Nassik Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 (edited) As I was looking through stormtrooper accessories and such I came across the combat de-ionizer... ------- From the Star Wars Wikia: Combat de-ionizers counteracted the effects of ionic energy. They were often part of the Stormtrooper utility belt tools. Sources * Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary I don't recall ever seeing this accessory on any stormtrooper. But there it is in the Visual Dictionary. The questions are obvious ones, I suppose... * Does anyone have one of these? * If so, where did it come from? * Where would this accessory be kept? It says they were part of the Stormtrooper utility belt tools so we understand that it goes on the belt somehow, somewhere. * Any ideas what in the world this thing was originally? Though I'm not a 501st member I assume that this accessory isn't a necessary part of the stormtrooper presentation and it's likely not even an accepted or recognized accessory. This could make for a good discussion, though. Edited January 15, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 And here I thought we were talking about Febreze... There's a lot of dross on that wiki - take it all with a grain of salt. Quote
Nassik Posted October 16, 2009 Author Report Posted October 16, 2009 Granted. If it is in the Visual Dictionary, though, does that make it a canon accessory? Quote
Nassik Posted October 16, 2009 Author Report Posted October 16, 2009 Good to know. If it's not seen on-screen it doesn't count, then. Quote
carbonitekid Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Thats part of a bearing assembly if i'm not very much mistaken. Quote
Dargas[501st] Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 the visual dictionaries are in my list of wrongs on the starwars universe. there´s just so much crap in them... stuff that the guy writing it just had no idea what it was and just invented the explanation on the spot. I´m not joking, check the explanation for R2 D2´s parts on the episode 1 visual dictionary for one of the most ridiculous examples. look at what they did with the Mandalorians after so much effort was placed By K. Traviss on the race´s past, shape, dynamics, culture and character... and now they´re supposed to be a pacific race that has nearly dissapeared from the galaxy? i mean... c´mon! I would´ve kicked the guy who wrote that and many other things into the middle of next week! the idea of a de-ionizer is cool though.... Quote
