  3. Nice work. As far as the calves I spent a ton of time too shaping them only to realize that industrial strength velcro hold them together properly once they're on your legs and attached together. So I'd take a break and see how they work once put on before worrying too much more. You can always tweak them more later. As far as the posterior armor flaring I hope you see this in time because that's actually normal and you don't need to do any shaping. So let me save you some time and check out this post I recently made: Basically all you have to do is put metal (like me) or plastic V tabs in your armor and it will easily stop the flaring. This took me about 15 min to do vs potentially hours of shaping Lastly your back armor should hopefully be able to drop down quite a bit once you have it connected to your chest. By the time you give yourself some extra shoulder strap slack and let the elastic rest on your shoulders I think your back armor will drop way down

  4. I am completing the 3D design for the riot shield and baton and wanted to share reference pictures and have discussion/ agreement on those images I used, prior to moving to print. Hot toys reference pictures are useful for the baton, but there is enough pictures of the shield to complete the reference without using hot toys images. - Probably just like FOTK, shield and baton go together, no jetpack or rifle when having those. Shield: - Shield is similar to FOTK riot shield but somehow different. The IAC are also wearing them hanged on their back top anchor points, but unclear how they attached those. I'll try to find a way to have anchor points on the shield, but at the same time, there is nothing visible on the inside of the shield that suggest features to attach it to the back anchors. - It is clearly only hanged by the top anchors as we can see the shield pivot and swing on their back when the IAC are fighting with mando - Shield has a handle and a strap on the inside. - The 4 pointed greeblies are clearly defined in the reference pictures and different from the hot toys that seems simplified in multiple places. Baton - There is limited images, mostly blurred in the movie reference. On the hot toys, there are way more details and seem to correlate to blurr images. - the details of the inside of the tip section is only partially referenced, best guess design from there !

  7. Correct 15mm front and back, same on biceps. Also ridge should be same front and back, unless you need to leave more material for larger sizing, you would also use a larger cover strip on the rear if sized bigger. I normally trim standard size on front pieces and size the back to what is needed, most would use standard 15mm sizing front and back. Thighs 20mm front and back (unless you need bigger sizing) Shins 20mm front and 25mm back to allow for velcro or hook elastic.

  8. Greeting all, Calling all attaches and approved 501st Stormtrooper members Last year, we launched a new campaign to further grow our ranks of Expert Infantry troopers. Advance to 1500! Link for the newsletter launch: March FISD Newsletter Advance to 1500 launch What is Expert Infantry you ask? Well, putting it simply, it's making some tweaks and minor additions or changes to your armour, edging closer to screen accuracy. Now EI as we call it, was introduced back in the day when we had very few vendors, and the armour itself wasn't as accurate as the superb level of kits we have available today. It was designed to make those kits, and FX specifically, look a little better. This tradition carried on, and over time it has become easier to build your armour to the EI level, with vendors making improvements and in some cases making easily available the little extra bits that make the difference. This is perfect for anyone joining the 501st and wanting a touch more authenticity without spending much more on achieving it. By its very design, EI was made to be easily achievable and low cost. A few years back, we developed a program called "March to 1000", the aim to hit 1000 troopers approved at EI level. We had a supportive merch run along the way, and achieved the 1000 mark a couple of years ago now, celebrating with a very special piece of merch many will remember for the Victory 1000. Now back to "Advance to 1500"....... Back in the March 23 newsletter, I mentioned we would have some incentives along the way to help us all sing the virtues of Expert infantry level, assist new and existing members to take on the easy challenge of building to, or upgrading their armour, and gain some more momentum. We also relaunched a new and improved Armorers award program in the slow build up of momentum towards our 1500 target. Well fellow troopers, the time is coming close to releasing our first real push with a special piece of merch that will help us get the word out on Advance to 1500. A talking piece, something many may find both cool and useful. I might now have your attention if you are reading this, but we are not quite ready to let you know what this item is yet, but we promise to announce it very soon. Come help us support fellow and new members in the endeavor to reach the goal of 1500 proud and approved Expert Infantry rank troopers. Here is a little teaser to spark your interest with more to come. And don't forget
