I understand they're inaccurate but they have an Shepperton Design Studios E-11 blaster and they apparently ship to me. I plan on buying elsewhere for armor but the blaster is absolutely gorgeous. I was considering Blaster Factory but I like the plug design on the magazine more for the SDS, and I want to know if I'm actually gonna receive what I pay for.

Thank you in advance, I'm very new to all of this, my expertise lies more in Lightsaber collecting.

SDS is a nice base blaster, could do with changing the coiled wires.

There are quite a few issues with SDS and some items will need addressing before you can seek legion approval, here are a few threads with items needing addressing and @Helotech documented his updates thoroughly.

Blasters are not a requirement for basic level legion approval, so that won't affect your application and approval process.

Higher levels of approval which we control, hence Expert Infantry and Centurion level is where Blaster accuracy kicks in.

There isn't anything wrong with the SDS aside the fact they have the curly wires connecting the shot counter to the power cylinders on the magazine. From memory, they were seen on a Promotion suit, not really a standard in the film.

The below thread is a compilation of work from a group of our members who focussed solely on creating an ultimate reference guide for the E-11.

Lots of great info within the thread.

About the saying "Legion approved"

This tends more towards the costume as I mentioned above, blasters are not a prerequisite for Legion membership.

No costume is essentially out of the box legion approved, sure it can have all the right components, but it needs to fit the wearer and look correct (the full package) so to speak.

Always ignore the statement "Legion approved" for any costumes and accessory, ask questions about the item/s, do some research and most certainly as you have, ask questions here so we can assist you :)

In saying all this, the Blaster Factory metal/aluminium Blaster are fantastic, durable, and most probably heavier than some of the plastic and resin E-11's out there.

It's also fun to detail your blaster yourself, you will learn some new skills and make your journey even more enjoyable.

@Sly11

Thank you for the information! I was actually looking into buying an armor set from https://www.stormtrooperstore.com/, and I guess I should ask how that can be made standard for approval? Obviously it has to fit but are there any huge issues that need to be worked out or can I buy it with minimal modifications (aside from maybe replacing items that don't work with my height/build)? I *do* own a 3d printer and I thought about just measuring and printing a set for myself however I do not have a belt sander and I do not have the free time to sand and fill it by hand. Thank you in advance! this has been really helpful for me and my entry into the cosplay scene. 1102806889.jpg

Definitely have a read through those threads I posted, SDS can be approved but does need quite a lot of work.

There are other makers out there that will build to size, AP, RS, TM and more, this thread outlines the makers and contact info https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them-updated-2026/#comments

Research is the key to this hobby ;)
