  1. Wow, well, next year my wife and I are taking a trip to Vienna Austria to see her mother (she is from Austria), so I wonder if I can have the DLT-19 sent to her mothers place in Vienna and then take it back across the pond with me... I'll have to e-mail them and see what they say. If not, I will be visiting Germany at that time, so I can have it shipped to a friends place and then pick it up and once again, take it back to the states with me. Either way, with my europe trip comming up next year, I have options. Now, off to explore those options. This would be a RIOT to troop with. Very cool.
  2. Favorite photo here! Hilarious but meaningful! Showin the luv as well!
  3. Small sucess at least. I weighed myself this morning, I was at 241. So I lost 3 LBS. Now, I'm not getting my hopes up, but looks like I am starting on the right track. First mile marker past... And that just means I started the process.
  4. Well, I didn't buy the model one's persay, but I did pick up a file set based on your idea and it worked out like a champ! I think my kit came with 6 or 7 files for 12 bucks from Sears. All I buy is Craftsman (I'm a brand junkie) and those things were great. I have used them to no end on my blaster build. Thanks for the great idea, and it's going to be fun watching your build. Cool thing though, With the back rails, I actually got a small flat head screwdriver and scored my way through the edges of the bottom and top of the excess plastic and the part just snapped out in a perfect line with little effort. Kind of like using a hobby knife, but that didn't seem to work as well as the flat head screwdriver. The end result is just a little filing with the flat file like you said, and your good to go. Next step now for me is some patch work with bondo and then getting ready for the doopys kit. I'm having such a hard time tracking down E-6000, I can't find that stuff anywhere. Checked Lowes, Home Depot, 3 wallys... nothing. I heard a fabric store like Jo-Annes, I'll have to try there next.
  5. Any reason you didn't split it in half? I Did that last night and it made it easier to trim down the scope rail in the back. Also, How did you smooth the barrel where you removed the one rail to drill the holes? Interested to learn, as I removed most of it, but it's not perfectly smooth and rounded yet. Just the big thin rail is gone and still have that bump. I guess just sandpaper it down.
  6. I have stayed true to my word as of now. So I am working out, no calories after 7, etc... I feel good, but it's only been 3 days, so I can't expect drastic changes. OOOO that reminds me, I forgot to post a pic. I got so caught up in my hasbro blaster build the last 2 nights, I completly forgot. I'll see if I can remember tonight. And Chris, Sorry to hear about the rugby incident. I injured my back playing ice hockey in Germany when I was stationed there. When i did it, I didn't feel a thing and continued the game and finished. THe next morning, I couldn't move. Funny how that happens. We'll get through this.
  7. Ahhh so like a small electritions screwdriver. We refer to them as 7-level screwdrivers in my work center. Cool! I'm not in a hurry to get this done, but I want to take my time and work smarter not harder. Thank you!
  8. I'll try to do the same thing with the flathead screwdriver and hammer. Trouble is, I am afraid I will break it. Thank goodness for Julie with her idea on the scotch tape roll as a back up. Thanks!
  9. How did you manage to get the end cap off of the scope? I noticed it on in some pics, off in others with grooves on the side where it looks like it just slides on and off... I appreciate the help. I just started my build tonight, I unscrewed everything, cut the orange tips off the scope and the barrel, good times! But just that darn end cap can't come off. I just don't want to break it if it's needed. Again, thanks! Update, I found an entire thread dedicated to removing that cap. I will see what I can do with that information tomorrow. But in the mean time, if someone has a better idea than a hammer with a flat head screwdriver and doesn't destroy the cap, I am all ears (or eyes as it were)...
  10. Uncertian about the future. Scared as to what it may hold.

  11. What a great thread! I just found this (although not suprising as I am new). And I'll post a picture tonight taken today as my most recent pictures. I am 6'2" and 244 LBS and 30 yrs old. My goal weight is 210 or below. I have been on a teeter totter weight issue for the last 6 years being inbetween 225 and 260. Every time I go down, I feel sucess and gain back the weight I lost. It's frustrating. And my back issues don't help at all either. I have herinated a disk in my lower back 3 times no in the last 6 years which has kept me almost bed ridden for 6-8 months each time making it impossible to lose any weight and all I could do was change my eating habits. Fast forward to today. I have been pain free in my back for a while now, and working hard to get down to a healthier weight. If I could, I would love to get back down to 190, but my plateau seems to be in the mid 220's and I have never been able to break that barrier for many reasons. So, starting immediatly, this is my plan on losing the weight. - for 4-5 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday) I plan on working on an eliptical machine from 30-45 min each time bringing my heart rate up to about 140+ BPM until I can get closer to the 150's without dying and so on until I have reached at least 65-75% of my max heart rate. - I will reduce my consumption of beer (I love beer) to 3 pints a week spread out. Not all at once. - I will not consume any calories after 7 PM so my body does not store food while I sleep - This next one is to help my marriage as well as my body. Any time my wife asks me to go on a walk with her to walk the dogs, I will. Traditionally dog walking is about 1.5 - 2 miles. I hope will all of this, I can finially break my plateau of the mid 220's. Even in the military, I wasn't able to do that and have been on the cutting edge of the weight/physical fitness issue for many years and it has finially wore me down. It will be a 2 sided goal. One to look better once I get my armor, and one to stay in good graces with the military until I seperate in October (due to my back issues. I am getting a medical out). So Good luck to the rest of the people that are working to their goal. If I can be of any help or support, please PM me and I will give you my e-mail and we can do this together. I would like to have someone as a support to keep me going, if any one is willing to help a new trooper. Thank you again and best of luck to everyone.
  12. It is odd of the distro. The Colorado Springs area wallys got them in all over the place. Mostly the Clone blasters, but just about every wally around has 2 or 3 of the hasbro stormie blasters. I picked up 2, 1 for me 1 for a friend. We are also doing the doopys kit and I like your idea with the back rail! That is just impressive. I never would have thought to try that. I'll have to do some more searching as to why that bottom rail is taken off and new slots drilled. But so far I like what is going on, and the pictures help me with my upcomming build. Thanks! Have fun!
  13. Well, I picked up a hasbro stormie blaster. I will be modding that with the doopy doos kit once they get it back in stock. I am a bit frustrated that the pipe build didn't work out as the templates from the blaster builders forum didn't pan out and fit the PVC they said it would have. But, at least I have a better base, and if I get this down decently well, I will have a good idea on how to redo the blaster should something happen and thee hasbro ones are readily available. I have my boots on order from TK boots.com, and I have signed up for a TK kit clinic hosted by my garrison. I am getting there folks.
  14. I have talked to a bunch of people in the Garrison. And they are all willing to help. It's a great community. The style of armor is ANH and I want to go for screen accurate. At least that's the goal right now. And the armor I am getting is a custom job by one of the members of the guarrison. So it's not a commercially available armor. It saves on price tags and has been concidered by 99% of my garrison to be screen accurate with their facility. So that is where I plan to go through. And since they are local and in the garrison, I can get everything fitted alot easier than getting prefab stuff. I have been reading and ingesting all these how to threads with great excitement. My only issue is weeding through all the info. I am still new to this, so alot of it doesn't make sense until I can get to an armor building party and actually SEE it being done. I am more of a hands on person than I am a book smart person. But those go on at least once a month here in the garrison and I will be hitting those up with regular frequency. The gloves do indeed have a leather on the palm. I guess I will have to look into those other style gloves. Eh, I have time for now. Thank you for all the tips and the quick comment!
  15. This is what I have of my build first... ugh. Slowly getting there. Sure makes me wish I had my own personal TK helper as my neighbor to keep me going with the aquisitions of all the supplies I need. Any way, enjoy post by post of my thread. I'm going to be here a while.
  16. I plan on getting this kit and using a regular PVC pipe for my build. Most of the threads I have read on this kit is it goes great with the PVC and a bit nicer. Plus that leaves more for modifications that you can do outside of the resin. I can't wait to start this.
  17. Well, I figured I would start this as I am starting my aquisitions of all the parts that are needed until the I can get the plastic. Should be working on it for about 6 months before approval. But I picked up a pair of flight gloves and the Baclava. It's not much, but it's a start. I will be starting a blaster build based on the blaster builders forums templates, so we shall see how this goes. Looking forward to that. I will post pictures when I get a chance after Saturday. Thanks for following my progress and if you have inputs, please don't hold them to yourselves. LEt me know if I can improve in any way.
