Ipod / MP3 players plug into the amp in the auxiliary in on the side (if using an Aker amp)

You may need to use a Y piece to allow an MP3 and Mic to work with your mic spealers.

Photos of your setup would be handy.

Have you had an ipod / MP3 player connected up previously?

Looking at @ukswrathsales thread I'm not seeing any extra connections (unless these are from another maker)

If you are not using an amp I would think your Ipod would need a connection between it and the hovi speakers, a Y connector may work, unfortunately I've not personally used mic speakers before.

The iPod doesn't have enough output voltage to power my speaker sufficiently. There will definitely need an audio amplifier in the mix to work correctly.

Yes, when I got my Icomm I was using the entire set up with the iPod shuffle and it worked PERFECTLY….. I stopped trooping in my TK because I gained a like 15 lbs from my CENTURION weight north of 235…. The TK DID NOT FIT….. currently I’m at 216…. And I started using it again but that’s when I found out the internal battery needed replacing….

The blk wire with an “S” is actually the Hovi connection that goes to the “speaker” section of the Icomm.

I would wire it that way. The item on the right is basically an amplifier, pretty similar to and Aker amp

More info in @ukswrath thread

Option 3) Hovi Tips with speakers, iComm with rechargeable battery, Push To Talk cable, Omni-directional Headset Microphone, Amplifier w/ rechargeable battery & wall charger (This latest version amplifier is now included in all my audio systems at no extra charge. The amplifier has the ability to also power my SHA (hearing aid, sold separately), reducing the battery supply footprint inside the helmet. Average Amplifier battery run time with connected SHA is roughly 8hrs+)

There is always an option to modify to an external battery, I've been using mine for the last 7 years without issue.

Sorry guys been reading through these posts and other posts about the icomm.

I have just had delivered one of the new shrink wrap boards with the external battery. I just ordered some replacement batteries for it and now worried that they may be no good !!

What you see in the picture is what I have order. What are peoples thoughts…. Thanks .

I've used similar but only 3000mAh, Andrew mentioned he was using 900mAh.

According to Google:

mAh (milliampere-hour) measures a battery's total capacity, indicating how much charge it holds and how long it can power a device. A higher mAh generally means longer battery life (e.g., a 5,000mAh phone battery lasts longer than 3,000mAh). It's crucial for comparing portable device runtime, such as smartphones and power banks

Still no the wiser !

So I’m guessing they should be ok and last longer !! Apparently from what I can dissect from Googles reactions

Depending on the application I'm either running 10440 350mAh or 18650 3600mAh
