.

Ok, to start I am a noobe at all this. But can someone tell me the"Explanation of different gauges of armor"? I've seen some sets of TK armor saying they were "60 gauge" some were "80 gauge" and others were "90 gauge". Now my thinking is the thicker the armor, the longer it would hold up. Is 60 Gauge thicker or thinner than 90 Gauge? Is it lower the number of gauge it gets thicker or higher the gauge its thicker? I have not yet purchased my first set of TK armor and want something that someone once quoted as "Running with the bulls" tough. (I don't plan on running with any bulls, but say if I wanted to I would like to have armor tough enough to take a good lick. Just kidding. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.........

This would be good, getting the lite. I have recently obtained a MRCE bucket. I have everything BUT the armor itself. Just looking to get the set of body armor to finish my suit.

This looks Very promising. I might end up getting a set of this/ I wonder if it is as strong as the FX armor? No weak spots? <_<

This has helped out a lot, and thank you. I would like for my first suit to be sturdy, and 501st acceptable. Detail is a plus, but I'm not a picky with my first suit. looking for something acceptable, and low maintenance.

Thanks, I bought one and after I bought it, I had the "I wonder if I got jipped" felling and posted it on here to get thoughts about it. I don't feel so bad now. I am just now starting out and have not yet got all my armor together yet. Just trying to get one item at a time as I am able to afford it. I love this hobby. Can't wait to have everything ready to do a first troop!

Got mine in today, most impressive. Very pleased!

This is why I went with the MR helmet as well as I'm not sure of my skills yet. I have just gotten started and trying to get up and running at this time. This was an easy way to start.

Very sweet setup. My MR helmet arrived this morning by Fedex, and looking at it I can already see I will need to do something with the "padding" inside as it feels like a Bobble head while wearing it, and the lens will have to go. I will more that likely use this until I feel more comfortable with my skills of building my suit. At this point I am still unsure of my building skills. I am too pumped about putting together a suit at this point.

I was wanting to get some thoughts on the "Master Replicas" Stormtrooper helmet. Is is 501st approved. It looks like a good helmet. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Which is better? AP Armor or FX Armor? I haven't bought a set yet and checking ALL my options before I go forking out a ton of cash. Please help with some information.....................
