tatooine Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Well, been working on this before the holidays and now I'm just about done! I'm a single parent on active duty so I don't get to work as obsessively on this stuff as I'd like. I've only got a few pics of my progress due to knocking the camera off the stand it was on. Mighty hard getting into a TK costume and take pictures of yourself WITH NO HELP!! Needless to say my camera is now taking pictures like some old 1930's camera (you can tell on the action photo). Also, I realize some parts of my armor ended up shifting. My belt got crooked, my left shin tried to make a right turn, and my butt...well, don't know what to do about it. <_< Anyhow, I'm almost done. I just need to figure out what pics the 501st needs to approve, pick out some TK numbers, and submit the application once I get some adjusted photos. I just figured I'd share a bit of my soon to be triumph! http://www.flickr.com/photos/20570582@N05/3329087829/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/20570582@N05/3329087839/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/20570582@N05/3329087847/ Quote
Smitty Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Great looking armor! My only recommendation is move the black eleastic straps on the shoulderbells up just a little higher so that the straps arent covering the biceps. The 501st will want you to have 360 degrees of pictures, an action shot and a pic without your helmet on. So you will need some side shots and a back shot. Also it looks like you are almost ready for Elite Status. Look over the the Elite requirements check list and see if you are missing anything. Quote
tatooine Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Posted March 5, 2009 Thanks Smitty! Yep, I have some other photos, but I need to change the background to something lighter. I also got another camera (ouch $$). I can move that strap up no problem on the shoulder bells. I got a tripod stand now so no more fumbling for the timer button. My other camera bit the dust before I could get some blaster shots as well. I've built the armor up towards elite so fingers crossed once the time comes. TK# first! Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Geez - we should rebrand Smitty as our unofficial Deployment Officer ;-) I can't add anything other than what Smitty offered, but you're certainly at the point to apply for 501st membership through your local garrison. You can apply for Elite as soon as you have your TKID. You look good in armor - can't wait to you join up. Lots of pesky Rebels running around, need some disciplining. Quote
tatooine Posted March 6, 2009 Author Report Posted March 6, 2009 Thanks for the support! I added some more pics of my TE2 bucket and E-11. Here's the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/20570582@N05/...57614785706063/ I've also made some more tweaks today on the armor. Tomorrow the glue should be cured on the mods so I can throw the armor on again for better pics. Seems like every time I put the armor on I find better ways of doing things (along with advice from here of course!). Hopefully, I can get the armor and pics just right for my 501st submission. Sorry about posting a link but I'm having trouble getting flickr to imbed pics! I'm not having any trouble with photobucket, but I'll have to move my photos over to that site... Quote
Smitty Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 you should breeze right thru the 501st inspection. Once you have your ID number, you should immediately make your elite request. As long as your butt plate and kidney plate are already separate you should be a shoo in for Elite status too....or vanguard..or tk sharpshooter...or whatever were gonna end up calling it. I just dont understand why politics is everywhere. Awesome job! Quote
